  1. Hi, I found a cheap one in Pawleys Island through a normal site. It's for one night. Thank you
  2. Hi Yellowdog, I don't know what happened for Myrtle Beach, I never received an answer from you , so I found a cheap one in Pawleys Island through a normal site. It's for one night. I have booked Arlington (July 22 to 25 :( ). I need to stay July 21 to 24. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Hi, Could you tell me what hotel it can be. we also need to be very close to transit, being 2 seniors. HOTWIRE Arlington, VA, Falls Church Area, Free breakfast, free internet, free parking, $76 instead of 115 I had booked the Inns of Virginia but I made a mistake in the dates and now the prices are much higher... or no availability. Can you help? Thank you very much.
  4. Hi, I am not sure I am at the right place to ask this <_< I am looking for a hotel for July 19 to 20. I see in Hotwire 59% OFF Myrtle Beach South area hotel at 65 instead of 159. It doesn't say it is beachfront. What hotel do you think it could be? Should I wait more? Thank you very much for any advice
  5. I have tried (at low rates, but I know some people won at Tpa at $12/day) almost everyday and my price (now I am at $23) is refused. Do you think the closer we get to my dates (July 9-14), the better I have chance? Or are they all fully booked now? Anyone with experience? Thanks
  6. Won at $45 with Priceline July 11 to 14. The problem is they say in the description of the hotel that the breakfast is included, but NOT at that rate :) It seems there is a garage depending on the hotel, at $9.50 every time you go out.... if there are spaces. I will post a feedback
  7. You are right, sometimes too much trouble is not worth the extra saving. Anyway, this trip HOTWIRE has nothing in my prices (the one I found a week ago may be at $63 now. So i went through PRICELINE. Of course I don't have the amenities I wanted, that's the problem with them, but I have 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency Tampa downtown (the problem is the parking at $18/day ouch!, I will have to find a trick or check the public transportation in Tampa), 3 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott Clearwater, then the last night with Orbitz at the la Quinta Inn Tampa bay airport, ALL AT $45 with breakfast included, and la Quinta has a free shuttle to/from airport!!! (- 10% with Orbitz, thanks again!) More work for the car.
  8. I can't see the hotel anymore this morning :) It has been booked already? or can it reappear? I was talking about going from Tampa airtport to St Petersburg airport WITHOUT a car (train, subway etc...), and renting one there. Any information? Thanks
  9. back to HOTWIRE, and I find a hotel at $50/night in Westshore, 3*. The amenities are: Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Kitchenette What kind of neighborhood is it? Safe? Can it be Extended Stay? Another question: going to Priceline (and hotwire too), I can see that the car rentals are much cheaper in St Petersburg? How to go from Tampa to St Pete? I am thinking about Miami -> FLL which is a piece of cake. Thanks again :)
  10. Thank you for your kindness. Of course, I know Orbitz and they have good prices and are good in case of problems. But could you tell me how I reach DealO(or zero?)hotel from there? I didn't know Maps and Hotels. Thanks again
  11. I am looking around Tampa because I will land on and take off there. I want to explore Tampa, St Petersburg and the cities around. Maybe I will have to go to "conventional" booking sites, that's what I feared, there is no kitchenette icon at all, as for internet, I can pay an extra, depending on the price of the room. In Nassau, it was impossible at the hotel, in Miami it was exorbitant, but I have found a "trick" thanks to TA. I hope someone familiar with the area will give me some info about nice places. My purpose is to find a place where I would like to relocate. That's why I went to FLL, Sarasota (that I liked a lot and want to go back this trip), Ft Myers and Naples (loved it too) in my last trip. I don't know Melbourne at all, it could be my next trip, I don't know when I will be able to realize my project, it's too far away for 5 days, but I can settle in St Petersbourg, or whatever close by. Thanks a lot, anyway I will book my car on PRICELINE :)
  12. Hi, I am back with everything working :) , and need a hotel on July 9 to 15. Now I find a 2* in south Tampa for $38, with Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Also a 2.5* in St Petersburg at $33, with Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) High-speed Internet Access Since it is my first time there, could you give me some advice about what area is nice and quiet. I will rent a car, so transport is not a problem. I am not interested in the beach nor the airport but as usual, I would like a fridge and microwave, that I can see nowhere. Of course internet is mandatory. I will drive around in the whole area. Is it worth it to spend a bit more, but I have no idea what they offfer between $30 and 60! Thank you very much, and especially Thereure :)
  13. Hello, I will be back to Florida from July 9 to 15. I am looking for a condo or hotel with kitchenette, anywhere but the beach (not my purpose). some quiet place where I can sleep, park a car to explore the city and neighborhoods, maybe rest a bit at the pool. I just found one 3* at $52/night, in Bush Garden area. Is it a nice place? I can't copy the amenities, I have a problem since yesterday, when I click on "see all amenities", I get a blank window. Anyone can tell me why? It is very annoying. Is it a Hotwire or Firefox problem (I have no other issue)? Anyway, there is breakfast included, no smoker rooms, fitness, swimming pool, business center, wireless internet. Since it is in the "condo" section, I would expect a kitchen :) ..... But they say it is rated 4.5 in TA, from 60+ comments, the last one being May 2009. I find Embassy Suites that fits more or less (only rate 4) As usual I will greatly appreciate your help. Do you have any advice to give me? would downtown be better for me? Thanks a lot :)
  14. Sure... with pleasure :) . But none of those hotels is listed (you had told me that they were not listed). How do I do? Thanks
  15. Not sure where to post this message, which will be very short anyway. I bid an economy car at $14/day, it was accepted, it was with Budget. I had tried 11, refused, I had no time to play more :) I got a Hunday Accent, which was perfect for me, the only comment is they should give it clean.... No problem at all, nor on the return, very fast, 2 minutes, but loooong wait to get it. Happy traveller :)
