I booked a 3 star hotel in McAllen Texas on HOTWIRE, The Holidome, and it was a joke. Beware, this is at best a 1 star hotel. It is the old Holiday Inn, and the place is a dump. Looks like some local investor bought it and is running it as just a dive hotel. The pool had so much algea in it you could not even see the bottom. I have a long list of other issues I will not get into, but trust me do youself a favor and go for the 2 or 2.5* hotels from a national company.
