After reading this thread I tried the same thing. Never heard anything after 48 hours. They said it may take until Mon or Tues so I cancelled the original reservation and just booked the Crowne Plaza since it showed available. Nothing else was coming up on HOTWIRE and I tried bidding to $135 on PRICELINE. Thanks to the OP and Gallus for the heads up! Best wishes! See you in HHI!

FYI. Just got an email from hotwire stating they have created a "near beach" icon for this property.

They offered us the option to cancel w/ a full refund or get 50% of our cost in hot Dollars. We kept our reservation and took the hotdollars.

Wanted to give an update. I was contacted by hotwire regarding my reservation. In the email it noted that "We do periodically review our hotel partners' amenities to show the most accurate and up-to-date information, and we recently changed our site to reflect the current offerings of Crowne Plaza Hilton Head Island Beach Resort." "We regret that the hotel is not able to offer the Beach Front that was listed on our site" I am guessing that "beachfront" will be taken off their list of amenities.

We have stayed at the Crowne Plaza before and are happy with our results. Hotel was nice, but dated. Self Parking at the hotel was $20. I believe there is a parking deck at Lenox Square Mall that will let you park overnight and it costs about $10.

Started at $65 and used rebids until accepted for $80. With taxes and fees total came to $99.97. Used PRICELINE link.
