Thanks for all the advice. I bid up to 200 on PL with no luck, so I ended up getting a backup at the Champlain through the hotel website for 125 euros/night. (The link for 95 euros did not work..) I will keep looking but at least I have a hotel now. Was it really that bad to transfer on the metro while staying at the Champlain? It's only a few blocks from the stop, right?

I have been trying to bid for Paris for the last 2 weeks and have been unsuccessful. Since this is my first time to Paris, I prefer a centrally located hotel, near a metro station. So far, I have mainly tried only 3 zones repeatedly: Champs-Elysees, St Germain/Latin Quarter, and Les Halles. Today, I added Bastille-Bercy because I noticed a 4-star offered in that area that looked nice. I have avoided the Eiffel Tower region bc I dont want to end up with the Pullman Rive Gauche. My highest bid so far is 150. My maximum would be 180, and I prefer to stick to a 4 star, unless a 3-star would be significantly cheaper. Should I just increase my bid as I have been, or do you suggest splitting my stay for better results? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the link. Unfortunately, I dont think this is the one HouTx79 referred to. This website offers a renovation special starting at 125 euros per night, while HouTx79 mentioned 85 euros per night on the french web site, which I still cant find after googling all day. Thanks again! Please let me know if you get any more info.

Hi,I think your deal is fabulous, and I would love to get the same hotel. Do you think it would apply for June 22-27, or is this time of the year going to be dramatically different than in November? It will be my first time to Paris, and Im thinking this is the best area? Location (close to metro and walking distance to some sites) is the most important to me, as long as the hotel is clean and safe. Any advice?
