  1. I'm here!! But it is Thursday a.m. 29 Jan 04 (local time) here in Okinawa Japan. :)
  2. T-Weldon, Sorry for the confusion. I now see that you are referring to Hotwire and not Priceline. My references are to PL. On PL there are no Resorts in the airport (MCO) zone. Both Courtyard and Amerisuites are very close to airport. And the last time I checked they had shuttles that run late, but call directly to confirm. Just did a quick check and you can get the 2.5* at MCO on Priceline for $36. You have time so low-ball it! Have fun with this and learn alot. Hope this info has been helpful. Perhaps there are other folks out there with more insight. Please keep us posted on how your bids play out. :)
  3. OK, bite the bullet and get 3 (2* or 2.5*) rooms since they are so cheap on PL. You will get one of the 2* LQ or the 2.5* Courtyard or Amerisuites. I know this info from lots of past history in the area. :)
  4. If you need hotel airport shuttle service make sure the hotel you select has a shuttle that runs after 11pm. But taxis to closeby hotels should not be too expensive.
  5. Please give us some details of taxes and fees? Thanks! :)

  7. Sorry, I should have noticed your dates. I will be at LAX before you (7 Feb) and will have a layover so I'll be able to go by this hotel and check it out. I have friends that want a 2.5 * hotel there to possible avoid the 3* old LAX Hilton. $27/nite appears to be the lowest rate going for a 2.5 * hotel at LAX. Tks! :)

  12. Has anyone else read the Jan 04 Consumer Reports article (pg. 6 ) and the research report done by William McGee? I have read both and I have heartburn on the hotel results when using Priceline compared to Hotwire. Thanks! Bill

  18. Got this for relatives. I have hit on $32 numerous times for a 3* hotel at LAX. For that prices I have received the Crown Plaza and the Four Point Sheraton in the past. 19. Please provide us with some feedback on your thoughts about your stay at this CS. I have friends that want to go up for the "Dying of the Leaf". Tks! :)
  20. It is so good to know that one knows people in high places (ThereUAre)! :) Is AM website the Adams Mark? Also, what is HGI? Tks!
  21. Thanks! Good advice and I follow what you are saying and will err on the side of safety! But how about the way PL lists Resorts at the bottom of their listings even below zones that have 1 & 2* options (2 examples in LV)? :)
  22. Perhaps I am thick-head, but zones that have Resorts listed confuse me. Take for instance bidding for a 5* or even a 4* hotel on the Strip. Is the Henderson zone that has Resort, 2 & 2.5* listings and the NW Las Vegas zone that has Resort, 1, 2, 2.5* listings considered Free Rebids? Just how do Resorts fit in? I don't want anything other than a 4 or 5* hotel on the Strip. Tks! :)
  23. I'm willing to wait til the last possible moment to secure the best hotel rate. I'll make a back up for the MGM for about $70/nite. I don't believe there are any real big conventions going on during this time to cause a sellout. Looking at Hotwire, it presently shows a 5* Customer Favorite for $114 but it does not have the Suite Amenity symbol. What hotel could that be since the Venetian Hotel is all-suites? Perhaps HW just left off the suite symbol. Thanks! :)
  24. I believe the timing of placing this bid is paramount. With all the Free re-bids for LV it should be easy and since it is a non-peak time I should be it at a very reasonable rate. The web rate for the Venetian today for the dates I want is $209/nite. Should I make a backup just in case? Again thanks for all your help. Plz let me know if I need to clarify any details. Will use SavingsBarn.com for this bid!! :)
  25. Got to do another trip to Norfolk VA. I need a hotel room in the ORF airport zone for the nite of Sat 20 Sept & the nite of Fri 26 Sept 03. The web prices for: 2 star LaQuinta is $45, Days Inn is $49, Ramada is $50. It is only me traveling so I want to keep it simple and cheap. Would appreciate some bidding help. Tks! :)
