  1. Booked the other days (Friday-Monday) last night on Priceline, but I left off Thursday night because I wasn't finding good deals with it included. I figured I'd stay in a different hotel, maybe with fewer stars on the first night of my trip to save money. This deal popped up on Hotwire this morning, it wasn't there last night! Found with the BiddingHelper.com tool. FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  2. Not quite as good a deal as when I won this same hotel last month for $105 per night, but still not bad.
  3. I'm going to SF a lot these days. Last time used Hotwire after not being able to get the deal I wanted on Priceline. Decided to start on Priceline this time and bid up in $5 increments from $90, adding more areas. I was bidding in Union Square West and Financial District too (those were the other areas that had 4*). Offer got accepted at $105.
  4. Had tried bidding up to $120 on Priceline with no luck, then saw this deal on Hotwire. Based on other posts here I assumed that this would be the hotel I would get so I am good with this. The reviews looked good and Hotwire said it was 90% recommended. :) Amenities listed were: Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Business center Internet access
  5. Hello. I've been trying for a few days now, gradually moving my bids higher as, I have to admit, I get a little more desperate with my trip getting closer! :) Going to SF August 8-11 for a mini holiday weekend with my husband. I've been bidding first on Union Square East, then adding Union Square West, then adding SOMA (all of which I would be equally happy with), then adding the 6 safe rebid zones and incrementing by $5 each bid. A few days ago I got up to $200 and yesterday up to $250. This morning I had an email from Priceline telling me to try my $250 bid again - I did not, I came here and clicked the PRICELINE link from here instead. I started bidding at $230 this time and finally got accepted at $270. I also used the SUMMER coupon code and got $40 off the total. It's not the best deal I've ever gotten in SF, but based on the prices I've been seeing when I search for hotels I'm happy with the price we got. Thanks Better Bidding!
  6. My husband and I needed a hotel for 1 night because our vacation rental wasn't available for our first night of our stay. We were hoping for the W as it is convenient to the vacation rental location, and I booked based on the posts on here because I thought we would get what we wanted. Well, we are glad that we did get what we wanted and we're pretty pleased with the price as well - the listed price online was $300. Sorry, I forgot to get the amenities before I booked, but they were the exact same as someone else's recent post about getting the W. We used the HOTWIRE link from this site. Thanks again, Betterbidding!
  7. I used the PRICELINE link from this forum. I bid first at $100, it was not accepted. Priceline said I could try again at $122 but I chose not to, added another area (that doesn't have any 4* options), and rebid for $105. It was accepted by the Westin St. Francis.
  8. For this bid I wasn't trying too hard and I was bidding in a few areas. This was my first bid, and I think it was a little too high. All I was looking for was a decent hotel somewhere near Paddington station to stay at our first night after a long flight to London (one night, 7/2/08). I bid $120 for a 4*, and it was accepted by Hilton London Olympia in Kensington.
  9. Hey all, I'm new here but I used this site to try to get some hotel stays in London yesterday. I clicked the PRICELINE link from the forum. This bid was for a stay from 7/5-7/7 2008 and I was bidding in Mayfair-Soho. I was aiming to get the Sofitel St. James. I started my bid at $180, got a counter-offer for $256 (I think). Then I started selecting other regions that don't have any 5-star hotels so it would let me re-bid. I kept bidding up in $5 increments until it accepted a $230 bid, and I got The Grosvenor House. I don't see any other posts about this hotel on this forum, but I'm fairly happy with the price I got as it seems to be about a 50% discount off the price for this hotel on lastminute.com.
