  1. Started at 115€, with rebids up until 160€, accepted by the Seafront Hotel. Excited with the win, for what seems to be an expensive and busy period in Boston. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.
  2. Hi, I was looking for a bargain for a downtown Chicago Hotel for the end of August, and saw this deal on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals, for 89 euros (109 dollars), with the following amenities: Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities These amenities were listed to be a potential win for the Renaissance in the hotel list, and it turned out to be it was. Room Price:EUR 89.00/night Number of rooms:1 Room Number of nights:3 Nights Room Subtotal:EUR 267.00 Taxes & Fees:EUR 73.14 Coupon:EUR -13.35 Total Charged:EUR 326.79 I am delighted with the outcome, regular PRICELINE rates start at 302$. Used the BetterBidding Priceline coupon code for the extra 5% off and used the BiddingHelper.com link to book. Thanks a lot guys for the coupon, saved me even 13 euros more on the already awesome deal!
  3. Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at 85, which seemed to be the Omni William Penn Hotel. Started at 70, raising by 2-3$ at a time. Accepted at 80 by the Omni William Penn. Really glad with the outcome, great rate for such a nice hotel (177$ through regular booking, even more expensive elsewhere). I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding :)!
  4. I saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 107$, which appeared to be the Marriott Downtown. I wanted to see the stretch on it, and started bidding at 80. Went to 85 - 90 - 95 - 99 - 101 and 102. Accepted by the Marriott, as expected. Really happy with the deal, regular rates start at 234$ on their own web site, the cheapest I could find was 192$. I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding :)!
  5. Hi, I saw the Priceline deal of 4* at 93€/105$, and was triggered to challenge that offer a bit more ;). Started at 80€, 83, 85 and eventually 87€: Room Subtotal:EUR 174.00 Taxes & Fees:EUR 32.00 Total Charged:EUR 206.00 (235$ converted) Excited about the deal, regular rate for 2 nights is 591$ (tax in). I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding!
  6. Hi, I have been trying to bid and checked the express deals almost daily until 2 days before departure, but no luck (it was indeed a busy period). Ended up with our back-up booking at the Paper Factory Hotel through regular booking, which turned out to be an unbeatable deal for the time of year (152$ per night). This topic can be closed. Thanks for all advice though.
  7. Started the last few days at 55 and raised by 5 each time. Accepted at 70 by the Springhill Suites. 84$ tax included Was expecting the BW Plus Plaza, but I am even happier with this one. Rates start at 179$ at their own and regular booking sites. Used the PRICELINE link for all attempts!
  8. There was a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at 58$. Started at 50, raised to 55. Accepted by the Grand Vista Hotel. This was a bit of a surprise, it seems this hotel has upgraded from 2.5 to 3 stars then? Anyway, I am still happy with the deal. I used the Priceline link to start bidding.
  9. There was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal at 62€. Started with 50, raised to 55, and finally 58. Happy with the deal, rates on their site start at 172$. Used the Priceline link to start bidding.
  10. OK, I made the calculation and came to about 160$. CPS is not a problem for the Hudson, Midtown East would not be an option then. So, these are the options: Central Park South, Empire State, Madison Square, Midtown West, Times Square. If that does not work out, I would take on Chelsea too. Thanks!
  11. Aren't the Hudson and Milleniium UN upgraded to 4* instead of 3.5*? I was planning to bid on 3.5* properties, with a max of 190$ all costs included. The Hudson would not be a problem (I stayed there in 2010, and I liked the location and the hotel itself), but the hotel fee in this area for a 4* puts me of. And 190$ is already a stretch to the budget.
  12. Thanks for the clarifications. I would not want to go higher than 190, which is already a stretch to the budget. So, would like to try a 3.5 star then. I have looked at the properties and zones, and these are the zones I would consider: Central Park South, Empire State, Madison Square, Midtown East, Midtown West, Times Square. Unless there is a hotel in these zones with a longer distance to the subway?
