  1. Thanks. I wonder how much more the Cosmo and/or the Aria would've been? But nevertheless I'm happy about my win, although, the "hotel/resort" fees are a whopping $130...
  2. Need help ID'ing this hotel. This is from the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals page for $108 per night. Guest Favorite Rated 8.0 out of 10 Amenities: Free Parking Business Center Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center Check-in: November 8 Check-out: November 12
  3. Yes i am pleased with the results.. I called the hotel directly and they said there was a recent policy change worldwide in that no elite benefits will be honored unless booked directly from their website or via phone. but again, it doesn't hurt to show it to them upon check-in :) thanks guys!
  4. Just as I expected (based on your hotel listing -- THANKS!). We are flying down on 8/8 but I booked via hotwire from 8/9 thru 8/11 for $95/night. It turned out to be the 3.5* Doubletree North Redington Beach Resort (a Hilton property). And then I extended the stay by one-day and the fee came out to $133/night. As expected I saved over $60 by doing it this way rather booking 8/8 thru 8/11 for $130/night directly (it was a gamble but i was okay with it). Thanks again guys! I'm a HIlton Gold member and I just found out I can't get points or avail of the Gold member benefits because i used a 3rd party to book my stay. Must be a new policy. Great deal still but that sucks badly because no upgrades & no breakfast.
  5. Can I book a hotwire deal from 8/9 thru 8/11 and then if we decide that we want to get there earlier on 8/8, can I extend the booking for the same price/per night? or do I need to book a new selection and new date all over again just for that one extra day?
  6. Thanks Aaron. I don't think I want the Zamora hotel. If the Madiera is indeed the Hilton Doubletree. i'll grab that.. but need to do more research first to make sure my odds are better in getting it.
  7. Need help in identifying these two 3.5* for 8/8 through 8/11/2015. Finally was able to use the Bidding.Helper.com at home. $133/nt on the "St Pete Beach" area 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating 80% Hotwire recommended customer reviews FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Resort, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby $129/nt on the "Madeira Beach - Indian Rocks Beach" -- (According to your list, this looks to be the Doubletree Hilton?) 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating 95% Hotwire recommended customer reviews FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Beachfront hotel, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking I would like to bid/get the Don Cesar Beach Resort and Spa because it's conveniently located where we want to be but that's too expensive (I think it's $205/nt on hotwire). ;)
  8. You made good points.. Should I hold out just a little bit closer to the date as it usually drops in price? I think we had a conversation via PM where I can't use that weblink at work since there are some filters/blocks on corporate machines. What I can try to do is once I find some time when I'm at home, I can try to replicate the search and post back here. As for the budget, I see that 5 star hotels (can be <100, i'd like to stick to that general range - pre-taxes, fees of course). Thanks!
  9. Sorry -- similar to my other posts (http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=204020#entry720240) Rome was a lot cheaper booking directly with the hotel since they had local promotions at that time. Sorry forgot to close that.
  10. I'd like help in identifying what these two hotels are for November 8 through 12th, 2015. I am going with my mother and her friends but would like to stay in a different hotel (but close to theirs). They are staying in Bally's and there's really no good option in the Center Strip area, so these two below are from the North Strip. 1) North Strip Area (Hot Rate All-Suite-Hotels) 5-Stars $97 per night (65% off) Hotwire customer reviews 95% recommended (504 total reviews) 4.5 out of 5.0 TripAdvisor Free Parking Free Internet Suite Resort Casino Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center 2) North Strip Area (Hot Rate Casino Hotel) 5-Stars $97 per night (65% off) Hotwire customer reviews 95% recommended (632 total reviews) 4.5 out of 5.0 TripAdvisor Free Parking Free Internet Resort Suite Casino Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center I highlighted what I thought were different from each other. I'm guessing they're either the Palazzo and/or the Venetian.

  12. Please close this thread. Similar to my florence trip, i booked a couple of suites which turned out to be better in price, location and deal than booking multiple individual rooms for my stay. THanks again.
  13. Sorry 'San Marco' is translated to Saint Mark. so in Priceline the area is called "Saint Mark Square - Grand Canal" The zone is "Saint Mark Square - Grand Canal" and it only has "Pets Allowed" on the amenities. It is a 3 star hotel and has a "Guest Rating of 7+ (Good)".
  14. I did priceline for 3 rooms for $190 for a 4* got rejected. I looked at the "book a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal" and see a 3* for $165 at the San Marco area. Any idea what this could be? Also, I can bid for 3 star hotels on the san marco area but would need to know the possible hits for those. Any clue?
  15. hi please close this thread. I ended up booking directly with the hotel website for a suite rather than multiple individual rooms. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use your Hot.wire / PRICELINE links to book my Florence rooms. Thanks.
  16. well isn't that a hoot... i don't see this anymore when i click on your HOTWIRE link. probably was too good to be true. im getting a headache from all this research. i'll wait until venice is done and i'll reply back to this afterwards.
  17. holy cow - lol sorry for the late response symehta. this trip was cancelled so i never got to find out what the hotel was.
  18. Sorry for the confusion.. 5 adults - 1 child = 6 total persons. Okay, let's do 3 total rooms then.
  19. Florence, Italy: Old Town - Duomo - Ponte Vecchio area May 18th - 21st for 3 rooms for 6 people. 90% recommended Hotwire customer reviews Free breakfast Free internet Pet friendly Tripadvisor rating: 3.0 out of 5.0 I'm seeing this for $94 a night (58% off) Thanks!
  20. if you think i can get a room within those areas for under 140/nt per room then i'll get 3 (saves me the hassle then of requesting a room with two beds) -- [i didn't think this wouldve been an inconvenience for a lux hotel?]. it looks like via HOTWIRE 2 rooms with 5 of us will equate to the same, right? what do you think? I'm willing to use hotwire as long as the hotel & cost ratio is reasonable. Thanks!
  21. hey Aaron -- we will have 6 people total. so i was assuming 2 rooms with 3 people per room. For Venice, our budget can be up to 220 USD per room per night. If this is not feasible, then I can re-think my strategy to include 3*+. My friend either used hotwire or priceline long ago when we stayed in Giudecca and i remember paying about $130 /night. Is this still around the same range or has it gone exponentially higher?
  22. hey guys -- My wife and I planning a family vacation to Italy in May. We will be visiting Venice, Florence and Rome. I have been to these cities already however my parents are coming along and would like to get a "taste" of each city so in the future they can choose which city they want to stay longer. Currently, we plan on staying in Venice & Florence for 2 nights ea. and 4 nights in Rome. We are flying directly into VCE so Venice will be 1.5 days (which is fine). I will create a new thread for each city but i'd like to start with this Venice post. The dates for Venice is May 16 and check-out on the 18th. I need 2 rooms or possibly 3 rooms but I understand once I win a bid I can always add more nights as well as the number of rooms. Because I am also traveling with my nephew who is 4 years old and with 2 seniors. I prefer to stay in at least a 4* on the following properties: (1) St. Mark's Square, (2) Rialto bridge area or in (3) Giudecca (if the Hilton Molino Stucky comes out as a better deal). Any Suggestions? I am checking with my company travel benefits section today and will start my priceline bids tomorrow. Any help is helpful! Thanks!
  23. As usual, I clicked and used your Hotwire link and won the Hilton Riverside. Hotel Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessibility: Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks guys.
