  1. Booked two rooms; with fees $119.94 for both rooms. Best rate on Starwood's site is $169 a night per room before taxes.
  2. First bid $75 Boston Revere Logan Airport *4 - accepted. (Date should actually be 11/11 - I already had a night booked through Hotwire for 11/12) I bid this on the same day of my stay. I called the hotel directly to see if they could match my Hotwire rate of $99 for the following night and they said they had rooms availble, but the best rate was $219. I checked Hotwire and the hotel was now $179 there (it comes up as a customer fav and as being IN the airport). It apparently usually comes up for $70 on Priceline, but as it was same day and I didn't want to mess around so I went $5 higher to be sure.
  3. Pick up and return to BOS Avis mid-size Nov. 11-13, 2005 $26.95 a day x 2 = 53.90 tax/fees $23.09 Total $76.99 (cheapest I found through Travelocity was $100 inclusive through Enterprise)
  4. Hilton Logan Airport 4* (on Hotwire it specifically says IN Logan airport on the listing - I think this is the only hotel that could fit that description as you can walk to it via skybridge from the airport) $99 11/12-13/2005 Customer Favorite! This upscale establishment offers thoughtful features, quality rooms and a high level of service. 4 miles to town. Icons for shuttle, fitness center, restaurant, Internet and a couple others Sorry I didn't put the dates and price in the subhead ... and it looks like I can't edit it now.
  5. Thanks for the welcome. Even though the stay's a ways off, I had to book a hotel yesterday, because I'll be in a remote area with little Internet access and even less time to access it between Saturday and the date of this stay. That's why I didn't bid low, wait three days, try again, etc. Are there other strategies I might have tried though that I could have used to get a reservation that day? Now that I think about it ... using my traveling companion to rebid would have been one. Any others? Thanks for your advice.
  6. Through Priceline, 4-star Orange County (Costa Mesa-Irvine) bid $75 per night for 7/5-7/7 received Hyatt Irvine. Cheapest rate on Hyatt's website for the time period was ~$180 plus tax. I may have bid too high (saw where another poster received it for $28), but being that 7/5 is a holiday I figured I'd bid higher.
