  1. Hi there, Looking for help identifying these two options: 4* - says "New to hotwire", 69USD (HOTWIRE sale, 25% off regular rate) Amenities: Business centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Pool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundrySmoke-free rooms 4*, 63USD (HOTWIRE sale, 25% off regular rate) Amenities Business centerFitness centerGolf nearbyIndoor pool(s)Internet accessNear beachPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundry Both listed as being downtown halifax. Any chance of this being the Atlantica or Chocolate lake?
  2. Two nights with three adults, total charge $179.60 inc tax. Ended up with Holiday Inn Beacon Hill. I thought it was going to be the Bulfinch but oh well should be fine anyway. :) Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access
  3. I originally thought this might have been the park inn and suites on cote de liesse but turned out to be the Holiday Inn on Cote de Liesse. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center; Pool(s); Restaurant(s); Business Center; Laundry Facilities Won for $76 + tax = ~$95, Night of Sat, Sept 20/08 for 4 adults. Thanks betterbidding! :) PS I have stayed here before. Not a bad hotel. Has its ICK rooms and its nice rooms, pool is really nice on the inside. Overall just fine for a one night stay!
  4. 3* Holiday Inn Earls Court (London: Kensington/Chelsea/Knightsbridge) Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, High speed internet access Won for $59 + tax/fees = $66.15 USD Night of 5/18/08 Hopefully that's everything :) Nancy
  5. I didn't see this one in the hotel lists so hopefully someone knows what this is from experience... 2.5* Docklands - going for $59/nt for 5/17 (1 nt only) Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, high speed internet, business centre I am aware that this area is not the most desirable for tourists but if it saves me 30 bucks/nt I'm up for it (as long as it's relatively close to a tube station)... the next step up is $99/nt for a 4 star in the City/Financial district on HOTWIRE... and I doubt I'm going to get anything on PRICELINE much less than $80... Anyway, I digress. Thoughts? ~Nancy~
  6. I would say that's probably the Westin. Downtown Halifax is VERY compact and you can walk the length of it in about 25-35 minutes. Any of these hotels would be within that main downtown corridor. The Marriott is the newest of the three but the Westin has more character. That also means its rooms are a bit smaller. A note about the Deltas - Delta Barrington OR the Delta Halifax - the two are right across the street from each other. I live in Hali so if you want any insider info about the city feel free to PM me. Which one did you end up with?
  7. I had the same problem with booking what turned out to be a HI in London UK. I thought it was a cache issue as well until the price went up. I don't know how to fix it, but it IS definitely annoying that the offer is still posted on the site and they let you get all the way to the end before you're denied. Talk about getting your hopes up!
  8. I have no idea what hotels those would be...however... Having been to Paris, I can tell you that any of these locations would put you relatively close to one or two main attractions, with a fair hike to any others. The metro is great so you will be fine no matter where you go. Paris is a lovely city (aside from the doggie do) and you will enjoy it no matter where you end up. :)
  9. That is correct - I got all the way to the end, put my credit details in, and bam - rate no longer available. I was searching with 2people/1room the whole time. Tried again this morning with the $79 rate, same results. I was playing around with the dates and split it into two- one night stays. By doing that, I was in fact able to book it for Sun 5/18 but not for Sat 5/17. I'm not too worried about having to switch hotels since we're just going for the two nights...but... I *would* like to get that rate again! So I guess this is a 50% success story. I received the HI Earls Court 3* property @$59 which is just what I anticipated thanks to the boards. I'll just have to keep my eyes keen for the next two or three days to see if that rate pops up again! It is still listed in the "hot deals" section but is no longer available for booking. If not, the 2nd best appears to be a 4* in the City-Financial district @ $99 for 5/17. Is that decent, or would it normally be higher/lower? From the amenities looks like it would be either the Hilton Islington or the Club Quarters Gracechurch.
  10. Hi folks, This hotel popped up on HOTWIRE last night for my dates of May 17/18 at $59/night. In the middle of booking it the rate disappeared. Needless to say I was not amused. Today it's shown up again only at $79/night. In your experience do rates tend to fluctuate, or when they go up do they stay up? Just wondering if I should push my luck at the risk of losing out again. From what I've read on the forum this appears to be the HI Earl's court from the description... Not a bad location and definitely good for the price. Help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated! Nancy PS - In your PRICELINE experience has this type of deal been beat? I tried bidding up to $60/nt for 3*/4* in several London areas last night with no luck...