  13. Hi, I am trying to work out a bidding strategy for our stay next year in NYC. I was hoping to win a 4 star property near Times Square / Central Park. I have stayed in the Hudson Hotel in 2010 (win via Priceline and this site), and although the rooms are notoriously small, I really liked the hotel itself and its location. So I would not mind staying there again and take on this region in my bidding strategy. However, this region charges a 136$ hotel fee to the bid when clicking further. A 3.5/4.5 star bid does not add the hotel fee. This makes it really expensive to add this zone to the bidding, and in that case I would prefer a lower star rating or other zones. I have read that the hotel fee is some sort of an answer to resort fees and other costs. Is this hotel fee charged automatically when the bid is accepted? Or do they just make an estimate and is the "total room charge" charged? Also, do you know upfront which and if your hotel will charge the fee? I was hoping to be around 190$ max (all costs included) for a 4 star, is this realistic? Thanks!
  14. Hi, Started with 75$ and aimed for a 3* hotel, raised the bids until 90$, which was accepted by the 3.5* Boston Park Plaza. Happy with the result, seems like a nice historic hotel at a reasonable discount (average of 300$ per night on regular websites). Used the Priceline link to start bidding.
  15. Started at 90, raised 5 each time. Waited 24 hours after 110 to get new bid zones, to the final deal of 120. Bids done on 1 and 2 September. Used the PRICELINE link for all searches and bidding.
  16. Still needed to post this recent win. I have been trying for months to get a good deal in the LA area, without any luck. Rates crom the express deals for 4* in the Santa Monica area were way above budget, so decided to go downtown. Saw a win at 92 for the exact same dates, therefore I started with 85. there was an immediate counteroffer of 24. Rejected and raised until 92. (Done on 24 September) Valet parking was 40$ per night, but I guess that goes for all hotels in LA. Used the PRICELINE link for all bids and this win!
  17. Started at 70, counteroffer of 96, rejected and added 5$. Happy with the win, looks like a nice property. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding!
  18. Starting bid, immediately accepted by the Four Points. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding!
  19. 100$ was the first offer of which Priceline stated that it wasn't too low to be accepted. So started at 100$, immediately accepted by the Chaminade. Glad with the win, looks like a really nice property! Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding!
  20. Started at 70$, raised 5$ per rebid, accepted by the Hilton at 80$. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding!
  21. Saw a lot of wins pass for 5* at the strip, so decided to pick up bidding again for my trip in September (started trying in April for 2 days, and went up to 175$ without luck). Started at 120$ with Strip North, rejected. Express deals had an offer of 139$. Decided to add 5$ and add a free rebid zone. Accepted by The Palazzo. Happy with the win :). Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding of course!
  22. Started with 100$ for Bloomsbury, adding other suitable 4 star zones and free rebids (Chelsea - Wembley - Hammersmith - City and London Bridge) until 120$. Closed Priceline and started again with Notting Hill at 100$, rised until 120$ (adding Westminster first, and then the free rebid zones). Accepted by the K hotel. Looks like a nice property, close to a subway station (my only demand) and got a third off regular rates. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding! EDIT: sorry, the title should have been 120$!
  23. This win has a long bidding history... Started at 50$, raised over the weeks until 100$, nothing happened. At 101$, I got a counteroffer of 121$, rejected, waited 24 hours. New offer of 106$ got a counteroffer of 126$, rejected again. Bid of 110$ had the same result, counteroffer of 130$. Rejected again, new bid of 115$, counteroffer of 135$. Rejected once more. My offer of 116$ was accepted today. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $116.00 Subtotal: $116.00 Taxes & Fees: $22.37 Total Charges*: $138.37 I was hoping for the Mariott, it looks like one of the best deals for Lake Placid. I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.
  24. Started at 55$, used all free rebid zones and raised the bid (60$ - 65$ - 70$). 71$ was accepted by the Indigo. It looks like a nice property, so I'm happy with the deal. Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.
  25. OK, thanks. My dates are 09/10/10 - 09/11/10. I was guessing that the High Peaks resort might be a possibility, although it is currently not shown on the regular Priceline site. I guess it might be to soon to try. I already tried offers of 80$ - 82$ -84$ - 86$ -88$ -90$, but none of them were successful. Will keep the forum updated on my progress, and will use the PRICELINE link for all my attempts.
