Please help identify 3* Charleston Condo 199.00 5/27-5/28 Downtown Historic District Condo 24Hr Front Desk Restaurant Laundry Wireless Internet A/C Think it might be Restoration on King simply because that is the only condo conversion hotel that I'm aware of downtown.

Holiday Inn Historic District Possibly.

I am trying to get a hotel 3* or 4* in Charleston SC Historic District Travel Dates: 8/1/2008-8/5/2008 I am willing to break this up in two separate bids if necessary to obtain the best deal. For Friday and Saturday I would like to stay around $100.00 per For Sunday and Monday I would prefer $65.00-70.00 I have checked out Hotwire and Pricelines list and checked the hotels sites as well since I'm familiar with all the hotels in the area. I know that Sunday and Monday nights priceline has a 3.5 star that I am fairly certain is the Francis Marion for 99.00 per so that helps a little. Whats the best bidding strategy here? Thanks, J

I am no expert here but I stay in charleston quite often and lived there for 5 years so based on listed amenities and area its supposed to be in I would say either the LaQuinta Riverside, the Springhill Suites, residents inn Charleston Riverview. The problem with the "Ashley River Area" on both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE that I have found is that it encompasses hotels on both sides of the bridges to James Island and West Ashley. Both are convenient to Downtown, but to call all this area Ashley River Area covers a big spectrum. FWIW

You were right about no chance. It ended up costing me 189.00 per night at the Francis Marion Downtown Lists 309 per night for Friday and Saturday and I was able to bid seprately and get it for Sunday night for 89.00. Funny because the Francis Marion was the most exspensive of the 3 stars listed yet it was the one i got with my bid. I was within about 45 of asking price for the Marriott. More than I wanted to pay for sure, but considering prices not to bad. I got up to 235 for a 4* before I gave up if that helps anyone.

I will pay more for a 4* but if its a 3* just the best deal possible.

Need a hotel for Friday night 5/2/08-5/3/08 3* or 4* for $100.00. Downtown only. Whats my best strategy.
