  1. In the room, it stated that this room was 842 euro per night. I would have been happy if we had of paid about 100 US. We paid 260 US per night. I like to refer to it as our "prison". If you are using priceline to stay at this hotel, then you can not afford it. One drink at the bar was 20 euros, at todays exchange rate that is 32 dollars. The only good part about the hotel is the pool, it is nice although it is very warm as they don't cool it, and there are not enough loungers and they close it at 7:00 even though all their literature will say open until 9. We got to stay in the ghetto section of the hotel, the part where you have to beg and plead to get a glass for your bathroom, forget about a mug for your in room coffee service or even the coffee. And the room was not cleaned once, they did make the bed but that was it. They must have been in and out in two minutes. Empty the garbage? No way, they had no time for that. You could complain about all this but they don't care, nothing changes, they have higher paying priced guests to attend to. It makes it odd, if you have stayed in hotels this caliber it makes it frustrating to not expect the same level of care that we would get in those other hotels. I would have preferred to stay in a smaller hotel who appreciated my money and showed some service and care. Some hotel out there would have been happy to have us as guests. One of the worst parts was there are no outside areas where you can sit without having to order a drink or buy food. Nothing, not a bench, not a little grass area, nothing! Oh, except the pool that closes at 7. Priceline no more, it's not worth it on your holiday to be treated as so. A part of me believes that if the Hilton is willing to auction their rooms as five star at lower prices that is their choice, they should still treat all guests with the same courtesy, but they didn't. This is such a large hotel they are just trying to fill their undesirable rooms at some price and then just forget they ever did it.
  2. Got a reply from the hotel, they said that children under sixteen stay free on a cot. Phew! It was one more cost that was stressing me out. I am very happy and I think that we are going to have a great trip!
  3. Thanks. So it will turn out to be a $460 a night hotel. Hmm. Not quite the deal. Once again red wine + priceline. No good. How can they charge $200 extra dollars a night for a child, breakfast isn't even included in their rates.
  4. Bid $200 Venice Counter $248 Added Lido (there is a five star there but it was showing as $800 a night) no counter Bid $210 Added Mestre no counter Bid $220 Added Lido no counter Added one more night Bid $230 Got it, works out to $260 a night. (maybe not in that order but those where my changes) Hoping to get my daughter on a cot. Went to Hilton website, put in dates with two adults and put in dates for two adults one child. they want over 1000 euros extra a night for a child in the room if I book over their site. Guess they put you in a big suite if you have children. Big sinking feeling. Moral of story, red wine and bidding for hotel rooms over internet don't pay off. Have sent email to hotel requesting cot, see what they say. No more Priceline for me! Too stressful.
