  1. I am trying to figure out which hotel is the 2.5-star hotel in Chapel Hill for Oct 24-26 listed on Hotwire for $129.00 per night. The only feature is a swimming pool.
  2. HOTWIRE has a 2 1/2 star hotel in Chapel Hill for $129 on October 24-26. Do you know what hotel this is?
  3. To clear things up, it was a Hotwire hit for the 16th at the Millenium Broadway. And because I didn't want to run into the same problem again, I decided to book my second night (Aug 17) directly with the hotel buck up and pay the going rate. So I'm all set. Thanks sooo much for all the help. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
  4. OK. I finally get it, and you are absolutely right. Again. I needed to put in 4 adults and two children and I put in 2 adults one child making it seem as if I only needed two king bedded connecting rooms. I called the hotel and explained the confusion. They were absouletly amazing! Completely bent over backwards for me when I admitted that I was partially to blame. They promised that they would help me out when I got there and that we would all have beds (which they didn't have to do). Thanks so much for your help. You really have this htoel thing figured out. I will always book through this site and have already told my friends about this terrific website. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
  5. No it was clear from the receipt. Two adults and one child in each room.
  6. I don't know a thing about the hotel, but Brookyn has changed a good bit in recent years. Smith Street, which begins at Atlantic Avenue, and runs south to Hamilton Avenue, has become the new, trendy area of New York City. New York Magazine dubbed Smith Street "the most innovative, exciting restaurant row" in the city. With funky shops, ethnic food, and collectibles stores, Smith Street is one of the truly, fun areas of the city. he influx of restaurants and bars has brought a new nightlife scene to Smith Street as tourists and Manhattanites brave the trek to Brooklyn. They have discovered the neighborhood with a passion. It seems to be on the way up. That being said, I am not exactly sure where the hotel is located on Smith Street. You would probably have to have a look at a map. You may want to see this from the New York Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/26/fashion/26COBBLE.html As far as transportation, I'm sure you can get into Manhattan from within a few blocks of the hotel. At the Hoyt
  7. I did two adults and one child for each room.
  8. That was an error. Actually, I put in 8/16 - 8/18. 2 Rooms for 6 guests (3 in each room). Another option is a four star in Midtown South for 8/17. Trip advisor rated it 4 out of 5. Fitness Restaurant Business Center Internet Tennis Is this the Barclay? Also, while I've got your attention, when you put in three people, is the hotel obligated to give you bedding for three. This can't be a king room, can it? Because I absolutely do not want to have to pay for a roll-away when I get to the hotel.
  9. I noticed that there is a hotel currently listed as follows for $303 4-star hotel in Downtown SoHo Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High Speed Internet Customer Rating 3.5 out of 5 Is this the Soho Grand? And if so, do they really have rooms that accomodate three people because the hotel's website seems to show only rooms with king beds.
  10. You are absolutely right. How stupid of me. Westin has a spa, Millenium does not. I goofed. I have another question, I called the hotel to make sure that I would get rooms with two beds since I reserved for two parties of 3 and they said they couldn't guarantee it. Aren't they under a contractual obligation to provide me with enough beds for three people in a room since that is what I booked?
  11. I need both rooms that accomodate 3. Can anyone give me any help on finding two doubled bedded rooms at a nice place for under $250 a night. Is there a particular time of day or day of the week when inventory is highest and prices lowest? Thanks in advance.
  12. I booked using the HOTWIRE link from this site. The Millenium Times Square was listed as having the following ammenaties: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I was hoping for the Westin because I knew they had availablity for the night before and I thought I could purchase it separately theyby avoiding splitting my stay and justifying the high price for the first night. It was a gamble, I know. Now I have to find a four star bargain for 8/16 for three people which isn't going to be easy. Does availability ever open up as you get closer to the date or am I cooked?
  13. I just got two rooms at the Millenium Broadway for 206. I am miserable. I had hoped it would be the Westin. Is there any way to get out of it?
  14. I'm sorry if I haven't been clear. I am so glad that you are back to help. Technically there are four adults and one child. Two parents (who are happy to share a bed), two teenagers (who would rather die than share a bed), and one tall 12 year-old child. So I we need one room with two beds and another with either have two big beds or a king and a roll a-way. I am resigned to split the bid if I have to.
  15. Thanks so much for the clarification. Given hat we really are 3 people, I guess I had better not fool around with putting in 2 because you make it sound as if I will almost certainly be stuck with having to pay for an upgrade when I get to the hotel. Do you think that I am better off to stick with HOTWIRE rather than priceline in NYC for this reason? Also, when is the best time to bid for next weekend? BTW, I have no problem with splitting the bid.
  16. I'm not sure what you mean by splitting the bid. We are a family, so I have to bid on both rooms at the same time. But if you are asking whether I would be willing to split the days... different hotel each night, the answer is yes, if I have to. At the moment there is availability for Sunday 8/17 for 3 guests at a 4 star in Midtown Central. It's a no smoking hotel with a fitness room, restaurant, business center and high speed internet. There is nothing for Saturday, 8/16 for a group of three. I take it that if I only put in two guests, I'm likely to get stuck with a king bedded room Am I correct about this? I would appreciate any help you can give me with bidding.
  17. If it were me, I'd walk from Penn Station to the hotel unless it's raining or the bags are very heavy. Penn Station is on 33rd between 7th and 8th Avenues, and the hotel is on 45th and 8th Avenue, so you are only talking about 12 short blocks. If the weather is bad, you could hop on the any 8th Avenue subway train and take it one stop to 42nd Street. (If you walk to the front of the platform, you can exit the subway station at 44th and 8th Avenue, so you wouldn't even get very wet.) From the hotel, your best bet is to walk uptown to Columbus Circle/59th Street (14 short blocks). From there you can catch the B or the D which will take you up to the stadium... or if it's raining, you can go back to 44th and 8th Avenue and take the subway uptown to 59th Street and change trains for the B or the D.
  18. I am not completely sure of my correct number. I have searched it for two and for three. We are probably going to be two adults and a child. I have some flexibility since I have family in the city. Interestingly, on Saturday night the hotels that come up for two and three are not the same and are less expensive for three guests than for two. I assume this is because the chain hotels are giving Priceline cheaper rates. (I could be completely wrong about this.) I have also tried splitting the days and have learned that though I get nothing at all for a party of 3, if I put in two adults, I get many, many hotels at lower prices than I do for Saturday. This is completely counter intuitive, but perhaps it reflects all the Europeans in the city in August. Do you have any suggestions for me?
  19. I am going to be in New York on Aug 16-18 and want to stay in midtown or near Central Park South in a 4 star (or higher) hotel. The hotels on hotwire are all over $300 a night for the nights in question. Does anyone have any advice for me with respect to Priceline? I have only used the site once for NYC and wound up with the Barclay (which I loved after I upgraded the room with the hotel at an additional price). For this trip I do not want to spend more than $250.oo a night. Is this even doable?
