  1. Did a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 3.5* in Tysons Corner - Falls Church Ranked 7.0 and higher
  2. Started bidding at $110 and went up in $5 incremements. Got The Intercontinental The Barclay after bidding on a 4* hotel in these zones: Times Square, Midtown West, Midtown East, Chelsea, Madison Square Garden (free re-bid zone), Long Island City (free re-bid zone) and then was accepted at $135! (Actually only cost me $125 since I have $10/night bonus cash.) Really happy with the win! Looks like it will be a nice hotel.
  3. This hotel wasn't listed on your Hotwire list for Wilmington East, so please add it! Amenities were basically identical to the Holiday Inn Express (which is what I expected to win): Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby
  4. After MANY days of bidding on tons of areas and prices, we finally got the W New York Downtown for $200/night. More than I wanted to spend but still a good price considering this hotel is going for $399/nt on those same dates!
  5. Started at $135 and bid up to $170/night for almost every single area of NYC for 3* hotels and up... (All combinations, re-bid zones, etc...) Does anyone know if it's to my disadvantage to be bidding a few months early? Would it be better to wait for a couple of months to bid? Would I have a better chance of having my bid accepted closer to the time of travel? All help is appreciated! Thank you!
  6. Great price for a nice resort over a Holiday Weekend! Started at $85 and worked my way up. Also used the PRICELINE link to bid.
  7. No luck. :) I even went up to $155 for a 3.5* and $150 for a 3* hotel. I guess I will wait awhile and see if any hotels go on special? Right now I'm only seeing deals through Labor Day...
  8. yay :) $145/night would be my preference... ideal zones would be: MTW, MTE, TS, DT/Soho, ESB, MSG for a 3.5* or 4* I like the CPS zone but only for a 4* as I don't want to get The Hudson hotel (the rooms are too claustrophobic!) i feel like i've tried a lot of combinations, but it's coming up empty. i may need to look for a 3* hotel...
  9. thanks for the response! would the 4 free rebid zones be Chelsea, Coney Island, LI City and the UES? so just to clarify... let's say i bid $140 on a 3.5* for MTW and I get rejected... does this mean I can do my next bid for $145 for MTW and Chelsea and only get a 3.5* in MTW?
  10. Hello! I have been trying to bid on a hotel in NYC for September 25-28 for several days now, and I'm starting to run out of patience! I would like to keep the bid at $140/night and under. I have tried 3.5* and higher in lots of different combinations for Downtown/Soho, MTE, MTW and TS... I would prefer to be in MTE, MTW or TS. Is this realistic? I've been trying to figure out the whole free rebid zone thing and I'm just confused! How do I know which zones are the free rebid ones? I've read the strategies that have been suggested to others but it has still left me confused. I've used the PRICELINE links that you have put in your posts each time, too. Any help would be great! THANK YOU!
  11. bid was accepted on the first try great hotel - big rooms, comfy bed :)
  12. I couldn't believe we got so lucky! A $90 bid at the Westin over Labor Day weekend - amazing!
  13. 3* Northern VA (Tyson's Corner-Falls Church) Crowne Plaza Tyson's Corner $50 ... 8/30/08-9/2/08
