  1. Looking for a place off the strip that is inexpensive during CES convention. See a couple on hotwire. There are several choices < $100: West of Strip area hotel - $78, 85% recommended Free Internet, Free Parking Business center Casino Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Spa services 4/5 on Trip advisor (Last person booked got Artisan) West of Strip area resort - $86, 85% recommended Free Internet, Free Parking Business center Fitness center Pet friendly Pool(s) Resort Self-service laundry 4/5 on Trip Advisor (Last person booked got Westgate Flamingo Bay) I'm wondering how accurate last person booked is in getting that same hotel. Thanks.
  2. We are will be traveling to the area on Friday August 22nd. We have 3 adults and need 2 beds. The Hotwire price is at least $20 better than anywhere else so I expect to use this method. I believe this 3* is the Holiday Inn Express based on prior posts/history. CONFIRMED: Holiday Inn Express Total cost with tax: $81.97. Using Bidder Helper: http://www.biddinghelper.com/ FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  3. Follow-up: Our dates are still 23rd - 25th of August. We decided not to use Hotwire for this. We found the best deal using Quality Suites website and getting a room with breakfast for $116.10. We did this for several reasons: 1) We didn't want to stay at a La Quinta (on our banned list of hotels), 2) We wanted to try and control where we wanted to stay, and 3) We didn't want to pay $250+ up front 3 months early. We will use Hotwire for Orem, UT. I'll post the details on that. -dan
  4. Follow-up: We ended up NOT using Hotwire for this. We found availability at the Pony Express Motel at a total cost of $172.79 for one night (August 1st 2012). They may have charged us an extra $10 for an extra person (I don't remember). Hotel was fine, in a decent location but did seem a little expensive for the price paid.
  5. Looking to identify a 2.5 * Hotel on HOT.WIRE Aug 23 - Aug 25 (1 room, 3 adults) Amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, pool, fitness center and more Hotwire rate: $134 per night, Normally $177 Tripadvisor 4 out of 5 stars Hotwire: 100% with 36 reviews It says "book soon, the last person got the La Quinta Inn Moab" Do they really give it away like that? There is also a 3 star for a little more money ($149) with 75% recommendation. I'm guessing that maybe the Ramada. Thanks, -dan
  6. Looking for hotel 8/1 - 8/2 in or around Jackson Hole. Found 3* Teton Village area hotel. $159 Amenities: Restaurant, Laundry Facilities, Free parking Any ideas? I figure this is "The Inn" or "Alpenhof Lodge" Thanks, -dan
  7. Booked 3* in Bend, Oregon for 8/11-8/12. Amenities: Comp Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, High-Speed Internet Access 100% users liked hotel. Phoenix Inn Suites is the hotel. On Orbitz and Hotels.com this is showing up as $178 a night hotel--I would have assumed $90. So, $76 ($90.90 total) is a great deal.
  8. Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver: 1234 Hornby Street, Vancouver. Hotwire gives this a 3* and Priceline 2.5*. We considered trying priceline for up to $140 but figured, even with 4* we probably wouldn't get the free breakfast (at least $10 savings). To get the $149 rate we said only 2 people. However, we do have one child but it appears the rooms should have a sofabed--especially with the kitchenette. Amenities: ------------ Smoke Free Room Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Laundry Facility High Speed Internet Kitchenette I tried to use the betterbidding HOTWIRE link. -dan
  9. The amenities are: - Smoke Free Rooms - Pool - Has restaurant - Laundry facilities - Golf Nearby Listed as 3* hotel in Banff.
  10. We used HOTWIRE for 3* Hotel in Banff, we got placed in the Banff Park Lodge for $126 per night during the 21st-23rd July timeframe. Tax recovery charge and fees were $16.67 per night. $285.34 total. Reservation for 2 Adults and 1 Child. -dan
  11. At Hotwire, with 2 adults/1 child I'm getting: 3.5 STAR, Downtown Vancouver West: No Smoking, Fitness, Swimming, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, Internet, Tennis Nearby: $149 2.5 STAR, Downtown vancouver Entertainment district: Restaurant, Internet: $144 Prices go up from there, only 4 stars left. So, my questions is would it be wise to book this or try with Priceline to get something "cheaper" at the expense of not having the extra bed possibility for our child. Rates don't seem to be going down or new hotels opening up. Thoughts? Thanks, -dan
  12. Tried to bid on Priceline for 4* hotel in Vancouver on 24-26th July (2 nights) today: Bid 1: $105 - not accepted Bid 2: $110 - not accepted (Changed to just 24th) We are looking for Downtown (Entertainment or West district). On the risky side, from the FAQ I noticed Priceline only guarantees a room for two people, yet we have a kid (12). I'm willing to do 3* but with Priceline area locater we are likely to find ourselves outside the area we want to be in. Anyone have any thoughts on bidding higher using PRICELINE 4 star vs using HOTWIRE 3 star ($149 is lowest we can find currently for the dates above). We will also have a vehicle so I suspect we'll need to pay for parking at any place we stay. Thanks, -dan
