  1. Just back from our stay at the Residence Inn N.W. Medical Center. two nights Feb 10th and Feb 11th. It was a nice stay. The room was clean and modern. new Flat screen TV. Breakfast was Okay. the coffee was good . The staff very helpful and friendly. I'd be happy to stay there again.
  2. :) Was hoping to duplicate Wan's priceline success at "the Rim".. Started bidding several days ago at $45 no luck. bumped it up several times , over several days. @ $51 I got 3* Northwest. but a different Residence Inn, San Antonio NorthWest Medical Center , on Bluemel. Bad reviews on trip advisor. :) If the room is not clean as several reviews indicate, what recourse do I have. My previous PriceLine Hotel stays have been good. I did use the BetterBidding link to access PRICELINE.
  3. things seem to change fast. now it looks like there is a 3* in Napa, I have no idea what it is. I'm going to just bid.
  4. Arrive Friday Sept 26th , 2 nights. looks like Hilton Garden is only 2 1/2* in town of Napa for my dates. Showing $229 regular. half would be $115. someone else got the more expensive Mariott , next door , for $120. Different nights , same week. Is $80 too low? I will use this site to access Priceline
  5. Dates are now firm. Arrive at hotel thursday 9/25/2008 , stay 3 nights while visiting Napa Valley. I See a Homewood Suites in Fairfield ,with a Staybridge Suites close by. Both 2 1/2*. Breakfast included. Buildings sound new. Sounds like it's only about 30 minutes drive to St Helena, center of the wine country. How do I bid on this and avoid getting one of the other 2 1/2* hotels in Fairfield ( no breakfast) if the Homewood is about $125 , what should my bid be. If someone recommends something in the town of Napa, I'm open to suggestions. I wasn't going to go below 3* , but the Homewood Suites sounds fairly new and has good reviews.
  6. Thanks Colfax. No We're not in town for the convention. Just thought we'd use up some USAirways frequent flyermiles and take a bargain trip to Nothern California. Our flight gets in at 8:00PM , tuesday sept 25th. I just thought it would be easiest to get a room near the airport and head out in the morning. But we may have to do some driving upon arrival. How far reaching is the convention? How far might we have to drive to avoid it's impact? Our goal is to head to Napa , but could spend a day in San Francisco, or somewhere along the way, to the Wine Country. We could also use an airport room the following week, for our return flight. maybe they will be gone by then.
  7. My first post here. I am looking for a 3* or 4* in Napa. I'd like to stay in Napa, not Sonoma. We will arrive Sept 25 and stay 3 or 4 nights. I'm going to try Priceline for the first time. any bidding strategy help is appreciated. I'm from the East coast and have only visited the Napa valley once. Seems like Napa would be closer , if we are visiting wineries on the road to Calistoga. Those under $100 Famous Priceline deals sound great but $120 would be good, I might have to go to $150.
  8. Sept 23 arriving for one night ( maybe two) SFO Airport. Bid $68 for a 4* , hoping to get the Hyatt. not accepted. I added South SanFrancisco and went up to $75 , still no win. This is my first time on Priceline. I'll reconsider tomorrow. I've also got to find a room in Napa for 3 or 4 nights. I did use this sites link to PRICELINE.
