  1. Thank you there. That helped. I'm sorry I didn't think of doing a search on the board....of course, that would've been the obvious. I told you I was confused.
  2. We too got the La Concha Crown Plaza 2-16-03. We bid on Priceline and got the room for approximately $70.00 plus tax. As you know from a previous thread we didn't get the same luck (yet) for 2-05. Hope this helps. Nancy
  3. Where/how do you go to make a Double the Difference claim? I'm still a little confused about that part, can you tell? Thanks.
  4. We ended up taking the advice of there and booking a hotel as a back-up. We're staying at the Best Western Hibiscus for $150.00 per night. One block off Duval. I can live with that. And again, taking there's advice, continue to check priceline every now and then. We've never stayed in a B&B before. I think my first time I want it to be close to home and only for 1 night. Call me chicken!! Thanks for all your help. I'm happy with the way things turned out. Nancy
  5. Go easy on mine. She needs all the help she can get. Like mother, like daughter. Just kidding...she is way brighter than I am!!
  6. Hi guys, There...thanks for keeping me honest and correcting my title. I meant to say nicer instead of nice in my previous post, but you guys got the gist. A bit off topic, fly, I couldn't help but notice your avator. K-State fan? My daughter is planning on attending next year. We live in Lenexa, KS. Small world!!!
  7. Hi, Yes, bid of $40.00 was rejected. Here's an interesting little side note. My brother is going with us ( hence the reason for 2 rooms). Anyhow, I was going to be away for awhile, and was unable to bid within my time frame. So I left instructions with him on what to do, and he mistakenly bid $42.00 for a 1 * hotel. That bid was rejected. I couldn't believe my luck!! Does this particular hotel have only an indoor pool? That's what I made out of it. If it does, that's ok by me...I'm still happy. Thanks again for all your help and advice fly. This board is so much friendlier and nice than TOBB. Thanks too for correcting my title. Nancy
  8. My bid was finally accepted for $45.00 per night/per room at the Fairfield Inn Quincy. It's a 2* hotel, rates are normally $75.00. I'm a happy camper!! Nancy
  9. Thanks for the help. I will try that the next time and let everyone know. That's neat about your sister!! Nancy
  10. Bid was rejected for $35.00 for 2 nights/2rooms in Quincy, IL 7/30/04 thru 8/1/04. We started out with $25.00 per night/per room and are waiting the required 72 hours. This was for the 2 * motel. Not willing to drop any lower. Should be interesting.
  11. Thanks for the response Thereuare!! I think we'll take your advice and book a back-up. Mike had wondered about dropping down to a 2/12 star, and seeing if we won anything, but I 'm not sure we want to do that. I think I'll go snoop around tonight and see what I come up with. We can always cancel ( I'll be sure to read the cancellation fine print throughly). Anyhow, thanks again for the help. Mike&Nancy
  12. Hi, I bid $140.00 for a resort, and was rejected. I then tried $100.00 for a 3 *, and it was rejected as well. Oh by the way, we went thru Savingsbarn.com. I originally had started out at $80.00/resort and I think $70.00 for a 3 *. We're not really willing to drop any lower than a 3 *. We've been consistent in bidding every 72 hours or so. Do you think we're trying too early, or would those be black-out dates for priceline for some reason? I hope I posted this right. Last time I posted I was banned from TOBB. We would aprreciate any help or suggestions please. Thanks, Mike&Nancy