  16. Hi, I am back and rather happy... more with Hotwire (I am getting addicted :) ) than with the last hotel. First I spent 2 nights in la Quinta Inn, but guess what? there are 2 with the same name, almost the same location, a hell to find at night. Got lost both nights, even the locals didn't know about it. Anyway I got there, a nice hotel, and the person in charge at night ( a bit TOO nice, to an inappropriate point) put me in a big suite. Very clean and comfortable, but cold atmosphere, not a single picture on the walls nor any decoration, no dining table nor chairs). The breakfast was... well, at least it was a breakfast before getting to my activities. Then at the end of my stay, I checked in the Best Western in Hallandale. I had called it before leaving for my trip, as I always do, to ask for a quiet room and some questions. On the phone the person was not too pleasant. When I arrived, no room was requested and there was only one, directly on the Highway. They provide ear plugs, which I have never been able to use :) . Then the receptionist says, there is a problem, your credit card is not valid. Strange, I booked the previous hotel with it (and Hotwire also) as well as my car (with Priceline). He wanted to charge me for the night THEN solve the problem. THANKS to Hotwire. He accepted to call them, and the person in charge solved it quickly. My card was valid of course. I was exhausted after 1,000 miles in 5 days, cold, so I turned the heating on. There is only a very thin blanket on the bed, and no comforter. Otherwise it was the most luxurious room I had in ages, well furnished, perfect. But at around 4 am, I woke up, a cold air was blowing from the heater. I tried to fix it but it was impossible. I put a sweater on, but was still freezing. It was that or the cars speeding on the highway, so anyway no sleep. When I got up (around 6 am for my flight), I went to comment it to the receptionist. She says "Florida is a warm state, here we use A/C no heating" :o In other words they did it on purpose. SO I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT although the breakfast also was good. Why are they so unpleasant, and why do they offer heating if they don't want us to use it???? :) Thanks again to Hotwire, and I sent them the feedback on both hotels. I am going to put it on TripAdvisor too. And thanks to you for your endless patience. :D
  17. hello, Since I started my search, I found (out of luck) a list of hotels listed on Hotwire. I always keep my computer running (and today I had like 25 windows open while trying to book a hotel and comparing), but this afternoon I had to restart it... and I lost this window. Impossible to find it now in my History... nor in the site map. I remember I was reading a post and I clicked on a link, saying "list of Hotwire Hotels" or something. It is in this case for Florida, but can be useful for other destinations. Could you please give me the link, and put it very obviously on the top of the site? I have no idea where to look. That would be great. I am also seeing that you are a parent with Orbitz and some others... I had no idea. What can I expect (or you... why not)? How to cooperate? Thank you again :)
  18. Sorry for the shuttle, my mistake. I worked too much on that and saw too many amenities. I have many more things to learn, I didn't know the mileage was from the center of the zone. If you don't know this hotel, I can post a message giving my feedback. Thank you for the wonderful job you do :)
  19. I booked it... from Hotwire, after long and long hours searching. It is the West Bestern IN HALLANDALE. They say 2.5 miles from the airport which is completely wrong! Very far from the airport, and on Monday morning, I will need hours to go :) It I had searched so far away I may have found better prices... First time I am disappointed Next great news: it is said they have a shuttle to the airport. they DON'T, I just called them. Not since 2 years ago. Hmmm...
  20. Hi again, I am looking for my last night in Florida (8-9 March), and I find only a 2* at $51 with pool and laundry, which I don't give a damn about, and a 2.5* at $66 with Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access This one seems much better but expensive. Any idea what is is? I have seen out of HOTWIRE (Orbitz maybe) at the same price ($59 actually) with shuttle. Are there some usually come more later or it is a lost cause to look for a great deal? I will be coming back from Naples, so would like to be on the road, I will have to be at the airport at around 8 am maximum after returning my wonderful and cheap car, but if there is a shuttle I may return it on the 8th, so I gain sleep time. Thanks a million times
  21. :) Sorry I am not always clear.... :) I booked an economy car for March 3 to 9 (6 days) for $14/day with Priceline and it was accepted by Budget. I don't know what car Budget offers in this category. So enough about car. Now more hotels :o I am in touch with a person who told me I would better go to Naples or fort Myers, I would like it there. More work to do. Thanks for your help. BTW I know Sawgrass Mills, I think I will spend most of my first day. Too bad there is no computer store (I remember there is one close by but not fantastic, forgotten which one), will have to go to Circuit City, Target etc...
  22. Must be my lucky day... half :) my bid for my economy car has been accepted for $14/day with Priceline (Budget). Maybe I could have tried lower, but it had been refused at 11, I didn't want to lose more time
  23. I HAD to decide... It is la Quinta Inn, Plantation :) . I have read bad comments.... at least it is quiet. I will have to go shopping before arriving. Well, only 2 days and so many things to do. I hope to receive your suggestions for the next step, I have to book most of everything today Thanks
  24. I am so sorry, I had completely forgotten it. I encountered many problems with this booking, I didn't want to take the risk of an unknown hotel, but I tried with different agents for the Breezes, and almost lost it because of cheats. Finally everything went perfect, directly with the hotel at... >$300/night, I was very happy, my bank account a bit less but it was Xmas. THEN I had health problems :) I have not booked yet for FLL (Hotwire)... nor for the car, I try bidding Melbourne $42, 2.5* Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access Kennedy $57, 2* Breakfast, pool, High speed internet Kennedy $67, 2.5* breakfast, restaurants, laundry facilities, high speed internet access Thank you
  25. Hi, After many problems and attempts, I finally booked directly with Breezes Bahamas, thank you so much for your help :)
