Hi.
I need help id'ing a 5 star hotel in Vienna City Center - Opera - Ringstrasse Boulevard area
3 rooms. 1 adult per room. USD$104.
check in 18 Dec 18, check out 22 Dec 18.
Full amenities from Biddng Helper: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
Many thanks
That was definitely it - I've checked. No other amenities.
its worth mentioning the Hotwire zone for Chinatown is much larger than the one for Priceline. That was my mistake - I didn't pick it up.
Amenities: Free parking, fitness, pool, Internet,
bit disappointed as it's barely Chinatown in location. Right on the edge of the zone map
My travelmate went ahead and booked. It was the Whitcomb.
FYI the price was for 3 people in 1 room.
Civic Center South - Hayes Valley. 3 Stars.
11/3/12 - 11/7/12. $85 per night.
Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center
I'm guessing Whitcomb at only 3 stars, but I'd like a 2nd opinion.
I'm already splitting my stay (3 nights in Cabo San Lucas, 3 night in San Jose Cabo) so I wouldn't want to split it any more than that.
We are talking $50 difference now (for the whole stay) so it's not really worth continuing to bid
Wanted the Pueblo Bonito Rose which is currently the only 4* hotel in this zone. Attempted bidding only in this zone and star rating at $85 and went up $5 increments every 24 hours. Gave up at $120 as for a few dollars more I can book via booking.com and know for certain I'm getting the hotel I want.
May be that I'm bidding too early and my dates fall over a weekend during the high season.
5 Star, Innere Stadt 5/2/11 - 5/4/11
Amenities - Restaurant, Pool, Hi-Speed Internet, Laundry
Le Meridien Vienna.
Just booked the Sheraton for $79 a night through the HOTWIRE link.
What were the amenties?
Enquiring on behalf a of a friend who's not used hotwire before
check in 2/3/11, check out 2/6/11
$89 - Downtown Pike Place 4*: Fitness, Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet.
I've booked 4* via hotwire in Seattle several times before and I've not seen this combination.....
Thinking it could be Westin or Sheraton, but I'd like a 2nd opinion.
Also - does the "Boutique" amentity ever drop off like Pool does for some hotels?
Started bidding at $85 for Resort - Waikiki Beach Area - rejected
Added Marina Area at $90- rejected
Went up $5 increments adding all available zones with no resorts up to $110 - rejected
Waited 24 hours - $115 Rejected

Accepted at $95 - Westin
Third year in a row at this hotel - previously won on hotwire...so very happy!
Started bidding
$80 4* USE - rejected
$82 4* USW Nob Hill - Accepted
Parc 55 Wyndham.
Starting bidding:
$70 4* Downtown Toronto South - rejected
$75 4*, 3.5*, Downtown Toronto South - rejected
$80 4*, 3.5*, 3* Downtown Toronto South - rejected
$85 4*, 3.5* Downtown Toronto South, Toronto East - rejected.
Abandoned bidding and went with 4* for $89 on HOTWIRE as per my post in Hotwire Canada section.
Only $9 more than I wanted to pay in total for my stay and i've gotten 4 star in my preferred area so I'm happy.
I need some assistance with a bidding as per above. 08/12/10 - 08/16/10.
I've had a look and noticed that in terms of rebidding -Toronto East is the only zone with less than 3*.
Suggestion as to how much I should start bidding at grateful as I'm obviously going to have to abide by the 24 hour rule if my first three bids are rejected.
My gut is telling me start at $65 for 4*. then add 3*, then add Toronto East. Or should I attempt 4 star up to my preferred max price of $85, then abandon if not successful and restart bidding for 3*?
thanks
Had to bid quickly on behalf of friend and didn't have time to spend strategising and re-bidding.
First bid accepted for 3.5 Star, Central, at $65. Got Sheraton. My friend is happy as his budget was $90.
knowing this was Lollapalooza weekend, which I'm attending, I knew i'd be paying more than is typical in Chicago, as per the calendar of wins..
Started bidding at $100 for 4* Loop/Grant Park Area. Bid rejected.
Added 3.5 stars and went up to $120. Bid rejected
Added NMA River North and went up to $130. Bid rejected
Added Lincoln Park area and went up to $135. Bid Rejected
Added Franklin Park area and went up to $140.
Bid accepted at $140 got Allerton in NMA River North.
A lot more than I wanted to pay, and not in the ideal area - but thems are the breaks for a big weekend like Lollapalooza, and I paid less than if I'd gone via one of the Expedia/Travelocity type sites. Happy under the circumstances.
Started bidding at $65 for 5* City Hall- Marina Bay area.
Bid rejected.
Bid several more times including 4* and adding Orchard Road and Bugis up to $75. Bids still rejected.
Started completely new bid for 5* City Hall- Marina Bay at $81 and bid accepted.
I've gotten Conrad Centennial Singapore which appears to be a new hotel to this site. Very happy with this result.
Started at 85 for Resort in Waikiki Beach Area.
Bid rejected.
Basing results from this forum, I went up to $95 an added Airport area.
Bid accepted at 95.
I'm not a moderator, but i've been researching waikiki hotels for a while now so I think it COULD be the Diamond Head Beach Hotel (also known as the Marc Diamond Head Beach Hotel). The star rating seems to differ between different sites, but the facilities match.
Eeeek! Glad I asked...not a fan of that hotel. Thanks for the response.
3 Star Hotel in CENTRAL WAIKIKI.
Near Beach, Fitness Centre, Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre
$58 per night. Dates: 24 Aug to 26 Aug 09
I can't find the Central Waikiki Zone in the hotel list. I'm guessing it could be Waikiki South
I'm checking out a number of hotels....Can someone confirm I've made the right matches here?
Better Bidding Hotel List Zones in GREEN. Hotwire Zones in PURPLE
Oahu (Airport Honolulu HNL) = Honolulu International Airport
Oahu (Near Beach South - Diamond Head) = Waikiki Near Beach South
Using the PRICELINE link on this board....
I started bidding at $65 a night for 4 star hotel in the downtown Vancouver area.
This was rejected so I added 3.5 star hotels into the bid.
Still rejected. So I went up to $70 and added the North Vancouver zone to the bid (which only has 1 and 2 star hotels).
I got the 3.5 star Pacific Palisades Hotel for $70 a night in the downtown area, which I'm thrilled with given the same hotel is currently on hotwire for $92 a night for the same dates.
Thanks once again guys - you've saved me a bundle of money with the tips and info you give on this board...
