  1. I don’t know why the win says $213... sure I put $273 CAD. $209 USD.
  2. Thank you! You were correct - it was the Loews Hollywood. We are really happy with the price of this hotel for a busy season in LA. 274.23 CAD nightly rate ($209 USD) for a total of 1003.78 CAD after taxes and fees and a $30 coupon. Thank you thank you thank you for all of your help!
  3. Thank you. I'm still watching, and hoping that something comes up a little cheaper - or that Loews deal goes down slightly, but we may just see if there's a decent March coupon and then book. Has anybody gotten the Loews Santa Monica? We're wondering if we're better off staying in a beach area for the three days we are in LA. It's not on the list but thought I'd inquire. Thanks again for the assistance, Erin
  4. Thank you. Do you have any thoughts on this in terms of it being a good option or not? I know July is going to be expensive, so I don't feel like it's too bad -- however after taxes/fees and the exchange rate I'm looking at nearly $1000.00 Cdn for 3 nights. Thanks for your input.
  5. Thanks for your reply - The dates are 20-23rd, so the 3 nights. We were just trying to figure out if we needed 2 in LA and 6 in Anaheim, or 3 in LA and 5 in Anaheim. We decided to go with the latter. We'll likely use Uber/Lyft while we are in LA, and then will rent a car leaving LA and through our time in San Diego. That being said, if we happen to get a hotel that doesn't charge for parking then we may rent from LA through to SD. We've never had a problem getting a fridge when we've travelled with our son, however if we couldn't then I'm sure the hotel could store it - or we could travel with a small cooler and could put it on ice. We'd figure it out. Thanks.
  6. We have cancelled our flights, and our reservation at Noble Den, and are going to California. A few reasons why - the main being we need some heat, and need to relax. Thanks for the continued help on this board, I appreciate it. I'm not sure how to close this thread?
  7. Flights are changed. Noble Den is cancelled. So, we are committed to California. It's been a long (and freezing) winter, and we decided to go the LA/Disney/San Diego route. Flights are July 20 - 31st. LA will be either the 20/21 for 2 nights, or 20/21/22 for 3 nights. Our budget is that I'd prefer to keep it to $300 a night including taxes and fees if possible, but could go higher for the perfect location and hotel. We will not have a car. Our plans include Universal, Hollywood hills/sign, Walk of fame...standard tourist spots. My original search above was 2 adults/2 children. We need 2 beds, or a king and large pull out - but preferably 2 beds. Biggest concerns are location, that there's a pool, and a fridge in the room due to storage of medication. Thanks! I'll end that NYC thread.
  8. Also, do you think what I'm seeing on Priceline is the same hotel? Am I risking getting only one bed if I use Priceline? It's quite a bit cheaper ($40USD when all is said and done with the discounts) which makes a difference because this trip is adding up quickly!
  9. Thank you! I'm still seeing it. Just trying to decide if that's about the best we'll do for these dates. Any insight on location? We'll only be in LA for 3 days/2 nights, then heading to Anaheim and SD. I'm also searching for hotels in those cities, should I start a new thread if looking for help there? Thank you.
  10. We are considering changing flights and moving a summer trip from New York to California. 2 nights near universal, 5 near Disneyland, then 4 in San Diego. Any suggestions on this one in Hollywood area? July 20-22nd, $209/night. 4* Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Business center Fitness center Golf nearby Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Thank you!
  11. Replying to this. My in-laws did end up getting the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf. I can't tell you details about where/how they booked, they did't wait for me to help them before booking on their own! It was a bit of a dud in that it was dingy and needs an overhaul, but we called the hotel directly and they treated them well for their anniversary. I have a feeling I could have saved them $100 a night doing it for them via PRICELINE but that's okay!
  12. So that you're updated - We booked the NobleDen but can cancel without penalty up to 72 hours before. I'm going to try using Hotwire/Priceline again in the new year and see if the prices are any better. Right now we are paying $233 at the NobleDen which ends up being quite a bit cheaper than $230 for Hy36 due to the added fees. It's a totally different feel, but we think we're okay with that - we aren't sure the craziness of Midtown is for us. But, I'll search again in a few months. Thanks for all the help, Erin
  13. I'm trying to book my in-laws 4 nights in San Francisco. They've decided to go fairly last minute and I'm not seeing much in terms of availability. Any advice in terms of using Hotwire vs. Priceline? Thank you~ Erin
  14. Wow. There's no way my husband could pull that off! I love him, but he wouldn't even know where to find my passport... Impressive.
