I tried several bids in the past few days with no luck. Today, I noticed that the prices on HOTWIRE were down a little bit: 2* $99 for the same stay. First bid: $70 2.5* Yarmouth area, then $75 with fallmouth and finally $80 accepted, same areas but extended to 2* I think it's a good deal for the labour day weekend!
083108 to 090108 - 2rooms Bid $80 rejected - (Quincy - Faneuil Hall - Financial District) Added zone re-bid $85 rejected - (Copley Square - Theatre District) Added zone re-bid $90 rejected - (Cambridge) Added zone re-bid $95 rejected - (Medford - Somerville) Added zone re-bid - (Brighton - Brookline) => $100 accepted for 4* Hilton FDistrict Hotwire rate for a 4* in same area, for same date is currently $132
3* Newport Marriott, Newport, RI $180 for Friday 8/29-8/30/08, 2 ROOMS 1st bid of $180 for 3* Newport/Goat Island was accepted. I feel so bad to see some winning bids around 70 for the same day. However, the lowest rate on Hotwire today for the same date is $200 for a 2stars and $335 for a 3stars so I don't believe I could have had the same luck!
hi, just lost the following bid for Friday and Saturday August 1st and 2nd 2* Atlantic city west $85 added Atlantic city area + $10 added somers point for $105 with no result Regular rate with PRICELINE is $110 for a 2* hotel in West Atlantic City so I'll give up with the bids !!
Yesterday, I started at $90 and increased by $10 with each of my free rebids (South Boston, Somerville, Bedford) but I stopped at $100. Today was my last chance, so I started at 90 for Quincy Market, increased by 10 up to $120 for the 3 free rebids areas. Final rebid with Waterfront at $125 to get the Westin Boston Waterfront. HOTWIRE equivalent stay was $142.
Unsuccessful bidding. :) Wanted to stay in 4* in: Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial District for 2 nights (5/24/08-5/25/08), started at $80 / night and went up to $100 / night, using the following "free re-bid" zones : Brighton - Brookline Medford - Somerville South Boston I tried again with just 1 night but didn't work either :)
