Bid incrementally over the last 5 days starting at 60$ (no rebid zone there). Highest failing bid yesterday @ 74$, no idea if the inventory changed overnight. That was my last try before going for the Express deal @ 83$. It looks OK. At least this Holiday Inn is entirely smoke-free, which means I'll get a non-smoking room for sure(sometimes an issue with Priceline for hotels which still have smoking rooms).

After many rebids inching slowly 3$ at a time, finally booked this hotel. Was hoping to get the Crowne Plaza because I love the highway views (haven't stayed there since it was a Renaissance though), but still look quite nice for the price. Can't be too picky when you don't want to pay posted prices! Highest rejected bid was 91$. A Priceline express 3.5* Syracuse University was available for 104$, so I only saved 10$ from that. Used the PRICELINE link as usual.

Just bid on 2 rooms for 4 nights in Boston, and impressed my friends with my money savings talents! Got the Sheraton on the 1st try, at 52$ (it looked like a sweet number from past wins, and there aren't any free re-bid zones to use). Total for 2 rooms of $479.84 with taxes & fees. Sorry to say I forgot to use the PRICELINE link.

I've been trying to get this night for a few weeks already. After raising my bid up to 60$ for a 3* and still rejected, I decided to try at the 2* level aiming for the Fairfield Inn. Without rebid zones, I finally got to 50$ yesterday, which resulted in a counter offer at 60$ (did not take it). So today I went up halfway to 55$, and surprise, upgraded to the 3* I bid 60$ for 2 weeks ago. Then when to look at the Sheraton for those dates and found out there was no availability for the Wednesday night... Doh! Changed dates, and got it on the first try at 40$! First tried 3.5* in Trumbull–Shelton zone for 60$, no luck. Then restarted and tried Stratford–Milford zone only, 3* for 50$. Got an offer to increase my bid by 10$, declined. Restarted the bid with both zones (Trumbull–Shelton & Stratford–Milford) at 3* for 55$ and got it! Hotel looks great, seems newly built. Only lacking a pool, but for one night not a problem. The free Wi-Fi & breakfast are a bonus. After spending some time reviewing the boards, I was not surprised to get the Hyatt Regency for 40$/night, on first try. There was a 4* listed at 63$ on HOTWIRE, was tempted to try see and see if it might be the Westin (looked real nice) instead, but my cheapness won out! For the last week, I've been trying for a 3* in Burlington for 2/25-2/27, using the PRICELINE link. Started at 40$ up to 65$ almost everyday last week, and today after my 55$ bid got the "If increase you bid by 15$ you can bid right again". So I just redid my bid adding a dummy zone, increased by 5$ only, and got it at 60$. Got my usual trusty non-smoking Marriott Courtyard Taft Corners. Trying for a 3* in Burlington for 4/24-4/26, using the PRICELINE link. Fist thing is that the big Burlington-Williston zone is now cut in 2: Burlington (zone 1) is the downtown zone, and Williston (zone 6) to the east. Took a while to be sure my memory was right! Much better for people wanting easy access to downtown, and I guess a better shot at the Sheraton. Before I saw the zone change I was just thinking to go 3*, and take whatever would come (the Courtyard being fine), but I decided to give a lowball shot for the Sheraton, even if it meant paying for Internet. A: Tried 3* in Burlington for 40, 45 &50$ no luck. Before going higher, went to plant B. B: Tried 3* in Williston for 40$. Accepted immediately, Courtyard Burlington Tafts Corners. Went back to look at my past trips, and here is my little contribution: Burlington - Williston Courtyard By Marriott Burlington Taft Corners was 2.5*, now 3* Not sure how I feel about that, it will now fall in the same category as the Sheraton, which seems a bit nicer, and that I wanted to try next time... It would be a gamble now, so be it!

Got a great stay there, was disappointed we came in late and had to leave early! When I checked out, I got a statement, and the room "prepaid" price was 55.37$, which, once you remove the 13% tax, gives a room rate of 49$. I was almost spot on the rock bottom price.

Bid on this one while I was away last week (on 08/01/2008), so its already over! No "extra" nice decor, bedding, or bathroom.

Never had a problem checking-in as an 18 years old in Quebec (legal majority: 18), or in British Columbia (majority: 19). In fact, I was never asked for my age at all, and some of those times were with a group of friends, things that hotels are generally leery of. Other times, it was for a "romantic" night with my boyfriend! It would never have occurred to me that we could be denied based on our age at that time. And I look and sound very young, so no one could have mistaken my age on the older side.
