  3. Hi, I was offered $79/night for a three star with the following ammenities: Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Business Center Laundry Rated 3.5 on trip advisor The dates are April 7-11. Any help IDing would be appreciated.
  4. I have bid on cars from PRICELINE several times and always received good service just like I had made a normal reservation. One time I received an upgrade at no cost (and took it) and I am normaly offered to upgrade for some additional $$ (I don't take these). The only caution I have is if you are arriving late at night since some car agencies close earlier than others. I know that you enter a time for pickup but give some thought if your flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30 but arrives at 12:00 is the place still going to be open. (This depends on the airport) With a normal reservation you would just go to an open counter but now you have prepaid so you may have an issue. If you arriving early in the evening or during the day it really does not matter since you have a good size buffer. The other item to consider is if you have any additional drivers, e.g., your spouse. Some places normally charge some don't. With bidding you don't have control so you may end up paying. Good luck.
  5. First time bidding since the redo of the ratings. I was hoping for something in Beachwood but this is OK. Last time I got the Embassy Suites in Beachwood which was quite nice - no free breakfast or reception with this one. I started the bid at $48 so I don't know if I could have gone lower. I was kind of surprised when it was accepted. Details: Doubletree Hotel - Cleveland South Independence - Beachwood 6200 Quarry Lane Cleveland, Ohio 44131 Room (8 nights) 384 Tax/fees 72.05 Total 456.05 The price on the web site was $124/night prepaid so I can't complain too much.
  6. Priceline has redone its star rating in many areas. They added a 3.5 star rating and many hotels in the 2.5-3 star ratings have been moved around due to this change.
  7. The dates are 9/6/2008 till 9/20/2008 (two weeks) - Sorry I forgot to include in the original posting.
  8. Started bidding at 45 using the Independence-Beachwood and Mayfield Cleveland East. Free rebid to 48 and then to 50 (Elyria and Brookpark). Accepted at $50 / night. I am delighted. I had hoped to get the Beachwood Hilton (where I have stayed) but I think this may be better. Hotel 700 Fees/Taxes 125.11 Total 825.11 Web price was from 109-159.
  9. REVIEW - I decided not to stay and moved to the Hyatt Place in Independence ($40/night and nicer) The hotel was OK but not great. The room had a King bed, sofa, microwave, refrigerator, iron, board, coffee maker, hair dryer. The bed was quite nice since you could adjust the firmness. My main complaint about the hotel was that it was not clean due to an ongoing renovation. The carpets were dusty and there were small pieces of construction debris. I think this could have been controlled a lot better if they had taken the effort to vacuum the place on a daily basis. In addition the pool was closed due to mechanical problems for my entire stay. Upon checkout I was charged long distance rates for a local call and a toll free call. When I complained they explained that they don't determine if the call is local or not. I explained I did not have any faith in their system since the toll free number was also billed as long distance so there must be some issues with their system. In addition when I stay at the Courtyard up the road this is a local call. The charges were removed with out any further discussion. If given a choice I would stay at the Courtyard up the road which is 2.5* but I did not get it for this bid.
  10. Is this the Embassy Suites in Beachwood or Independence? There is one in each.
  11. After much bidding I finally got the Radison. I have been trying for several days at lower prices with free rebids (2.5* and up). This finally showed up today. Radisson Hotel And Conference Center Cleveland 3-star 35000 Curtis Blvd Eastlake, Ohio 44095 Room = 240 Tax/Fees = 47.08 Total = 287.08 I have an offer to extend and may depending on the place. Used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding.
  12. Bid $40 for 2.5* in Cleveland (Independence/Beachwood). Accepted on first bid. Hyatt Place Room 7 nights @40 = 280 Taxes /fees =53.86 Total 333.86 Hotel provides breakfast. I hoped I would be in Beachwood but independence will be OK. Hotwire rated this place as a 3* and was charging $56/night. (I booked a similar stay through hotwire since I need to know that the room would hold 4 for that trip.) Used the PRICELINE link.
  13. Hyatt Place - Independence, Ohio Amenities - Breakfast, fitness, pool, business center, high speed internet. This place looks nice and has great reviews. 5 nights at 56 = 336 Tax and fees = 50.49 Total 386.49 A nice savings over the list rate.
  14. Bid $40 and bid was accepted at the Hyatt Place 2 nights = 80 Tax and fees = 19.19 Total 99.19 for the two nights Looks like a nice place. Used the PRICELINE link from the board.
