  1. Used $20 NEWYOU coupon to bring total down to $111 with taxes and fees. 85% recommended. Amenities were Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Boutique, Fitness center, Business center, Restaurant(s), Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower.
  2. Started bidding in Tinley Park for 2.5 star at $65, then 3 star for $80. Switched to Matteson 3 star and got this for $100 including taxes/fees. Holiday Inn website is showing for $133 incl. taxes. I think that I probably could have gotten it for a little lower, but I'm ok with saving $33. Used the PRICELINE link on this website to bid.
  3. Tried Priceline up to $92 using links on this board, didn't get a bite. So took this deal on Hotwire. Used Expedia's amenities description and had it narrowed down to The Drake (key was Pet Friendly). I know they don't always match up just right, though. Amenities listed on Hotwire were: Pet Friendly, Business Center, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s) and High-Speed Internet Access.
  4. I had a $20 discount on my next HOTWIRE hot rate booking and I just so happened to need a hotel for one night in the Cincinnati area. Thanks to this site, I was able to determine that one of the hotels being shown was the Hyatt Place which has great reviews. I have clicked both the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links several times while I was browsing lately. The $65 price is before the $20 Hotwire discount, net total was $55.78. Here are the amenities the were listed (includes a few additions related to accessibility): Free Parking Free Breakfast Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  5. It appears that PRICELINE has increased this to a 4* property as I just won it for $62 bidding only on 4* and only in the O'Hare North zone. Not really the win I was looking for (was hoping for the Hilton), but I guess it should work. I could have had the Hilton via HOTWIRE for $73 based on recent wins and reported amenities on this site's HOTWIRE board. Should have just gone that route, but that wouldn't have been a sure thing either I guess.
  6. Really wanted two nights, but didn't have any luck with including the 24th. Was bidding for 4* in Millenium Park and Magnificent Mile zones. Started bidding at $65 today, added some free rebid zones, was countered at $70 to increase to $89, and at $72 to increase to $92. $77 was finally accepted. OK deal in my mind, but have seen cheaper wins. Hyatt website no refund/cancel rate was $104. Now to work on the night of the 24th... :) Used the PRICELINE link on this site for bidding.
  7. Bid was actually $12 plus $3 bonus cash. Total including tax/fees was $168.65 compared to $223.62 on Hotwire and $351.58 on Hertz website. I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board for my bidding.
  8. Just picked up this win which I do not see on the list of hotels ($44.25 with taxes/fees). Amenities are: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service) and High-Speed Internet. I apologize, but I clicked through from a Hotwire email and neglected to hit the board first. Sorry, I am normally very good at supporting the site. I have been searching the last couple of days through the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE board links, though.
  9. First bid of $104 accepted today. Best rate on Marriott.com was $178/night for Marriott Rewards members (which I am). Total $845.88 with taxes and fees, plus there will be the $25/night resort fee to be paid at the resort (typical for this area). I know it was early to be bidding, but I like to bid every few days once I have finalized my airfare, so I've been bidding off and on since mid-November. Have gone all the way up to $120 in the past few weeks, so $104 was definitely a surprise. I was prepared to wait until just before the trip before moving off my $120 ceiling, but I'm more than happy with this value. And, of course I used the PRICELINE link on this forum to start my bidding.
  10. First bid accepted (should have started lower, :D ). Happy with the result anyway. $65.28 with taxes/fees. Lowest rate on Hilton website is $129 plus taxes. Used the PRICELINE link here to bid.
  11. Been bidding for a couple of weeks for this area or North Michigan Ave - River North. Have gone up to over $110 in the past, but started at $80 today and kept adding "free" rebid zones until I got this win. $117.47 with taxes/fees. Wouldn't be my first choice (was hoping for the Hyatt), but given the crazy retail rates for this night, I'll take it. As usual, I used the PRICELINE link here to begin my bidding.
