  1. Original bid of $45 rejected - added Hayward and had bid of $48 accepted. Was offered room for $60 prior to $48 bid. Total for 2 nights $116.04 - $96 + $20.04 taxes. Also picked up compact rental car for $11 a day. Used your PRICELINE links.
  2. Tried 2.5* at $50 rejected - somewhat desperate so went to 2* and was accepted. Tried other areas from PA border (south) on up 79 north and nothing below $50. Maybe it is the fall colors. We just needed a place to sleep. Very seldom go below a 3* so am curious to see how this works out.
  3. Started at 3* $40 in area 11 rejected; was offered room for $55; added area 7 (Airport) and increased bid to $42 accepted. Total for 2 nights $105.48. Used your links.
  4. Started at $40 rejected - increased by $1 and adding new area until accepted at $45. At $41 was offered $56 but declined that deal as I have always found there is still alot of wiggle room in the deal as I found here. Nice hotel and nice area - lots of good places to eat close. It's football time so we will be back several times. Three day total $160.35 - about $53 a night. A GOOD DEAL! Thanks for supplying this info and the PRICELINE links.
  5. Started at $40 area 2 rejected; added area 1 went to $45 rejected; added airport and accepted at $50. Total is $64.62. Used BB Links
  6. Started with $40 in Area 3 rejected; given opportunity to raise to $50 for immediate acceptance. Added area 4 and rebid $45, accepted. Stayed here earlier this week - very nice hotel and has a good hot breakfast included. Used BB PRICELINE links. Thanks.
  7. Accepted on first try. Total of $100.68. Lowest available rate according to hotel website would be $128.65 a night including taxes. I would say this is a great deal. Because of lack of reports had no idea where to start with bidding - did use BB PRICELINE links. Can't help but wonder if there is a problem with reporting on this location. When I tried to search for St. Louis I always received an error. Finally tried Saint Louis and found these few reports. Seems reasonable that there should be more activity for this city.
  8. Started at 3.5* and $40 rejected - dropped to 3* and stayed at $40 rejected - added area 4 and increased bid to $45 accepted. Total charge $58.56 - lowest rate on hotel website is $123.62 including taxes. Used BB PRICELINE links - thanks again for this site - I tell everyone about it.
  9. Accepted on first try. Always makes one wonder if they should have started lower but with the area can only do one bid a night so took the safe route. Total of $108.08 or a total of $54.04 a night. Pretty good I would say. Used BB PRICELINE links.
  10. Worked hard for this one - actually needed 6/15-19 but went to $55 (increasing prices and adding areas) and couldn't get an acceptance. Finally dropped Tuesday and Wednesdayand was accepted at $50. Even tried the additional check-in offered when got the Thurs/Fri accepted at $50 and was rejected. Must be something big going on as we stay at LAX alot and have never had a problem. Hardly ever had to bid more than $45 and usually accepted on first try. This was $122.14 total - parking is a little higher here - $16.50+ tax. Finally ended up with $50 a night at the Radisson and changed plans and used reward points to stay in Oxnard area on Tuesday/Wednesday. Might still try BB and PRICELINE for those but pretty happy with the rewards points. Usually avoid booking direct and getting awards but we often have to book 4 plus rooms for several weeks and almost impossible to get a PRICELINE acceptance on those terms but does give us negotiating power with hotels and then points to spend because if we are paying we get the points not our people.
  11. First try for this hotel. Total price for two days - $97.90. That would be $48.95 a night. Not bad. Used BB PRICELINE Links.
  12. First bid of $40 rejected - got the add $12 and get the room deal. Added Hayward and rebid at $42 and was accepted. Total rate of $149.62 for 3 days or less than $50 a day. Stayed here before - great hotel and area for us - in town for grandson's graduation. Thanks again BB for helping us be thrifty. Used the board's PRICELINE links.
  13. First try accepted at $42 - $55.23 total. Lowest price on website is $169. Another great deal! Thanks BB - used your links. On to the next leg of the trip.
  14. Interesting - Have stayed here before for $40 and $45. Had to go to $50 to secure it this week. Asked desk (when we checked out on last Friday) how occupancy was for next week and they said very low so was surprised we had to go to $50. Still a great deal. Super hotel and convenient to where we are working. Total is $233.56 or a little over $56 a night. Can't complain.
