Booked, just as I expected from the hotel list: 4* Hotel Palomar Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business $119 from 8/9/10 to 8/11/10 And yes, I did remember to use the HOTWIRE link. Odd thing is that when I first did the search, it came up for $122. But after I left the page open for a while and it asked me if I wanted to update, it came back with a slightly lower price.

I took a gamble on this one even though it didn't precisely match anything on the hotel list. Figured it was a safe gamble given the 95% recommend and 500+ reviews. Amenities were: Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High-speed Internet Access Maybe the pool is currently out of commission? And yes, I did use the HOTWIRE link.

4* The Dupont Hotel $173 from 5/3/10 to 5/4/10 Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Just spotted today and jumped on it right away. And yes, I did use the HOTWIRE link.

4* Donovan House - a Thompson Hotel Amenities: Boutique, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Exactly as shown in the hotels list. My favorite hotel in DC! Always a treat when I see them show up on Hotwire.

Never stayed at this one before. Amenities were fitness, laundry, business, and restaurant.

I ended up playing it safe and booking a confirmed hotel on the Hotwire list. White House-Capitol Hill 3* Four Points Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Laundry $119 for 5/11-5/13/09

I will not be booking this one, as my travel dates have changed to the week of May 11 instead.

My last one couldn't be identified unfortunately, so let's try another, with slightly later dates. Amenities are: Suites Smoke Free Complimentary Breakfast Pool Business Internet Kitchenette I really want it to be the Embassy Suites, but the hotel's official website shows both smoking and non-smoking rooms so it probably isn't. Ideas, anyone? Thanks!!

I just booked this for one night on 3/6/09 for $104 (after taxes, $124.89). Exactly as listed on the Hotwire hotel list: 3.5* Westin New Orleans at Canal Place Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business As always, I used the HOTWIRE link to begin my purchase.

I needed to extend my stay by one day, and was able to get another night at the Sofitel for the same price on Feb 3. 4.5* Sofitel Lafayette Square White House-Capitol Hill Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Booked for $132 for one night on 2/3/09, 1 adult I used the HOTWIRE link, as usual.

Hotwire showed this as a 4.5* instead of a 4*, but the amenities matched the Sofitel, so I took a leap of faith and booked it. And yep, it was the Sofitel. 2-star, Washington DC-Dupont Circle/Embassy Row, Comfort Inn 9/9-9/11/08, $135 per night Booked today, 8/14 Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access 20+ customer reviews (3.5 out of 5) I stayed here earlier this year (April or May) and remember being pleasantly surprised by the amenities. The free breakfast includes a fun make-your-own-pancake machine. The fitness center is very small, but free. The business center appeared to have a couple of computers set up for (free?) public use. I used the wireless internet--also free. Walking distance to Whole Foods. The decor is nothing special and the view from my room was of a brick wall, but the location is such that I don't have to take the red line during rush hour, so it's worth it.
