Still trying to gather the family for my son's wedding.I need one more room for a relative One night Sept 6. 2 people. I want the Allegro and I am seeing 2 listing that might match their amenities. Prices are much higher than I paid for the other two rooms I purchased so I'm not sure. Also any idea what the 4.5 * is for 145 in Downtown Millennium Park-Grant Park? Booked it and it was the Allegro @ 126.00. Might have been better deals and nicer hotels, but it will be nice to keep some of the family together and near the wedding. Well I have been with you guys since I dropped one of my sons off at college in Chicago. I had never been to Chicago and you were so helpful on so many levels. Another son then decided to work in this city I have come to love and I have visited more times than I can count. And now guess what?? My eldest is getting married on the 99 floor Willis Tower!! The kids are suggesting rooms at the JW Marriott. Some family will be staying at The W. I would rather save some money and give it to them. Do you see a 4* for those dates near either of those hotels or do you see either of them. I see a few around 150 and 180 but I'm having trouble Identifying them. What area is the JW Marriott? Well I got tired of looking and went with Hot.wire. This one said 90% 4* same amenities. We will be staying at the Drake. Price was right at 68.00. I just hope I don't get a tiny room. Our son lives in Lincoln Park. Last time we scored The Public. Very nice. Well nice after I complained and was moved to a suite. The first room was a little dirty. We enjoyed the Gold Coast. Many things within walking distance and we did manage to go to the Farmers Market in Lincoln Park. Loved it! So yes we are looking for something close to our son and his fiance.

Also wondering if on Priceline the North Michigan Ave - River North Area includes Gold Coast ?

Gave up on Priceline at 130.00 and went back to Hotwire. The Gold Coast Hotel you suggested above is in fact the Public. I went with 2 adults 2 children. (who knows I may need those imaginary kids to get a better room) Paid 156.00 a night. I don't know much about this Hotel. I do know Hotwire gave it 85%, but when I went to Trip Advisor it was more like 75%. We shall see. Thanks for all of the help, now and way back to my first trip to Chicago, when I was dropping my real kid off at college. Actually we are visiting our son who lives in Lincoln Park with his girl friend. Even though they asked us to stay with them, those tiny apartments can be a little close. That is why I was interested in the north end this time. I have to say I am pretty good with the public transportation by now as long as I don't have to walk more than a few blocks. We stayed at the Palmer House a few times and the train is practically in the hotel! But I do think I will stay as near as possible to my son so he doesn't have to deal with so much traffic if he wants to pick us up. North of Wacker. Oh well enough talking. I need to make a decision! I will let you know the details.

Forgive me if this has been addressed, but I haven't been here for a while and I'm trying to catch up. Do you think adding 2 children to the reservation will net me a larger room? If it does do I really have to take two children,because I really don't want to..LOL

Yes, Sorry it does say Deaf Accessible. So Hotel Felix probably. I've read reviews and both Hotel Felix and Allerton seem to have small rooms and I'm just a bit claustrophobic. So if I don't do well on Priceline I may take a chance on the unknown hotel for 150.00. How bad could it be?

Okay looks like there are a few other safe bidding areas too. My dates are flexible. I can do 8/10 to 8/13 or 8/9 to 8/12. One room 2 people. Saw a few interesting 4 stars on HOTWIRE. If I have questions should I continue on this thread or hop over to the Hotwire forum? I would like to stay north as far as Lincoln Park, but will consider Grant Park Loop area for a really good price.

I see the smoke free sign sometimes but think it means there are smoke free rooms available. I thought about trying to change it, but it would be a lot of work for no reward probably. He will just have to deal with it this time.

Tried Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park for 80.00. Added Lincoln Park for 85.00. Added North Michigan Ave - River North Area for 95.00 Still nothing. Don"t know whether to wait until tomorrow and start over or get the Hotel on Hotwire.