  15. Thank you! We are still deciding between Crowne Plaza and the NobleDen. I keep changing my mind on what would give us all a more 'New York' experience. I may book the NobleDen because there's no cancellation fee and then search again as it gets closer. We have decided not to tell the kids until the day before we leave. We will see if I can actually do that... ;) Thank you again for your help, I'll let you know as soon as we decide.
  16. That is making more sense to me-and yes, we would be willing to take they chance. Can you just confirm for me the * rating, amenities and location that I'm looking at on Hotwire for the HY36? $230 4* Madison Square Garden and: Business center Fitness center Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms free internet accessible
  17. Thank you. I got the rate from NobleDen - it's $1083.48 for the four nights after all taxes. Thoughts on that? Have you been there or know someone who has? Of the options you listed I'm most interested in the Crowne Plaza. What do you think the chances of getting two beds would be? It's $230, is there an additional discount on top of that? We aren't comfortable doing two rooms with our kids, we did it recently and the rooms were not connected which made us uncomfortable. The Park South looks okay as well, the other properties don't look great. Erin
  18. Thanks for your reply. I am okay with double occupancy if there's a bed choice option. Our son is only 12, but almost 6 feet tall so I think a bed is necessary over a pull out if I'm expecting his sister to share a bed with him. The rate at NobleDen is $233/night plus taxes for a room with two double beds. They will take 5% off the whole stay, I've asked the question if that's 5% off the rate or the rate with taxes. Waiting to hear back. thanks, Erin
  19. We are starting to plan a trip to the US in July. We are flying into New York on July 11th, and home from Boston on July 27th. Everything between those dates is flexible - like I said, just starting to plan. Our kids are 12 and 14, and don't yet know that they're coming on this trip. It's for our 20th anniversary so they think they're staying home...but they aren't! I've started looking for hotels in New York from the 11th-15th of July, but I'm already a little overwhelmed. We have the NobleDen tentatively booked - I understand that it's on the edge of Little Italy and Chinatown, I'm not sure if this is the right area for us to be in in terms of a central location. However, I also know that transportation won't be hard to get to from there. We are really open to listening to others in terms of what the best area to stay in with our kids is - so even across the river with a view of the city is something we'd consider. We definitely aren't experts on locations in New York. I'd prefer a 4* or better, July 11-15th, and would prefer to stay around $250 US if possible (our dollar is terrible compared to the US dollar) but honestly if the hotel is perfect then we'd spend up to $400/night. Thank you for your help! Also, if we are looking way too early please tell me! Erin
  20. Thank you! I used the PRICELINE link, and this Express deal was indeed the Renaissance. $121 CDN/night, with the added fees and then the BB discount the two nights were $289.32 Cdn. Very happy with the location of this hotel, and think it will fit our needs nicely! Thanks so much for the help. Happy, thanks for all the help!
  21. Thank you! The Hilton is the most attractive to me of those options. When I look at Priceline Express Deaks what do you think the 4* with the bed choice is for $93? Fairmont?
  22. I definitely want to book, am happy to do so if I can get something nice for $150 USD or $200 Cdn per night. If it's somewhere average then I'll take my chances and will wait. Hope that makes sense!
  23. On Priceline, $95/night - 4* Toronto Southwest. Thoughts on this one? I apologize, I think that's USD and my guest searches on Hotwire were Cdn. That does make a difference- would like to stick to under $150/night if USD. Again, November 5-7. This option gave me a bed choice- so would work for 4 of us Pet Friendly, Business Center, Restaurant, Internet, Swimming Pool, Gym/Spa, Non-Smoking.
  24. I am still looking but prices seem higher- I'm okay paying $200/night as it's only for two nights but will wait if it should go down before then. Thoughts?
