  1. Let me first say that I am an extreme nerd when it comes to getting a good deal on hotels. I have turned plenty of people on to this website and for priceline in general. But, it was stressful to book THREE hotel rooms for a ski vacation using my father in laws credit card. Thank goodness I did my homework! As for this trip, it's finally time for me to branch out there and impress my wife with my better bidding skills in Vegas. I have only spent a total of ONE night in Las Vegas when I was moving someone to Reno, Nevada. On that instance I used hotwire and got the Monte Carlo for a respectable $89 on a weekend. But, now I am trying to book a trip for the very busy July 4th holiday and would appriciate any advice! The dates are July 1-5th for a total of four nights. I have seen the "horror" stories when it comes to the Trump but I don't guess it would be a big deal for me since I'm not a huge gambler. My wife and I want to see the sights and visit the dam but also want to be right in the middle of all of the action. Here's what I've come up with so far. The WORST case I've seen that i'd be happy with outside of hotwire/priceline is the booking directly through the Monte Carlo website. For a basic room after tax it is listed as $450 for my dates. I figure this is how I want to approach the bidding... Priceline (after tax) Bid of $70 = 318 Bid of $80 = 363 Bid of $90 = 407 Now, the one thing I'm not sure is which star levels and locations to try first. And, is now (Feb) too early to start the bidding? I would say to start with 5* in Strip North, then add 5* Strip South? Let me know your thoughts. THANK YOU!!!
  2. I've used this service MANY times for hotels but I don't have a clue on the best way (hotwire or priceline) to get the best deal on a rental car. Here are my specifics.... let me know what you think! Thanks! I need anything that I can fit my family of four in. (van, suv, but hopefully something with space and good gas mileage) Tuesday November 25 - Saturday November 29th at the airport. Thanks again!
  3. For next Saturday night (Sept 13) I got the Residence Inn off 280 in the Inverness area for $50. As I said in a previous post any of th 2.5* in the area seem to be a deal. I tried a three star for the same price with no luck. I keep trying for the Hyatt Place! (My favorite hotel!!!) Also, I bid from $40-$45 with no luck.
  4. I kept trying to get a 3* for around this price, but every 2.5* in the area seems to be worth a try. For this weekend (Sept 6th) I was able to snag this hotel for $50. I tried $40 and $45 with no luck over the past week.
  5. Yes, I just put in those two bids. Since I had a few weeks until the trip I figured I'd have to bid up to about $65 or so according to the boards. I was also able to use the extra cash ($5 a night) deal that was in my profile. Sorry... the actual dates are September 26-28.
  6. :) Just bid for resort level hotel on priceline for the last weekend in September and got the Hilton inside the Walt Disney World Resort for $55. I tried $45 the day before with no success. Good luck! Has anyone found any good deals from the Orlando (SANFORD) airport for car rentals? Everywhere I look it is pretty much the same and you can't even name your own price for Sanford. :::sigh:::
