After a spending too much time at Hershey Park we decided to stay another night - and instead of using the same rate (extending another night with the old bid for $75 - see my previos post) I thought I give it another try: Started with $51, went in $5 steps (didn't have too much time and a lousy connection with my laptop from the parking lot) and got it at $71 - (this time no offer in between with the +$17 or so). Again a nice location, but ther Sheraton was a notch better.

After reading about some really good deals here I started out with $49 ... then went in $2 steps all the way up ... at $69 they offered the +$17 deal, ignored it and got it with $75. Harrisburg has 5 regions - only 2 with 3*, so plenty of patterns to use if you know how :-) ... thanks again to this forum! $75 was still a good deal - $189 was the walk in rate - and there was a convention going on ... so maybe at another time you can get even lower ...

Ok - I thought I have put in the dates in the title, but apparently this has been cut off? The date was (or better is - I'm writing from the hotel room just now) 5/14/08 to 5/15/08 ... and I used the PRICELINE link from within here :-)

Researching prices on here (thanks lobomojo!), I first bid $56 for a 4* in the Downtown-Convention Center and was successfull ... What is it that the guys at staples say? So, where is the easy-button? :)

After finding this great site last night in my hotelroom in Memphis (btw, walk-in with roomsaver.com coupon in the drury for 49 was quite a nice deal) I started to bid wtih $47 on the road down to jackson - only bad thing was the reception on the way (I used my cell as modem for my laptop) - oh and of course my wife was driving (and the kids sleeping) while I went on priceline ... I was declined, however also offered a "one time chance" to bid $13 more without the need to change anything. Now that I've become smart enough (thanks again to this forum) - I started all over and went with $2 steps using the ** regions to re-bid and got my room for $51 - instead of the $60 with the one-time-direct-offer. Anyway, the direct rate offered would have been $129, so saved more than 50% ... Hope this helps, and I'll post more as my trip continues - next stop New Orleans ...