  15. Sorry about the dates. Yes it was from Monday May 10 to Friday May 14th. Home for the weekend and going to try again today for next week. Again thank you all for this site - it is an ingenious idea and we have saved so much with this tool.
  16. Had to work a little for this one. Started at $40 Northeast area rejected with caveat that could get room for $53. Added Airport area and increased bid to $43 and was rejected. Added Lexington with $45 bid and was accepted. Total for 4 nights $210.72 or little over $53 a night. Of course, I used your PRICELINE links. Have stayed here before - new hotel and very, very nice - no free breakfast though.
  17. First bid of $45 accepted. Probably should have started at $35-$40. Not the best deal we've ever made. Total price is $57.99. Used BB PRICELINE links
  18. Bid $50 first time and was accepted. Looks good! Used BB PRICELINE Links. Thanks again for the site - Just a suggestion - I usually find that whenever they give me an amount I can increase by (usually $13) and get the room IF I can rebid I usually get it by raising about $5 - saving $8 - not big deal but as much as we travel, it adds up. I used this strategy today after reading yesterday's priceline win for Erie.
  19. First bid accepted. Total of $142.41 or $47.47 a night. YES!! Used links but wasn't logged in - hope that doesn't make a difference.
  20. Per Hotwire-- Comp Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Business Center Also stated Recommended in 90% of customer reviews $56 a night - total for 3 nights $192.15 or average of 62.05. FYI was bidding in Columbia Northeast on PRICELINE. Not sure what is happening. Got our priceline room a week ago at 3* Holiday Inn and Suites for $40 and tonight tried to get second room and went to $55 and couldn't get a thing. That's why I ended up here with HOTWIRE. Am happy with this. Used BB link to HOTWIRE. Hampton Inn website says lowest price would be $329.67. Great Deal!!!!!
  21. First offer of $45 accepted. Total for 3 nights $158.76. Went to hotel website - their lowest rate, paid in advance, nonrefundable was $376 for same dates. Used BB links to PRICELINE.
  22. Started at $55 with chosen area - 13 -Univ of Washington, rejected; added area 2 and bid $60, rejected; added area 3 and bid $65 rejected; added area 4 and bid $70, rejected; added area 5 and bid $75 BINGO. Did this for son and family - hope it is a great hotel. Looks neat. Their Bid Early and Save rate is $130. Total here is $98. Not as big a savings as usual but still good. Used BB PRICELINE link. Now to try and find something for Eugene Oregon. Grandson is taking "unofficial visits" to check out schools where he may end up playing football.
  23. First try bid of $40 was accepted. Total for 12 days $$505.78. This is a very nice hotel. Stayed there last week and was delighted to get it again. Last week I bid $45 thought I'd try for a real bargain this week. Now can't help but wonder how low could I have gone? Some people are never happy. LOL Thanks BB - used your PRICELINE links.
  24. Accepted on first try which was for 3/10-17/2010 for $45 a night. Actually went in for 3/10 thru 3/14. Like the hotel so extended to 3/17. I also booked 1 room for 3/13-15 for same price. Will probably extend that booking also. Noticed a note that you can usually extend up to 11:00 am of checkout day. Have never noticed that before. Skinny on hotel - free parking, free internet. The "guaranteed lowest internet" rate from their website would be a total of $747.03 ($74.03 taxes etc.) With BB's help our total is $370.41 including $55.41 in taxes and fees. Couldn't do this without the help of Better Bidding and I tell everyone I meet about U! Thanks again.
  25. Don't really know which territory this room is in. Am thinking it is Northwest. Started out with 2.5* in Ft. Jackson area and bid of $45; rejected with caveat could take offer for $58 a night. Added Northwest area and rebid at $50. Accepted for 2 rooms. Total for both rooms $460.16 or $57.52 including taxes and fees. Still $20 less without taxes than I could have gotten elsewhere. You guys are the best and can't say how much I appreciate you. Started the day out trying for a 3* in Northwest - aiming for Courtyard which we had last week. Started out at $40, rejected; added area 6 Fort Jackson at $43, rejected; added area 7 Lexington at $45, rejected and finally went to $50 and add area 2 Columbia Airport and rejected again. Wasn't sure if I could go back in again using a different star level but it worked. Used BB PRICELINE links.
