  1. Im trying to bid for a car from DCA from 7/20-7/23. Using the car checker from this site, I found an economy car from Enterprise for 42.24/day for a total of $202.16. I then used the PRICELINE link to try to bid $25.00/day. It suggested that was far too low and to try a bid of 53.00-55.00. I kept it at 25.00 and was rejected. Should I assume that the Enterprise price is going to be my best bet?
  2. I was concerned when you said $75 might not cut it as a price, so I bid as you said except for the last round. I tried $75, 80, 85 , and 90 with no success. I went ahead and went 1 more round, selecting White House, Capitol Hill, and Dupont-Woodley Park and used a first bid of $90. Accepted! I got the Marriott Washington Wardman Park. I dont know if $90 is high for this hotel, but I'm thrilled. I checked the Marriott website and saw that this hotel is going for $290/night. Thats a heck of a deal!! Thanks again for all your help. This is the second hotel Ive gotten with your assistance, and I've saved a lot of money. Of course I used your PRICELINE.com link. Can't wait to come back here for my next trip!
  3. I currently live in Florida and am just accepted a job in DC, so I need to go up there to find some place to live. Most of the places I am going to look at are north and east of DC proper, so thats why i was thinking that area. I didnt realize there were only 2* places there, so I think I will pass on that. Also, my mother is coming up there with me and it will be her fisrt time there. She asked if we could stay in the heart of DC, thats why i chose white house and capitol hill. I think id like to stick with those two for my bidding. Thanks!
  4. Im going to be in Washington Dc this weekend from 7/20 - 7/23. I think we'd like to stay in either "capitol hill", "white house" or "Dc Suburbs NE". Im hoping not to spend more than $75 for a 3* hotel in one of those areas. Is this a practical top amount to bid for these areas? any bidding help would be appreciated!
  5. Sorry it took so long to update, but... Hooray! I got the Residence Inn for $70 on the first try! Thanks for all of the help! You guys are awesome!
  6. Aaah! I think I got it now. The rebid zone I'm looking for is Lawndale, is that right? So I am going to try a 2.5* in Beverly Hills at $70 and if I don't get that, I'll try adding Lawndale at $75.00. Correct? Thanks!!
  7. I tried bidding tonight first in Beverly Hills, 2.5* at $55.00 - declined. Then I tried adding Brentwood ( i hope that was right, because I saw it didnt have any 2.5* hotels) at $65.00 - unfortunately rejected again. Did I bid correctly, and any more advice? Thanks again for your help!
  8. The 2.5* in Beverly Hills would be definitely be an option, lets shoot for that.
  9. Thanks so much for responding so quickly! I dont want to be a pain, but after looking at the map, I think I'd like to stay closer to Hollywood. Im willing to drop down to a 2.5* for the cheapest rate, even if its not $50. I wouldnt mind a 3* hotel but really, getting the cheapest rate is whats most important to me. Thanks again!
  10. Thanks for the clarification! Ideally I would prefer the 3* at $50/night. Thanks!
  11. I'd like either a 3* or 4* hotel preferably. And $100 would be the most, but I'd be happier paying as little as possible. Thanks!
  12. Hi everybody! I'm going to be in Los Angeles for one night on Friday July 4. I would prefer to stay near the airport and $100 would be the most I'd like to spend (Less preferably!). Im new to this bidding thing and would appreciate any help you can throw my way! Thanks! Robyn :)
