  1. Received Hyatt Regency. The Pike is the real 4* hotel which I hoped to get. Hotwire's deceptive star rating is frustrating. They defend by saying hotrate has its own rating system, so it might not has the same star rating as other sites - even their own standard rate site / parent Expedia.com / sister-company hotels.com However, I have never heard of a hotel which e.g. Hotwire rates as 3*, while it is 4-5* everywhere else. They are just inflating the stars to deceive their customers in order to make more money. I don't see myself using them in the future.
  2. I received this 3.5* hotel but it was supposed to be a 4* (95%+) hotel. Their own website rates it as a 3.5* 92% hotel: Hotwire standard Hyatt Regency Long Beach hotels.com (sister company) rates it as 3.5* as well: hotels.com Hyatt Regency Long Beach Expedia(parent comapny) rates it as 3.5* as well: Expedia.com/Los-Angeles-Hotels-Hyatt-Regency-Long-Beach.h23483.Hotel-Information"]Expedia Hyatt Regency Long Beach Do I have any recourse? I called them but they were not interested in doing anything. I have used Hotwire before and I do not think I will use them anymore in the future.
  3. I booked a "95%" 4-star in the "Long Beach area" (Los Angeles, CA) and got the following which is just 92%. And not only that, it is only rated 3.5-star. I called their customer service and got nowhere. http://vacation.hotwire.com/Los-Angeles-Hotels-Hyatt-Regency-Long-Beach.h23483.Hotel-Information
  4. Tried to bid from $60-$90 for a resort over the Memorial weekend, but failed. Posters have been winning for ~$85 but it appears that the hotels are not giving this rate for the Memorial weekend yet. Is it too early for me bid for Memorial weekend travel?
  5. Thanks Keoni! I hope I will get a good experience as well. I was just skeptical because my friend told me that he was once thrown into a weird conference room (with a conference table that can seat 12ppl and one of those beds that flip into a wall) when he got a room from Grand Sierra through PRICELINE last year. However, he was able to change to a new "Summit" room after complaining, though. I hope my experience at Peppermill will be better! But yes, I agree, $40 a night!
  6. Does anyone have experience with Peppermill and priceline reservations? Will I be able to get a normal room (or upgraded to a tower room :))? Or will I be thrown into a weird conference room? Thanks! 1st bid = Reno (South) + Sparks @ $20 - Rejected 2nd bid = Reno (South) + Reno (Downtown) + Sparks @ $40 - accepted Total = 2 rooms for 2 nights = $189 after tax!
