Thank you for your input. I think you are right Madflyer. I personally was hoping to find Westin Palace. Hasn't been around for some time. I'll keep looking to see if they return. If I think I see them I'll use the HOTWIRE links on the board to purchase.

Doesn't look like anything seen before. Is it a change of amenities for a usual hotel pick on HOTWIRE or is it a new offer? Anyone have an idea? Thank you.

I purchased 2 rooms at Harbour Court Intercontinental 3 nights for $ 134 per night plus tax Amenities FITNESS, POOL, RESTAURANT, BUSINESS CENTER, INTERNET ACCESS. I'm very pleased with that deal. I thought I recalled that LAUNDRY Amenity from a previous purchase, but after double checking it's not for Intercontinental. So the amenities do match INTERCONTINENTAL. Is that also your opinion? Some other research through Expedia and tripadvisor brings me to Marriott Waterfront and The Renaissance. Do you have an opinion on that one? Thank you Thereuare.

Hello, I have just come up with a hotel I had not yet seen and I would appreciate help in Identifying. Search is for 2 rooms 10/27/09 through 10/30/09. I'm coming up with : 4 Star Hotel $ 134 per room per night, amenities GYM, POOL, RESTAURANT, BUSINESS CENTER, INTERNET in that order. Tripadvisor 3.5. Doesn't match Previous amenities for Hilton or Hyatt, nor does it match Intercontinental that used to have LAUNDRY. Does anyone have a clue before I use HOTWIRE to book. Thank you.

Thank you for the Info. Follow up was done. There is now a new puzzling offer for 5* El Centro Old Madrid at $189 with Amenities RESTAURANT, BUSINESS, INTERNET but no mention of TripAdvisor rating. Dates are Oct 02 till Oct 5. If it is for Westin Palace it is still a good deal. But the Amenities don't match previous Match, specifically the one in the follow up I made. Does anyone have an Idea of what this offer could be? Thank you.

I Used the HOTWIRE link to Reserve : 5 * Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, Internet. That turned out to be a match for Westin Palace. Room Rate $184. May 31st 8 nights.

I am getting two offers that could interest me but I am having trouble Identifying the Hotels. 5* & 4* Madrid El Centro Old Madrid 5* FITNESS, POOL, RESTAURANT, BUSINESS CENTER, INTERNET, SPA. MELIA Princesa used to have those with Suite added. Is the new set of Amenities still MELIA PRINCESA? I was thinking it could be a new Hotel at HOTWIRE for example URBAN. Thank you for your help.

Hi Thereuare. You are right, that option is no longer showing up for those dates. If you try for May 23rd through 31st it should be in the list. I've been doing some research based on the Tripadvisor criterias of the HOTWIRE result. My guess is that the match is for AC Santo Mauro Hotel . Previously the 5-star hotel in El Centro - Old Madrid was known to be the Westin Palace. Currently the choice for that description has different amenities: Suite Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business center High speed internet access Spa services The search I made at HOTWIRE, that shows this choice, is for May 16th through the 23rd going for 120 a night. Does anyone know what hotel is the match for this description? Thank you.

Thank you llggbb and thereuare for your insight. Yes the situations are similar. The cache explanation seems like the right one to me. However, in that case I don't understand why the price shows up different from day to day. If the offer from Hotwire is sincere it would mean that the room was available for a very short time and was grabbed by another client leaving the cache for the rest of us. I finally opted for another Hotel. Hope everyone keeps sharing their experience because this website is a great info source, and don't forget to use the support page links from this website.

Hi thereuare. Got your message. Dates are 10/02 to 10/06. Just tried again. The Hotel showed up at a different price today. $209 instead of $199 yesterday. Same results. Not available. Used the forum link HOTWIRE to get to the Hotwire website.

Follow UP: I pursued my investigation in the matter. I opened a TRIP WATCHER on HOTWIRE and noticed that when the hotel shows up in the search it doesn't show in the TRIP WATCH. I'm not sure what to think of this. Hope U got my Message thereuare.

OK. Going further into the option COLFAX suggested I decided to send Hotwire a Customer care question. I'll post the answer when I get it. "Hello. For the past month I've been renewing my search and everytime that offer comes up, I've been trying to purchase it ( I've tried about 15 times ). I've seen that offer at different prices ranging from $199 to $225. I consistently received error messages 111 or 405. This matter has been discussed on travel Forums and I am puzzled as to why Hotwire would repeatedly propose a Hotel they actually have no real offer for. I really hope you won't give me the same answers you have given me previously about being able to make another choice from the list. That's not my question. The question is, does hotwire in its search results show choices that are actually and knowingly unavailable. :) Guess what! I checked today for the same Itinerary. Madrid 5 star El Centro - Old Madrid. Got an offer with a different price $ 203. It looked like an update. Bingo! UNAVAILABLE. By the way, that's a match for the Westin Palace in Madrid. It's a great choice and if that price was for real it would be a fantastic offer at this time of the year. I can't understand why Hotwire would keep offering something they don't have available.

I followed your advice Colfax. This is what happened. At first it sounded like they were going to be able to reserve the Hotel I have been trying to book. Then suddenly they gave me a run around, asking me what other choice I had. I insisted that I wanted my firts choice. They responded I needed to change that choice. I asked if my choice would become available. They restated I had to change. I asked why my choice kept showing up in the search. No response to my question, just that I could make another choice. Conclusion: No help and no insight from customer service. Just for your info this is the choice that keeps coming up and that cannot be booked. 5-star hotel in El Centro - Old Madrid $ 199.
