Thanks so much for looking into this. I'm sooo hesitant to purchase without knowing! I went as far as to ask the folks from HOTWIRE and all I got was that the customer reviews from Hotwire were 100% positive. I asked about the tripadvisor rating and the agent said that it is not provided by Hotwire, so I wonder if the 2.5 Tripadvisor rating is even legitimate. I'm going to hold off and see if anyone takes the plunge first! Again, many thanks!

Ended up purchasing 2.5* airport area for 12/30-12/31 - Holiday Inn Express. Stayed here before nothing fancy, but really grat staff and great area! Amenities as follows: Free Parking Free Breakfast Airport Shuttle Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking

"Really good deal. It's close to the airport and North star mall. It was a really good deal. They even have a coffee shop & restaurant inside. We took advantage of the airport shuttle." Just read the above review on Hotwire and I'm almost certain it's the Holiday Inn Select. The hotel does have a restaurant, coffee shop, and is right down the road from the North Star hotel. And the other review regarding the smoking and nonsmoking rooms is a dead give away. I've had the same issue at this hotel.... "Was okay, but... I was placed on a floor that had smoking rooms on one hall, and non-smoking rooms on the other hall. Obviously a smell like cigarette smoke doesn't stay isolated so the whole floor really smelled like it. And it might have been because we knew it, but my friend and I swore we smelled a hint of smoke in our non-smoking room. We just dealt with it bc we were just there for the night."

My apologies, I hadn't realized that I never closed this thread. We ended up booking direct with Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 5535 UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS AND SILICON ROAD SAN ANTONIO, TX 78249. The price for a one room suite was reasonable and the hotel is great. Brand new - helpful staff. Hope it makes its way to HOTWIRE.

Not certain I understood the request, but I clicked on both the Hotwire and PRICELINE links searched for the dates previously indicated and the results are one in the same as those posted yesterday. Was there something that I failed to do prior to requesting assistance with identifying the hotel? I've not used the board in some time....

Well, unfortunately, the hotel left much to be desired. The front desk staff was great - very helpful in securing a clean room. The hotel is in dire need of TLC. I'd post pictures if we had the option. I did send in a review to TripAdvisor - together with photos. Frayed towels, dirty bathroom, dirty light fixtures and filthy carpet. I certainly do not believe the property is deserving of 3*, and I certainly would not stay there again....bummer.

You are correct, it is the Horizon Hill Blvd property.
