  1. Always enjoy trying to get a room in MSP with so many rebid zones. Began with a $40 bid in downtown MSP and PL countered with the free bid to $67. I denied and worked my way to the $58 bid. I've stayed here before when it was a 3.5* but not since they've remodelled. Great location for downtown activities and I'm very happy with the price especially with the low Canadian $. Room subtotal:$174.00 Taxes & fees:$35.91 Total charged today:$209.91 Started my bidding with the PRICELINE link.
  2. Started the bidding for a 4.5* hotel up to $100. Next went to 4* and started at $60. Received a counter offer for $72 and rejected that. Next bid was $65 and won the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Taxes & fees: $38.34 Total for 3 nights: $233.34 Happy with the price and I've never been to Dallas. Going to 2 Stars games and a Cowboys game. Started my bidding with the PRICELINE link.
  3. Started yesterday looking for a downtown hotel and bid up to $65 for a 4* star hotel. Today I started bidding 4* up to $90/night and didn't get a hotel. Went to 3.5* and started at $60 and won the $80 bid. Summary of Charges Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $80.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $240.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $49.47 (USD) Total Charged to Card: $289.47 (USD) Looks to be higher for this property than is showing here but I'm happy as I will be attending Cardinals games that weekend. Looks like a great location for baseball! Hilton At The Ballpark has rates for $190 plus taxes showing for that weekend on their site. Started my bidding with bb PRICELINE link.
  4. Booked the TRYP Times Square South after seeing in the forum that this was the hotel described by previous winning bids with the same amenities. Amenities: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower As I was looking for two beds, used Hotwire and added one child to make sure we would get two beds. Or at least I'm hoping as I haven't phoned the hotel to confirm yet. Usually I like to roll the dice with PL's bidding system but NY doesn't have many double rooms as compared to other US cities. Same hotel was $112 when just searching with 2 adults. I use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to start my bidding.
  5. Started the bidding process yesterday and wanted in the Millennium Park-Loop area to be close to Soldier Field. Bears v Panthers on Sunday. Went as high as $130/night in both downtown areas for a 4* hotel. Used rebids for each of the remaining star ratings and was willing to go as high as $130 as well. Guess I could have been more patient but glad to get this part of the trip booked. Location looks good. Rate on their website says $239 plus taxes. Summary of Charges Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $125.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Room Subtotal: $250.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $49.48 (USD) Total Room Cost: $299.48 (USD) Used the PRICELINE link to start the bidding process.
  6. Hello, Tried for two days in the White House-Downtown, Convention/Capitol Hill and Dupont Circle area in that order using rebid zones and 4*. Think first day was up to $85 for all 3 zones and then the second day up to $100. $100 bid and won The Dupont Circle Hotel. Hotel looks like it is close to a Metro station. Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 5 Room Subtotal: $500.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $83.15 (USD) Total Room Cost: $583.15 (USD) Used the PRICELINE link.
  7. Well finally got a hotel for this weekend. Wondered why it had been so difficult until I read the post here about the Nato Summit in Chicago coming to town. Tried for weeks bidding up to $110 for a 4* hotel in either the Millenium Park - The Loop - Grant Park or North Michigan Ave - River North zones. After I found out about the summit, upped the bid to $170 in those zones this past weekend for 4*, 3.5* and think as high as $160 for 3*. Finally got the 2* Congress Hotel. Google Maps thinks it's permanently closed. $140 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $840.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $151.26 (USD) Total Room Cost: $991.26 (USD) Used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding.
  8. I bid up to $110 and received the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. Noticed other forum users were getting this property for that price so am happy and looking forward to my trip. I used your PRICELINE link.

  11. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $65.00 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.33 Total Charges*: $81.33 Tried for a few nights for 4* with the rebid zones and stopped around $90. Added the 3.5* and bid $50. Received the counter offer for $15 more. Rejected and thought I'd rebid at $57/58 in the middle. Not accepted and even rebid $65 and $70 and didn't win. This happened the last 2 nights. Today I gave in and accepted the free rebid of $65 and won. This property is not on the Denver Downtown 3.5 list. Started bidding by using BB PRICELINE link.
  12. Hello, Have been trying since late June for an August 7 - 14th trip. Was trying to get in USE and bidding up to $110 always 4*. Added USW at times. Added Financial and SOMA last few days as well. Got a hotel for 3 nights when we split up the bid. Added the Financial and SOMA zones before getting the Omni from August 12 - 13. 2 nights @ $120. Used the PRICELINE link through betterbidding.com Thanks to the posters for their experiences to help other PL users.
  13. Hello, Have been trying since late June for an August 7 - 14th trip. Was trying to get in USE and bidding up to $110 always 4*. Added USW at times. Splitting up dates didn't work either. Used the rebid zones as well. Has been frustrating and doesn't seem to be many bookings during those dates. Maybe something is on in San Fran? Finally added the Financial and SOMA zones before getting the Intercontinental from August 8 - 11. 3 nights @ $120. Used the PRICELINE link through betterbidding.com Thanks to the posters for their experiences to help other PL users.
  14. I posted the Hotwire win for the 23rd - 25th separately. This was also my first time using HOTWIRE as I am more of a PRICELINE person. Now to go buy a good pair of shoes for all the walking in NY!
  15. I've booked a 3 1/2 star Midtown Central for $154 on July 23-25th for 2 nights. Sheraton Manhattan @ Times Square. Smoke free Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet I needed 2 beds so with the help from this site, entered 2 adults and 2 children after following the HOTWIRE link from BetterBidding. Booked for the 19th - 23rd for $119 and got the same hotel and have this in a separate Hotwire hotel post. Saved $92 rather than taking Hotwire's $146/night offer.
  16. I've booked a 3 1/2 star Midtown Central for $119 on July 19th -23. Sheraton Manhattan @ Times Square. Smoke free Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet I needed 2 beds so with the help from this site, entered 2 adults and 2 children after following the HOTWIRE link from BetterBidding. I am staying in NY until the 25th but when I searched Hotwire they gave me $146/night. After seeing a winning Hotwire bid from DisneyFan tried to shorten my dates and came close to their $115. Being from Canada, every dollar counts! Booked for the 23rd - 25th for $154 and got the same hotel. Saved $92 rather than taking Hotwire's $146/night offer. Do I have to enter this separately? Thanks to people who post their experiences. Helped immensely.

  20. Started bidding at $40, then went to $45 and up by one dollar before getting at $49. Wasn't expecting it as was my first time trying for this weekend. Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov 9, 2008 $49/night x 2 + $20.89 in taxes = $118.89 Hyatt's site: Starting at $318 plus taxes for the 2 nights. Now I need to find Vikings tickets!

Total for 2 rooms is $300 plus $48.38 in taxes & fees for a total of $348.38. I have been trying for about 2 weeks to get a 4 star room in the downtown area but was unsuccessful. 22. Hello, Sorry for the late post but have been on holidays and away from an Internet connection. Bid several days before leaving for a 4* in downtown Denver. Closer to leaving, bid up to $125 with no success. Changed the strategy to choosing 3 * hotels in downtown Denver and adding rebid zones that didn't have 3 *. Got the Downtown Denver Sheraton for $70/night for the dates July 13 - 16. Add roughly $13/night in taxes & fees to make it $83/night. Prices on the Sheraton site for those dates started at $232.38.
