  1. followed the strategy for Priceline and got the Marriott Suites for $80. Am very pleased. Was the toughest PRICELINE bidding I have ever done. thanks for the help and encouragement.
  2. Good afternoon, I tried bidding for a 3.5* hotel in the Disneyland area yesterday. I started at $50 and then increased the bid and added a zone all the up to $70 and using the additional 8 zones plus the Disneyland zone. My bids were not accepted. I thought I would try again today but wasn't sure where the best place to start was. Should I start again at $50 and increase a little more each time up to about $75? On hotwire there is a 4* for $88 which looks like it might be the Marriott Suites. If I get too close to the $88 I might as well do the Hotwire, since I have a small sense of what that hotel might be. What is your opinion of my bidding strategy? I know that a lot of the hotels have much higher rates for 3/5 than for 3/4. Could that be the reason for the bids not being accepted? I thought it was still the slower season but maybe something is going on in Anaheim that week. thanks for the help.

The suite would make me think of the Marriott Suties, but the free internet throws me off since they don't offer free internet except in public areas. thanks for the help.

  9. I am looking for a 4* in downtown Vancouver for September 20-23, 2012 I have tried Priceline up to $120 with no success. Hotwire currently has a 4* for $132.00 fitness Pool Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Accessible for the deaf accessible path of travel in room accessibility accessible bathroom handicapped parking roll-in shower recommended by 90% of Hotwire customer reviews What hotel would you think this is? Am I too early for Priceline or is the fact that this is a weekend near the end of cruise season going to make it harder to get a better deal? thanks for your help.
  10. We are planning a trip to Vancouver Sept 20-23, 2012. We would like to stay Downtown. I have checked Hotwire a couple of times and played with Priceline just to see what things were looking like. How far in advance should I really get serious? Is it too soon? Thanks.
  11. Started bidding about 3 days ago at $85. Kept rebidding by adding zones. Could rebid approx 8 times each day with the different zones. Based on what other people got, I thought it would accept around $110 - $120. I am very pleased.
  12. Doing a family trip to disneyland. There will be 5 in the car plus a puppy on the way home. It is a 8 hour car ride. We own a Sienna, so that is our option. Though with 150,000 miles on it and a few recent repairs we thought we might want to leave the Sienna at home and give it a rest. For $600, it looks like the Sienna will be making the trip and we will all be riding with fingers crossed. In this economy - for those prices - I can't imagine they are renting too many of these cars. Thanks for the help. I will let you know how it works out.
  13. It was not quoted as a daily rate, but as a weekly rate for the 5 days . Divided out the daily rate would be $ 116 per day.
  14. As of today, I can find a weekly rate of $581.49 for a week plus taxes of 50.88.
  15. I booked direct with the hotel. I called them instead of going through their website.
  16. I don't recall where I saw that rate. Everything I have seen recently has been more in the $ 700 + range.
  17. Decided on Embassy Suites - got a good price and the breakfast worked out well with the kids. Thanks for the help.
  18. I am interested in renting a minivan for 8/8-8/13. Can be from the airport or in the city. The prices are extremely high. The lowest I have seen was around $ 550 per week. I would like to get it for under $ 35 a day. Is that realistic or possible?
