  1. Got the Intercontinental for $55 by bidding 4* Downtown & FQ zones. Previous failed bid was $50.
  2. Accepted on first 2.5* bid at $49. Lowest price on HIlton.com is $134 pre-paid. I stayed here a few years ago and was quite pleased. This is a good value: wifi is free and the rooms are large and include a fridge/microwave.
  3. This was a great value... hotel rooms are newly renovated as the hotel is soon to become a Crowne Plaza according to a letter in the room. Rooms have new baths, furniture and nice bedding and include free wifi access & fridge/micro. Parking is $8 per night in a garage with very tight spaces. Lobby and public areas are next up for a timely renovation. Rooms facing Southwest Fwy (59) get traffic noise nearly all night long.
  4. Rejected at 4* $40... presented with counteroffer of +$12. Rebid $42- rejected. Rebid $45 and accepted at the Westin. I'm very happy as this is the hotel I was targeting and the lowest website rate is $189!
  5. 3* bid rejected at $36. Lowered to 2.5* + increased to $40= accepted at Holiday Inn Select Greenway Plaza.
  6. Accepted at first 3* bid for $52. Wyndham.com lowest rate was $90. Good deal, but parking is valet only and a whopping $30/night.
  7. Started bidding :) 4* at $30. Rejected up to $40. Accepted at $45. Lowest price on hotel website was $89. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $11.86 Total Charges*: $56.86
  8. It appears as though I am the first to report on this board receiving the Wynn on Hotwire. I gambled on what I thought was going to be a sweet double-the-difference claim on the Venetian and got burned :) I had never seen the Wynn even come up on Hotwire package listings and the listed amenities are the same as the Venetian with the exception of possibly "customer favorite", so I felt fairly certain I would receive the Venetian. Oh well, lesson learned the hard way! Amenities listed: Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services
  9. It's correct. It was a same-day bid on a Sunday. The hotel seemed to be basically empty, so that's probably why the price was so low.
  10. Accepted on first bid, same day. Self-parking in hotel garage is $12/night.
  11. Bid 4* up to $70 and rejected. Bid 3* $55 and rejected. Rebid and accepted at $65. Hotel website price is $179. :)
  12. Rejected 3* & 2.5* bids from $30 up to $40, accepted at $43.
  13. Bid was accepted on first 3* attempt. Makes me think I should've started lower :) Although this is a great price, I find it amazing that priceline fees & taxes equal 32% of the bid price on this one: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $41.00 Subtotal: $41.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.24 Total Charges*: $54.24
  14. First bid was 4* DFW North @ $40. Received counteroffer for +$12. Added a rebid zone and rejected at $42. Added another rebid zone and accepted at $44. I'm very pleased with this bargain! Your Offer Price: $44.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $44.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $13.68 Total Charges*: $57.68
  15. Accepted on first 4* bid in DT/CC for $50. Makes me think I should have started lower :) Lowest rate on Hilton.com is $151. I am very happy with my bargain especially since this stay will be during the French Quarter Festival.
  16. It's the Hampton Inn West End. I've stayed there on a Hotwire purchase. You can typically get it for $54 or so when it is selling for $129+ on the Hampton website. This is an old 70s highrise hotel that was originally a Holiday Inn. The rooms have been renovated in the past few years but the baths are small. The free breakfast is good. You will have to pay to park in their garage. I would stay here again for such a cheap rate.
  17. Previous bids for full size @ $18 and convertible @ $22 rejected. Bid standard @ $19 and accepted at Hertz. Total for 6 days including tax and fees is $148.34.
  18. Accepted at $105 on first bid after lowering to 2.5*. I think I probably overbid. Lowest price on hotel website is $129. According to recent reviews, this hotel was formerly a Best Western and is undergoing a massive renovation to become a Thompson boutique hotel. Should be an interesting experience... hoping for the best.
  19. March 3-6 3* Center Strip $252/night Amenities: Condo, Suite, Fitness Center, Pool, High-Speed Internet, Kitchenette My first thought was this is possibly the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at the Flamingo. However, I now think it could possibly be Marriott's Grand Chateau. I'm not sure if the location at 75 E. Harmon is actually in the Center Strip zone boundaries though; it's difficult to tell from the Hotwire map. Any thoughts?
  20. The new Hotel Palomar, a Kimpton Hotel, at US 75 Central Expressway and Mockingbird is also a possibilty. It offers all the amenities listed with the exception of airport shuttle, I'm not sure of that one.
  21. Follow-up: I checked out this morning and the rate listed on the TV guest account review was $39.90. Thus, this hotel can probably be had for a bid of $40 on some nights. Stay was unremarkable. Hotel was decent but certainly not luxurious. Furnishings and fixtures seemed old and dingy. Front desk clerks seemed preoccupied with tasks other than helping guests.
  22. Bid 3* Market Center-Love Field @ $38. Received counter-offer for +$11. Rebid by lowering to 2.5* and raising to $44. Accepted at Crowne Plaza Market Center.