  12. Used the PRICELINE link here to begin. Tried N. Michigan Ave zone first with multiple rebids up to $85. Started again with Millenium Park zone, first bid accepted. $88.37 with taxes/fees.
  13. Began bidding for 3 1/2* at $43, added Midway North at $45, then went to 3* & $47. With taxes & fees, total is $61.52 (plus there is a $12/day parking charge). Also, I did use the PRICELINE link here on the forum to start my bidding.
  14. Won via Priceline. Total with taxes & fees $180.59, compared to just north of $200 on Hotwire and $300 on Alamo's website. Used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on this site for my research and bidding. Priceline's fees seem to run higher than Hotwire's as the fees/taxes on Hotwire for the same rental were listed at $60 and Priceline's were $82 (same car class/dates).
  15. The amenities listed for this hotel are: Suite, Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Kitchenette I'm happy to help add a new hotel to the list and thanks to all who make this board possible. :)
  16. Total $67.84 with taxes/fees. Regular PRICELINE user, but first HOTWIRE "win" since becoming a member. Needed something with an airport shuttle as we are flying in from Hawaii and have an overnight layover. Very happy with this win as this has pretty good reviews on Tripadvisor and 95% recommended rating according to Hotwire. Tried several bids via the PRICELINE link going up to $55 that were rejected. Lowest rate on the hotel website is $108.92 with taxes.
  17. Used PRICELINE link. Total $72.43 with taxes/fees. Was looking for an airport area hotel for a stopover on the way to Hawaii. Had $5 bonus cash to use, started with a $51 bid plus $5 bonus cash for the SEA Airport area. Was rejected but offered an acceptance if I increased my bid by $15 to $66. I declined, added Renton-Kent area and bid $56 plus the $5 bonus cash. Won the Holiday Inn Seattle-Renton. Can't say I would have chosen this outright, but at least it has a free airport shuttle and is about $50 than the Holiday Inn website.
  18. Started at $80, kept adding free rebid zones and increasing bid by $5. Finally accepted at $105, $129.06 with taxes and fees. Used the PRICELINE link on this website, thanks to all who post here and make this board useful.
  19. Taxes were $156.38, or $22.34/night. Total for the week is $1,136.38. Of course, there is also the ubiquitous daily resort fee of $25, too.
  20. Started bidding at $120, was countered for $150. Declined and rebid with Kahului & Kihei zones and added 4*. Finally accepted at $140. Been to Maui half a dozen times and have never stayed at the Westin so I'm looking forward to it.
  21. Total with taxes/fees $199.52, compared to $232.13 on Hotwire. Not a huge savings, but every little bit helps. Used PRICELINE links on this site.
  22. Been bidding for a while now trying for 12/31 - 1/7 and 1/1 - 1/7. Bidding range has been $120 - $140 using Resort and 4 star properties in the Waikoloa and Hilo zones (did not want to stay in Kona, so avoided that). 4 bids for 12/31 - 1/7 were rejected today, but first bid using 1/1 - 1/7 date range was accepted. Best rate on Hilton website $199. Used PRICELINE link on this website as usual.
  23. First bid for 2 nights at $44 for 2.5* rejected. Added 2* and increased bid to $45 and received the LaQuinta Inn Gurnee. Had bid $42 yesterday for same combo. Have won this hotel before and am happy with the result. It is within walking distance to Great America. I did use the PRICELINE link here. Total $108.82 with taxes/fees. Current LaQuinta Inn website rate for those nights averages $90/night.
  24. First bid accepted today. Have stayed at this hotel before paying retail and was happy with it at that price. Have been bidding off and on since April and had gone up to $80 without success. Was bidding 4* in this area and other Chicagoland areas without 4* as Millenium-Loop-Grant Park was the only area I wanted. Hyatt is located at the far north of this area as far as I am concerned, but I knew going in that this would most likely be the "win." Used the PRICELINE link on this site for all my bidding. $77 including taxes/fees.
