I booked a car rental with HotWire which I prepaid and knew was non refundable. We were to pick up the car on July 4. Our plans unavoidably changed and we will now not be able to pick it up until the 6th. I contacted HotWire by email and advised them of this fact and that I would like to keep the rental as is, just not pick the car up till two days later. In other words, I will have paid for the 11 days, but only use it for 9. Amazingly enough, our home phone rang at midnight this Saturday night (Sat. night/Sun.morning), waking us up out of a deep sleep. It was a HotWire representative, telling us that the rental would be voided if we did not pick the car up on the 4th! First, I can't believe they called at that hour and second, doesn't it seem unreasonable that they won't let us keep the rental, and just pick the car up two days later? Any thoughts or advice out there??? Thanks.
