  1. Long time member, first time using HOTWIRE / PRICELINE in about 6 years. After unsuccessfully bidding up to $110 for a 4* and up on priceline I decided to stick with hotwire's offer of $112 for a 4* Waikiki Marina hotel which I was 90% sure was going to be the Prince. Stayed here a quite a few years back on another Hotwire purchase and pleased to be coming back again. Cheapest price on the hotel's website for those dates were $199/night. Amenities: Near Beach Oceanfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Used the betterbidding HOTWIRE link to place my purchase.
  2. I originally bidded $40 and it was rejected but with a 'suggestion' that if I bidded $12 more I would have a better chance. I first tried to enter an amount less than $12 but got an error message saying that I needed to bid higher by at least $12. Since this was my only PL account and I needed the room I went ahead and plugged in $52 knowing I would probably get it. Since I was doing this from work I didn't have time to try the free re-bidding techniques using different zones and star levels but overall I'm pretty happy with the rate compared to the rate the hotel was charging ($129).
  3. $52/night for 2 nights. I was fully expecting to get the Holiday Inn Select La Mirada since it looks like that property comes up alot and had a price of $89/night per their website. Residence Inn was $129/night per their website for these days so I'm pleased. Check-In Date: Friday, December 9, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, December 11, 2005 Hotel Name: Residence Inn Cypress Los Alamitos 4931 Katella Avenue Los Alamitos, California 90720 714-484-5700 Your Offer Price: $52.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $104.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $20.01 Total Charges: $124.01
  4. I'd also track the rates for your particular dates on the Venetian website and on Hotwire. If the price starts to go down on both of those websites for the dates you want then there's a good chance priceline's price also went down.
  5. Check-In Date: Sat, Sep 11, 2004 Your Offer Price: $85.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $85.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.37 Total Charges: $100.37 I think this is the same hotel Hotwire was offering for $82 (near strip east), I was hoping to get one of the other 3* hotels but this will do. It's right accross the Hard Rock so the location is ok.
  6. Got the Venetian for $99 on Sunday night. :) The Venetian Check-In Date: Sunday, September 12, 2004 Check-Out Date: Monday, September 13, 2004 Your Offer Price: $99.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $99.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.97 Total Charges: $115.97 MOD: Please edit the title, the Venetian is a 5*
  7. We stayed at the Atlantis on 7/3 and got a tower room. I called the Atlantis a few days before check in to request a tower room, non smoking, king bed and thats what they gave us. I should've asked for a high floor since the room we got had a view of the air conditiong unit :)
  8. Santa Cruz is tough to get a great deal on since there's only one 3* (Hilton which is actually in Scotts Valley) and one 4* (Chaminade) and only one zone.
  9. Started with $55 and went up $5 using regions that don't have 4* as free rebids till I got $70. going to do some research about cheaper (and safe) parking in the area, I want to try to avoid the $38/night valet fee....... MOD: Please edit title.....I got the Hyatt Regency NOT the Grand Hyatt...my bad :)
  10. Just wondering what most peoples experiences are with Priceline/Hotwire rooms. Do most hotels give their worst rooms to PL/HW customers? I've used Priceline twice. The Monterey Hilton gave me a room that was on the bottom floor, next to the street, next to the doorway and ice machine. Hawaii Prince hotel on the other hand seemed to have given me a 'normal' room, nothing bad to say about it at all. My one hotwire experience, the Atlantis in Reno gave me a 5th floor tower room with a great view of the large green air conditioning unit outside my window. The room itself was in good condition otherwise.
  11. Amenities are Casino, Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf & Tennis & Spa (note: Click more hotel info to see the spa amenity). This is also listed as a "Customer Favorite". Stayed here for a Sat. night. I bidded up to $45 for a 4* (Reno area) on priceline before taking the Hotwire offer. We stayed in a tower room on the 5th floor but the view we had was of a large A/C unit that was in front of our window. Didnt mind too much since we were only staying one night.
