Bid and re-bid and re-bid some more, but failed to get a great bargain this time around. Ended up going with Priceline's offer. Thurs., Oct. 8, 2009: American Airlines -- Depart Atlanta 10AM - Arrive Chicago 11.15AM (1.5 hour layover)...Depart Chicago 12.50PM - Arrive Tokyo, Japan (Narita) 4PM [Friday, Oct. 9]. Returning Tuesday, Nov. 3. I bid up from $500 in $15 increments using small towns for quick re-bidding near Atlanta and Charlotte. Either ATL or CLT would have been ok. No luck. Settled for $860 Priceline total offer, which is $64 cheaper than lowest American Airlines published price and about $51 lower than most others. This looks like a great deal. I'm hoping to get something similar when I'm back in Atlanta in late July. It seems like the Atlanta Perimeter zone is prime for the taking with so many hotels competing against each other. Thanks for sharing. Happy shopping at IKEA!

I used the PRICELINE link from Betterbidding (of course -- thank you!). This was my first time using PRICELINE, and I'm very pleased (despite some of the relatively negative reviews of this Westin as overrated). I was surprised anything less than $50 was accepted at the 4* level considering it will be Fri-Sun on July 4th weekend.
