$150 was the first price we tried with this location. Started off trying to book the 5* intercon on Price.line for less than the Hot.wire price of $220 and failed with bids of 180, 190, 200, 205, 210, 215, 218, etc. Decided that we wanted to be in the seaport district anyway and bid $150 - significantly less than the $192 for the Seaport Boston on Hotwire. Happy with the price, though there's always that part of me that wishes we started the bidding lower!

Started bidding yesterday with prices starting around 100 and worked up to 140. Nothing. Came back today and started at 140 with just Midtown East then added Central Park South for 145 and got this hotel. Nice and convenient to Grand Central for the weekend.

Had been tracking rates in Brookline area for 3* Hotwire hotels and noticed they were going up. Brief effort at scoring a 3* hotel on priceline for sub $60 failed yesterday. Noticed the Priceline express deal for $69 and figured it was the best western based on the free parking. Figured that might work for us given the free parking, so tried $45 then $53 (with Beacon Hill as second rebid location). We could have been more aggressive, but I didn't want to make a wrong move and end up at the wrong 2* hotel.

Features listed: Free Internet , Indoor pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Plus accessible access etc. Didn't feel like playing Priceline Roulette with this one and was fairly sure that it was the Crowne Plaza.

Daily bids of 30, 33, 36, 40. Got an instant rebid of 51. Waited 24hrs then bid of $45 was accepted. Best rate on Hotwire was $55 (Probably best western). Bidding was tricky because all 3 areas have 3* hotels I believe (And they include the best western which is kind of old and Shrewsbury, which is not where we want to be). Did not dare bid 1* in case they found a hotel we don't know about! Had enough days to slowly rebid and didn't care too badly if I didn't get the hotel. Would love tips on the optimal bidding strategy if there was one.

Started at $120 in Quincy market. Did $5 rebids up to $140 (I know I could have done one more rebid for 145 but 140 was the max was going to pay) and didn't get anything Started at $120 in Harborfront. Cursed at self for not starting cheaper :) Now to figure out a cheap option for parking... :)

Sorry it took me a while to post this. I booked it last minute (Late Saturday) then almost didn't get out because of snow in Denver. Bid on 4* at Boston Logan. Started bidding at $55 (I wish) and used 5 rebids to work up to the final accepted bid of $68. $67 was rejected. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Well worth the money. P.S. I used the PRICELINE links :)

I'd honestly be prepared to pay the HOTWIRE price if push came to shove. I also don't mind if I don't get a room (It's a stay of convenience, saving me 3 hours of round trip travel between the hours of 12am and 6am. Is there any advantage to waiting until the day of the stay to book? (Given that it is not a peak weekend). This would save me some hassle if my flight into Boston is delayed (chance of snow at origin).

HOTWIRE currently has a 4* hotel (Hyatt I believe) for $79 for Sunday night. What price would you recommend I start my bidding with PRICELINE? I assume I can bid a few extra times by adding Brookline, Fenway and Somerville to successive bids. Thanks for any pointers.

Original bid was $150. Upped it to $180 and was accepted. Rate is the same that is being offered to citywide conference attendees booking through the conference. (This weekend is tight for rooms in because of two citywide conferences with large room blocks at all the major hotels).
