  1. Hi All, I will be travel next week to Miami (Nov 8 - Nov 11). I am flexible on where to stay, any the areas below will do Downtown - Port of Miami Downtown Miami - Brickell Financial District South Beach - Central - Art Deco District South Beach - Central - Convention Center South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront South Beach - Ocean Drive I bid the past 2 days for 3.5 star in this area, and the following amount 80,85,90,95 and 100 with no success. On my first bid it did ask me to buy at $123 a night. I checked express bidding and for the nights available I found 4* Art Deco for $105 and 4* in Brickell for $116. I haven't bid in a while but I would have thought bidding was cheaper. Here are my questions: 1) What is typically lower bidding or express deal 2) Would you know which hotel the 4* are in express Amenities for Brickel are Bed ChoiceBusiness CenterFitness CenterNon Smoking RestaurantSwimming Pool Amenities for Art Deco are Bed ChoiceAirport ShuttleBusiness CenterFitness Center Non SmokingRestaurantSwimming Pool
  2. Been bidding for past week and slowly raising starting bid. I was asked several times when I bid during week, once I made first bid to raise to $18. I rejected and was able to retry my bid. Won the car with Hertz, say 33% savings. G
  3. I won 3.5* Marriott Perimeter Center on my third bid in Perimeter. Bid 50, 55 then 58.. never got offered increased your bid... etc G
  4. yes midtown and buckhead are acceptable, good call that adds a few more bid options. current 3* in Perimeter is $86 so I would say max bid should be in range of 75-80. I noticed this one did not have breakfast included any idea which hotel this would be and if I won the bid on 3* would it be likely this one that would come up?
  5. okay will do peremiter area 3*, what would be your bidding advice, looks like I have 3 safe zones 8 bids. Also, anypoint waiting to see if new hotels get added at lower prices for midtown or buckhead? 7 weeks out G
  6. I am good with Buckhead or Midtown however the cheapest room I am found doing PRICELINE EXPRESS bidding is $177 for 3star in mid town and $131 for 3 star in buckhead. I would have preferred around $60 for these areas. As for Car, I did find through costco around 13 dollars a day plus $40 for the car seat total was around 160. Price.line / Hot.wire did not see like you could add the car seat to the reservation I will use link for my purchases
  7. Head out to Atlanta for labor day weekend. Aug 29th to Sept 2nd. Price seem pretty high and did some research on betterbidding and it looks like a comic event took place last year labor weekend however this year does not look like its on. I am interested in staying Buckhead area with Midtown and Permeter as my back up choices. Ideally like to spend less then 100 a night it possible for highest star. 3* under $60 or 4* under 90 would be nice. Would it be recommended to start bidding now or wait and see how prices are over the next few weeks? Also, traveling with an infant and planned to rent a car rental am I better off booking with rental company directly or still bidding on priceline since I will need a car seat. G
  8. Hi, This completes my final bids for my Europe Trip. I had been bidding up to 160 the past few days with no luck, was asked yesterday to increase bid by 35 at 160 in order to get hotel however ran out of bid zones. Today when checking my email I noticed this $10 off coupon in my email and used it. I think its a not real as when I bid 150 plus 10, it did not ask me to increase my bid. However once I got to 160 plus 10 it said to increase by $35 and win, I added one rebid zone and tried 165 no luck then tried 170 and worked. Looking at the website and Kayak this was a steal as rates are going for $300 US a night... really looking forward to this hotel G
  9. Hi, Won this on my second bid, 1st bid 150 with first credit card asked to increase by $35, I went ahead and rebid with another credit at $160 and got the hotel. As for price not sure what to make of it, on kayak the same hotel is only about 20 more a night. The thing I am not sure about is if breakfast include in the one. Here are the features 24 Hour Front Desk Bellman Concierge Breakfast Room Bar/Lounge Remote Control Television Direct Dial Telephone High Quality Bath Amenities Private Bath Hair Dryer In-room Refreshment Center The bright side is its very close to the train station. G
  10. finally won the hotel here are the details 3.5* NYC (Downtown-Soho-Financial District) Embassy Suites, $215 ... 09/23/10-09/26/10 started at around 120 and slowly worked up to this bid, got asked to bid 40 more at 210, had a few free zones which I already went up to 220 so was comfortable adding new zone. Added a new zone increased bid by $5 and won... Not sure how safe this area is or how close to subway, but if anyone has any insights that would be appreciated S
  11. Hi, Could you help me with the strategy... 17. lowest possible per catergory. I think the way the hotel prices are on the website the 3* might cost more then the 4* GenX
  18. I prefer to spend the lowest possible, what do you think I will need to go to get the catergory? I prefer not having to breakup the stay but if it saves me money I guess I will have to try. Should I do the saturday alone then sun-mon together? GenX
  19. Hi, I need to figure out what I should bid for quebec city... I have bidding for a few days... I need the hotel for Aug/08 - Aug/11 (3 nights) and the trip is coming up soon.... I looked at hotwire and see that there is no rooms for the saturday night so probably increasing my prices..... I have not decided if I should bid on sat alone then bid on the rest of the trip. I would like to stay downtown area as I am taking a train and will not be renting a car. I believe on other travel sites best western 3* going for $225, Delta 3.5 going for $195 and Lowes 4* going for $212 US dollars. Typical price on priceline are best western 3* going for $60-70, Delta 3.5 going for around $100 and 4* $100-130 US dollars I have bid up to the following amounts for the star level, which are well above the previous bids for the area. 3* - $105 3.5* - $125 4* - $155 Any suggestions on what I should go up to in the catergory? The trip is for our anniversary so the better the star rating the better. At the same time I would like to get the best deal possible. GenX
