  1. Denied at $55 and $60 also. May have to roll the dice on 2.5*.
  2. About 6 weeks ago, I was able to get the Paso Robles Courtyard at the 3* level for $65. I have a few days to try this out so I tried $45 this time and was rejected. I then added nearby Atascadero, upped the bid to $50, kept the star level and was also rejected. The hotel list for these areas isn't really complete so don't think I'll try the 2.5* level just yet. I'll be bidding again tomorrow. Used the BB link, btw.
  3. I was asked by the Michigan guy to follow up this post with the results of my search. I ended up never bidding on a hotel in this district for these dates.
  4. I had a typo in my post, not sure how to edit, it is actually the Courtyard Marriott, not just Courtyard. Might want to update the hotel list too.
  5. Was rejected at the 2* level in nearby Atascadero, so went with 3* same price in Paso Robles and got it.
  6. Oakland has crazy fees so this was $31 after taxes, but half price.
  7. Didn't get to use the BB link because I was on the road and called this in to a friend who used my account to score this. $52 after taxes. After 10 hours on the road this was a welcome sight.
  8. I ended up never biding on SF Embarcadero, but I have had several other successful PRICELINE's I'll add on here for record. Seeing as how the 2* Best Western is $94 at their site, I wouldn't want to bid over $70. I could also try to get a 3* in Paso Robles, and then move down to 2* Paso and Atascadero if I needed to. I can re-bid later tonight so I'll try some new things then. Thanks
  9. Also was rejected when adding Paso Robles and bumping to $60. That is $75 after fees and I see a 2 star Best Western for $94 with the internet only rate.
  10. Used the BB PRICELINE link. Was rejected at $55 which was half of the list price. Will try again with a higher amount. I could go with Paso Robles too if I really need to.
  11. I did see that the zones were split. I have over a month to get a room so for now I just want to focus on Embarcadero because I'd like to see if I could score the Hilton Financial. Past winning bids in 2008 seem to go from $70-$140 so I'd like to set a limit of $100 for now. Also curious if there is a hotel list for the new Embarcadero zone. Thanks
  12. Would like bidding assistance for 4* in the San Francisco Embarcadero zone for 2 nights 10/24/08 and 10/25/08.
  13. Howdy, I'm about to bid to try to get the Hilton Financial in October (thru the BetterBidding link of course) and I'm confused on what zone to choose for this hotel. My search revealed that everyone bid on USE to get his hotel, however on the priceline map, the Hilton appears to be in the Embarcadero Zone. Also, on the Better Bidding hotel list, it has USE and Embarcadero as one combined zone, although on Priceline they are two separate zones. Here is what I'd like to do: 4* Hotel at or near the Hilton Financial. 2 nights, October 24 and 25. Start bidding at $70, $5 increments. Any advice would be appreciated and thanks for this site.
  14. Started bidding at $50 in $5 increments until $70 was accepted. Total price after taxes $87. Was hoping for Hyatt which is where wedding party is staying but this is right across the street and $62 cheaper.
