  1. I'm surprised you got this. I was bidding for 6/12 and 6/19 for 3* and 4*. I bid at $250 and didn't get anything. :(
  2. Dates are 9/29 to 10/2, price is $212 on Hotwire I am guessing this is the Grand Hyatt, the Roosevelt or Intercontinental Barclay. I've seen a note on the web about bedbugs at the Barclay, don't want to go there! I would appreciate any help in identifying this hotel. Amenities are: Recommended by 90% of Hotwire customer reviews 4-star Hotel in Midtown East This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. 3. Another user bid in this area at $47 so that's where I started. they have the Ramada, but I got the Comfort Inn. Both are similar in star ratings and in the normal room rate. The Comfort Inn regular rate was $76. Of course, I used the PRICELINE link published here on this website.
  4. This is separate from my win for this same hotel on 12/30. I already had a reservation at an expensive resort hotel (Conrad). I had won a room at the Courtyard for only $80 on 12/30. I decided to take a chance and try to get this same hotel for 12/24-12/27. I'm staying in San Juan for a few days, going to the western side of the island, then coming back to San Juan for one night. This Courtyard works out perfectly. Again, the going rate for this hotel is $189 so this is a fantastic deal on Priceline. I am also saving a lot of money versus the expensive resort hotel I planned to stay at. I'll be going to the beaches on the western side of the island later, so I didn't care too much about being on the beach in San Juan.
  5. I was bidding at $71 for a 2 1/2 star hotel. My bid wasn't accepted so I tried $80. I was upgraded to a 3* property, this Courtyard by Marriott. I'm very happy with the price, especially considering the quality of hotel I received. The published rate for that date is $189! Of course, I used the PRICELINE link provided here on the board to start my bidding.
  6. I originally bid $50 unsuccessfully, then Priceline suggested I try again at $59, which I did. So bidding at $59 I won the Crowne Plaza Resort. Their regular price at the time was $99 so that's a 40% discount. Not bad. BTW, I love the tool that lets me post Priceline/Hotwire wins. It makes the process so much easier!!
  7. This isn't the best 3* hotel in the historic district, but I was happy with the price. $54 for a 3* is not much more than you would pay for a Motel 6. 3-star Hotel in Savannah Historic District Four Points by Sheraton Historic Savannah 520 West Bryan Street, Savannah, GA, 31401 This Hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Of course, I used the HOTWIRE link on the board to begin my travel purchase!
  8. OK. I think I've answered my own question. From searching the forum it looks like this 3* could be Le Consulat Hotel. It doesn't look very attractive when I research it on Google. I think I'll pass. Right now Hotwire is not offering a 4* hotel for the dates I'm staying. I've already tried Priceline but I didn't bid high enough. I may try PRICELINE again in a few days. Looks like I may have to pay full price for a hotel there!
  9. I'm looking to book a hotel in San Juan from 12/24 to 12/27 using Hotwire. When I do a search, I have the option for a 3* hotel. The amenities are pretty slim. They are: *Smoke Free Rooms *Pool(s) Does anyone have an idea what hotel this could be? I know some folks have gotten the Doubletree, but this amenity list doesn't seem to match it.
  10. This is a pretty good deal, even with tax. Regular rate is about twice what I paid.
  11. The reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor are not great. I hope I didn't make a mistake using PRICELINE in this city! It's only $45 a night, though. That's less than a Motel 6!
  12. I tried first at $50 then at $60 I got the Marriott Richmond. The regular rate right now is about $200! I can't believe I saved so much. I used the PRICELINE link to bid.
  13. When bidding I tried at $75, then $85 and then got it at $95. I see another poster got it for $75 in September but that didn't work for me. I have stayed here before and I love the place. Even having to pay parking fees it's still a deal. The Priceline price is still almost 50% off. BTW, I used the PRICELINE link from this site to start my bidding. I just wanted to say "thanks" for having this site. It's a great resource! I have used it several times previously.
  14. Amenities were: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby
  15. Date of Stay: January 16-19, 2010 Priceline bid: $90 accepted on first try (after separate unsuccessful bid) Used PRICELINE link from this site Hotel: Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Canal St I had previously tried bidding (through this site) for a 4* in French Quarter and Downtown. I had bid at $55 and increased to $70 but with no luck. I went back again through this website (without logging in to Priceline) and did a separate bid for Downtown at $90 hoping to get the JW Marriott as another poster had done. Unfortunately I didn't have any luck, and ended up with the Sheraton instead. Oh well. :)
  16. I thought I'd get the Hilton since another poster mentioned that, but it turned out to be the Westin. Apparently both hotels are advertising "golf course" as an amenity. I thought only the Hilton did that, but obviously it's not the only one!
