  1. Room Subtotal:$66.00 Taxes & Fees:$16.96 Total $79.66 Ended up booking last minute from a parking lot, tried a few star levels in a couple areas at rates varying around $50-$60, based this bid on Express Bids price which was about $10 higher and finally got it. Nice place considering...
  2. Was fairly sure this hotel was listed as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at $50 based on amenities, so bid $42 and was rejected, bid $45 with Scranton South and was accepted. Rack rate was $99.
  3. Got rejected for a 3.5* at $45, went for the 3* at $40 and won. Expected this hotel based on previous reports so I'm happy:) As always I used the BetterBidding.com PRICELINE link to purchase:)
  4. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $45.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Fees: $20.42 Total Charged to Card: $110.42 Many failed bids for the Midtown area, this one was accepted on the first go. Figured I would get the Wingate since that is the only 2.5* listed but I am happy with this, the TA reviews are favorable enough and it was half off the book directly price.
  5. I *will* be there for the Highland Games:) I'm going to try a few more PRICELINE bids and if I still haven't turned up a Midtown gem I will probably go with the Southside 3*, it seems the better option. Thanks everyone!
  6. Hello Better Bidding Brain Trust: I am looking for a hotel in Savannah from 5/4-5/6. Hotwire shows a 2.5* for $67/night. Amenities are Free Parking, Complimentary Breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s) I can't ID it off the list here, and I went to Hotwire Vacations and could not find a 2.5* with a restaurant. Any educated guesses? Thanks!
  7. 44% off the going rate...looks like an OK place for a night:)
  8. Reviews look decent so I'm happy. As always, I used the PRICELINE link here on BetterBidding.com!
  9. If I am reading this correctly, On June 17, 2010, you booked a room in New Orleans for May 4-May 9, 2011. Subsequently, the hotel changed names, and the new owners do not want to honor the booking made by previous owners. Hotwire is offering you a refund but you want the room at the rate you booked. In your shoes, I would call Hotwire directly: (1-866-468-9473). In a calm and professional manner explain that 1) You made this booking over six months ago, and being a pre-paid, non-refundable room you relied on the reservation completely. 2) At this point it would be impossible for you to book a similar hotel at that price. 2) You do not want the booking cancelled/refunded, but want the room you booked/pre-paid over six months ago. 3) If they are unable to accommodate you at the hotel you originally booked, you want to be moved to another 2.5* or better hotel in the French Quarter at no additional cost/for the same rate. Obviously the major issue here is that you have virtually no chance of booking another hotel in the French Quarter for those dates at that rate, and are looking at triple the price now due to no fault of your own. What, if anything, Hotwire is willing to do about it is another question. They should be willing to work with you to find alternatives. They few times I have had to use their customer service they've been pretty good, but OTOH this is a situation which is largely beyond their control. Keep us posted, I hope it turns out well for you.
  10. I've done several late night check-ins on Priceline rooms and never had a problem. If in doubt, call the hotel you win and have them note your reservation.
  11. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access As always I used the HOTWIRE link here on BetterBidding.com.
  12. My advice would be to book use Priceline and once you know your hotel, call them directly and say you've made the reservation via PL and would like to request a room with two double beds. I do it all the time (or just request it when checking in), and I would say 98% of the time it's not problem, the 2% that it is a problem it's generally a same day reservation and they don't have any rooms with 2 beds left. Now if what you want is three beds (i.e. a double bed plus a rollaway) you're really at their mercy, but booking in advance and having them put it on your reservation should do the trick.
  13. Used the links here on Better Bidding to place a bid consistent with previous wins. $9.58 taxes=$29.58 total. I agree with other posters that $9.48 on a $20 purchase is a bit excessive, but it's still cheaper that anything else I could find so in the long run a bargain, I guess:)
  14. Started with a $35 bid for 2.5 star, Priceline counter-offered saying if I was willing to bid $8 more I could have it. Since I knew there was a $39 Hotwire 3* available I rejected, dropped the bid to $32, and went with a 2*. Accepted for the Extended Stay Deluxe Houston Katy Freeway. $32+$12.54 taxes/fees=$44.54. As always I used the PRICELINE link here on BetterBidding.com!
  15. We are currently here on comped room, and decided to spend another night. The front desk quoted $99 for the night, so I went on HOTWIRE (via the Better Bidding link, of course!) and got the room for $48 + tax total of $60.38. Amenities listed as: Oceanfront Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Spa Services I'm very pleased, and if anyone has the chance to stay here it's a great place...play the tables for a bit and you're likely to get comped meals, etc. Thanks again to Better Bidding!
  16. As always, used the HOTWIRE Link here on BetterBidding.com. Amenities listed as: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities Tennis Nearby
  17. As always, I was used the HOTWIRE Link here on BetterBidding.com I've been looking for a week and wasn't seeing anything good. But tonight this one popped up and I jumped on it, with a fairly positive feeling it was the Caesars Palace based on the information on the Nevada Hotel List. However, the amenities listed on the main page were: Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby Spa services were NOT listed on the main page, although they were listed once the hotel was revealed. That was the only question if this might be something other than the Caesars Palace. I am very pleased:) I will try the $20 Trick once I get there and hope for a suite! Thanks again for BetterBidding.com for the free service!
  18. I just saw the same hotel for $75 for 2/28-3/3, minus Golf. Based on the hotel list, my best guess is the Planet Hollywood. although it could be a new addition, too...
  19. Went with the 'low' previously shown for this hotel and was accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $36.00 Subtotal: $72.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.22 Total Charges*: $89.22 I've stayed here before so I'm glad to get it for this price:) As always I used the PRICELINE link here on Better Bidding.
  20. $51/nightx3+$27.51 fees=$180.51. Tried for a 3* and was rejected, accepted at the 2.5* level. The lowest rate offered on the website is $109 per night, so over 50% off! I am very pleased with this hotel win! As always, I used the PRICELINE link here on BetterBidding.com to start my bid:) Oops, I dropped a t from Mariott in the title and can't edit it...
  21. Tried for a 4* in the French Quarter for $55, bid was rejected with a counter offer of $15 additional, which I declined. Tried 4* Convention/Business at $46 hoping to repeat the sucess of other bidders in getting the Hilton Riverside, but was declined. Then tried 3.5* back in French Quarter, and was accepted for the Wyndham Bourbon Orleans. I am quite please, the location is great and it seems on par with the 4*'s in the area, plus it has pretty great reviews. The complaints seem to be mainly about the parking fees, which at $30/night is par for the course in the FQ so I don't know what everyone is having a riot about LOL. Of course I used the PRICELINE link here for my bids, and the valuable information contained in the forum. Thanks again!
  22. Nothing other than what is listed above. I believe it is the Wakulla Suites, which oddly doesn't show up on Expedia (Hotwire's sibling), but after a bit of searching on other travel sites it would appear to match up with the amenities listed.
  23. I can't figure this one out, so I turn to the Better Bidding Brain Trust: I'm looking at the dates of 11/08-11/12. Hotwire is showing a 2.5* in Cocoa Beach for $63/night with the following amenities: Condo Beachfront 2-Bedroom Full Kitchen Non-Smoking Pool 24 Hour front desk Laundry Sounds nice, but I'm completely unable to match it to anything...any thoughts? Thanks! EDIT: After a bit more poking around, I think it's probably the Wakulla Suites.
  24. Amenities listed as Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access $49 + $10.21 taxes= $59.21 It wouldn't have been much more to book direct, but oh well:)
