  1. Happy with this deal and to stay at this 5 star property in a very central location in Covent Garden. Comparing with other sites, my savings seems to be around 160 dollars for the whole two days stay.
  2. :D Happy with the outcome! I have used the betterbidding PRICELINE links!
  3. Just to close the thread: I have ended up booking Helmsley Park Lane by a reasonable price(If I remember correctly it was $280 for a room with central park view, what by the way was amazing). I am sorry for not closing the topic by then....
  4. Amenities are High Speed Internet and Smoke free rooms! Thnx!
  5. Forgot to mention, in case someone is interested, that I have first bid for the same property on PRICELINE(only 4* hotel in UWS zone): 7 bids, from$150 to $200 with no success, and then I booked the HOTWIRE deal. Always using the board links! Thnx
  6. Boutique Hotel, Restaurant, Fitness Center, High Speed Internet I have stayed in this hotel one year ago and it was great for me, so this is a safe choice!
  7. Update: no luck, used the above bidding scheme, but ended slightly higher($265). Will try again tomorrow. Thanx again for all the help!
  8. Because I think that, with such high prices, value for Times Square 4* hotels listed on PRICELINE is no longer ok(I don't really like staying in Times Sq, and The Westin is located in an area that I really dislike, across the st from port authority bus terminal, on 8th av) My max bid will be 260 and I'll bid for CPS, UWS, MTW.
  9. I am still working on a maximum offer. As I have recently came across a Helmsley Park Lane room for $265, and that hotel and location are very convenient for me, i'd say I wouldn't probably bid more than that, and I am also considering taking the times square zone out of my bids. What I am really interested in now is the 4* hotels in the CPS zone and in the Empire Hotel(UWS), but I don't want to rule out MTW, due to the possibily of getting The Shoreham, and therefore avoiding the hotel change, or The Hilton on 6th av, also a very convenient property for me.
  10. Just an update: same areas and dates, just now went up until $245, no success...
  11. Thank you for your answer. I had also suspected I would have won by now if I had included MTE, but unfortunately, due to a not so good experience at the Grand Hyatt, I would not bid for that area. The hotel itself we enjoyed, but we really didn't like the location, specially due to the always crowded lexington subway lines. And the risk to be too east close to the UN also keeps us away from bidding for that zone.
  12. I have already sucessfully bid for the 2nd half of my stay, and posted the Priceline hotel win (The Shoreham, MTW, $196 nov 16 to nov 21). But after a few weeks trying to bid for the first five days, nov 11 to nov 16, everything seems to be more expensive. I have bid many times for MTW, CPS, TS, UWS and the respective rebidding zones and went up to $230 with no success. My main backup plan is the Park Central Hotel, for $232 on the hotel website, specially due to its location(our favourite spot to stay in NY is the Columbus Circle area, plus the possibility to walk to the Shoreham when changing hotels). But we still hope for a better deal. Any suggestions? Other websites? Thanks!
  13. After bidding unsuccessfully for my whole 10 days stay in NYC in November, up to $225(MTW, UWS, CPS, TS), I have decided to split my bids and won that for the second half. Not thrilled about changing hotels and also not very enthusiastic about this property, although the location is great.... Let's see! New York will always be the best city in the world, but their hotel prices are a total pain... Now I have to research for the first half of my stay, for which I have just done the exact same rebidding and went up to $210 with no success.
  14. Oops, I guess it's a new hotwire zone afterall! Today I still see the condo, but I was also offered a new deal in this "NEW AREA": same dates, 5* Central Park East area hotel, with the amenities SPA SERVICES, FITNESS, BUSINESS, HIGH SPEED INTERNET, RESTAURANT What might be this property?
  15. No, I don't need a condo for this stay. It was just that that the price/star level/location had matched my needs. But I will be trying today some priceline bidding to see what happens! Thanks again!
  16. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'd rather avoid changing hotels... ;)
  17. Ok, sorry about that! Here's the full list: STUDIO, FULLY EQ KITCHEN, AIR CONDITIONING, FITNESS, LAUNDRY, HIGH SPEED INTERNET, FREE INTERNET, 24H FRONT DESK, ACCESSIBLE PATH, ACCESSIBLE BATHROOM, WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE, IN-ROOM ACCESSIBILITY
  18. Thank you for your answer, but I had already clicked in the "see all" link, and the amenities are those I have listed above, plus the amenities for the handicaped that now are always shown, like accessible path, roll away shower, etc.
  19. That was new for me! First, because it is listed as a condo, and also I have never before came across this area, only the central park west area, and at the betterbidding hotwire new york list we only see central park with no mention to east or west. Anyway, I don't see a match in the list for this. The amenities are STUDIO, FULLY EQ KITCHEN, AIR CONDITIONING, FITNESS, LAUNDRY, INTERNET, 24H FRONT DESK. Thanx!!!
  20. Thank you again. I was trying to use hotwire or priceline for my early nov upcoming trip to Chicago, but after two unsucessful priceline biddings, going up to $161 for a River North 4* hotel and the lack of a better offer in hotwire, I have finally booked swisshotel for $149 through bookit.com. It seems like a good deal! ;)
  21. Thank you for your answer, but I still have one doubt: why is this zone absent from the betterbidding hotel list? Is it new?
  22. I'd like to know if the area called Lake View-Lincoln Park-Wrigleyville has a correspondence with another area in the Hotwire hotel list. Is it the same as gold cost, or maybe mag mile north-water tower? Thnx!
  23. Need boards people help! I have made a mistake in the topic title, it was River North instead of Steeterville!!!
