  1. Thanks so much, because it's November I'd prefer elsewhere so that my kids can swim. Although that's tempting because it is a decent price.
  2. Sorry! So long ago that I had to think about what we did, we ended up staying with friends in Lincoln Park.
  3. Sorry that I never replied! We ended up staying with friends in Lincoln Park~no hotel needed.
  4. November 5-7, 2 adults, 2 kids. 3.5* in Downtown Toronto West. FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby. $73USD. I thought it might be the Hilton but the Tripadvisor ratings don't match up. Thought Radisson but then would it show pool as an amenity if it only has an outdoor pool? We'd like to be somewhere where we don't need a car, doing stuff like hockey hall of fame and other touristy things with kids. Thanks!
  5. I apologize, I completely forgot to reply. We did end up booking through HOTWIRE (using your link) and my uncle was really happy with his stay at the Hyatt. Aaron was a huge help trying to book during an expensive time in the city.
  6. Thank you for all the help with this--Aaron was amazing at helping me through a tricky time to book in Chicago! My uncle and cousin ended up having a great stay, and were really pleased with the hotel. I did use the HOTWIRE link on your site. Thanks again! (please note that we paid $288/Canadian per night, I'm not sure what the US conversion was at that time)
  7. Thank you, Aaron. I'm thinking August 6-9th. Lollapalooza is over on the 2nd (just looked) so that should be okay timing-wise I think. Likely go to the Cubs game on the 6th as we should get into the city by 2:00 in the afternoon at the latest-leaving Minneapolis early in the morning. Should I move this over to the Hotwire section? how do I do that? ha. thanks!
  8. We are traveling to Chicago in August for 3-4 nights. We haven't picked dates yet because we are pretty flexible within the first 2 weeks of August. We will be driving. Our kids are 9 and 12. We know we want to go to the Museum of Science, and to see a Cubs game. That's all we know for sure. What area would you recommend we stay in? We are driving so have a car, but we also don't mind taking public transportation to get around. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on where you'd stay! Trying to keep it to $200/night or less with taxes and fees, but will figure that out once I start bidding in an area. Thanks, Erin
  9. How confident are you that it's the Hyatt? He currently has the Inn of Chicago for $300 and Courtyard by Marriott for $330. The Hyatt seems like a much better option at $288 (Cdn-that's what I see). Thanks.
  10. I think they would be. When I search it says it's $289/Canadian. I'd that the 4.5*? I am searching with 2 adults/2 kids in hopes of getting 2 beds. Thanks for your help! Erin
  11. He has a tentative booking and a bit of a family crisis means I've been out of commission to help him for the last month. But I'm going to look right now on the off chance there's a 'deal' now that it's so close.
  12. Also, I think that same 3.5 might be on Priceline.express deals for $223. Marriott? Is that the one on Hubbard?
  13. There are two that I'm curious about... Searching 2/2 for October 16-20. $255 MM/River North 3 1/2* 90% recommended. Amenities: fitness, pool, business, restaurant, internet Loop... 4* $276/night 100% recommended boutique hotel. Amenities: pets, boutique, restaurant, fitness, internet, laundry, business. My brain is so fried from looking that it feels a bit mushy Thank you again for your help.
  14. Thank you. I notice there is a 3 1/2* on Hotwire. Should I post on there if I want help identifying it?
  15. I'd like to keep this open, but as of right now we are still watching prices and hoping they improve a little. I will update as the date gets closer. Thanks for all the help.
  16. What do you think of the W Lakeshore? I'd be going for Lincoln park if it was me... Again, Aaron, thank you. I tried messaging you to say thank you but it wouldn't let me.
  17. You're great, Aaron. Thank you so much for all your help. I'm not going to take a chance with beds by bidding. I've decided to keep looking at Hot.wire options. I agree with you that that Lincoln Park option is best-but they want to be closer to the pier for some reason. The Allegro (spelling) seems like it's in a bit of an awkward spot. So, I'm going to keep looking. I'll keep you updated, and again-thank you.
  18. The prices seem better than they did a few days ago, so that's a bit of a relief. If I try bidding again, what zones would you suggest? Millenium park and north michigan?
  19. Thank you. There are 2 adults. It's a father/son combo so they could share a bed if absolutely necessary, but both are adults so would rather not. I'm going to try the 2A/2K combo--but let me know what you find. Again, thank you.
  20. I would be interested in either of those if you think the locations are good. They'll mostly be walking, so are hoping for somewhere with restaurants and attractions close by. I think both would do it? I'm searching Hotwire with 4 adults in hopes of getting two beds. I am also searching in Canadian dollars which is likely changing my results.
  21. Thank you, Aaron. Maybe I'll try only NMA but will add the 3 1/2 star option. Is that what you would do? As for previous wins, not sure why but I was blocked from posting in the past. If I hadn't been I would certainly have posted.
  22. I forgot to add~I think he would like to stay under $225, but the flights are booked so for the right location and hotel I'm sure he'd go higher. I think they'd also stay at a 3* if it was decent.
  23. Ah, at least I don't feel crazy! He's flying in, going to a football game and then wanting to sightsee. Won't have a car, so he thought that area would be best. Thank you for your help.
  24. I've been following these boards, and bidding via your links for years now. I have never encountered a wall like this, am I bidding too early? My uncle needs a room in Chicago from October 16-20. I have gone as high as $180 for a 4* in both Millennium Park and North Michigan and can't get anything. Am I bidding too early? Thank you.
