  1. Does anyone know what hotel this is? April 3, 2009 3-star hotel in Mount Pleasant - Isle of Palms - $174.00 This hotel features the following amenities: Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Kitchenette Thanks!
  2. We stayed at the Conrad Hilton Chicago August 12-16, 2008. The hotel was fabulous. One entrance is on Rush Street and the other entrance is on Michigan Ave. in the heart of the retail district of the Magnificent Mile. We were on the 12th floor (the hotel sits atop a high end shopping center and the lobby is on the 5th floor) and our room was pure luxury and the service excellent. We did not eat at the hotel due to prices but went to Carmine's on Rush Street (a short taxi ride in the evening) and to the West Egg a few blocks from the hotel for breakfast. The West Egg is good food at reasonable prices and Carnine's provides a fun Rush Street experience at reasonable prices. The hotel has a large plasma TV in every room and the shower could fit 4 people. I asked about a room with a view of the city but they said it would be $40 extra per night. I decided to put that towards dinners instead. When I got home I realized I left a few small items of clothing in the dresser drawer. I called the hotel and they sent them to me right away by Fedex at no charge. I paid $145.00 on Hotwire which I booked through the link on this site. Hotwire did not disappoint. The Conrad Hilton in Chicago was a five star hotel at a three star price. One more note - you can try to get tickets to the shows for $25.00 the day of the show but we learned that you need to start lining up at the theatre at 7am the day of the show. We found this out when we inquired about Jersey Boys at the Bank of America theatre (formally the LaSalle theatre).
  3. Mount Pleasant - Isle of Palms Hotel - We stayed one night on 5/18. It is a wonderful resort hotel. The colors in the room are VERY bright - blues and yellows - but the room is very comfortable with a sitting area and plasma TV. Some windows have shutters only so it is hard to block all the light for sleeping. Also, there is no coffee maker in the room as someone else mentioned. We thought there might be free coffee in the lobby but there was none. I'm not a big coffee drinker so it did not matter to me, but I know it is important to some. Overall this hotel is a great deal for the hotwire price. Amenities are below. This Hotel features the following amenities: Resort Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. Depending on location, recreational activities may include water sports, golf, tennis or skiing. Coastal resorts usually boast ocean views or beachfront access. Note: A resort fee may be charged. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. Golf Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies. Children's Activity Program Property offers supervised programs, events or activities for younger guests; an additional charge may apply.
  4. I also got the Charleston Harbor Resort for $84.00. We had to come in on a Sunday night instead of a Saturday night to get the $84.00 price but I think it will be worth it. Thanks to the previous post on this for the info! I used the link on this site to book through HOTWIRE.
  5. Is there something wrong with the one above? That's actually not a bad price for that area that time of year. She also wants beachfront. Thanks.
  6. I am helping a friend out for Ocean City MD. She wants beachfront, most of the hotels there are pretty expensive in the summer. Do you know what this one is that comes up on hotwire? 3-star hotel in Ocean City - Fenwick Island $214/night - Best Value Beachfront, pool, fitness, restaurant Trip Advisor rating 2.5 out of 5 Based on 20+ customer reviews Last reviewed October 2007 Thanks!
  7. I had three confirmations (one here and two on trip advisor) that the first one I listed was the Conrad Hilton and all three recommended it. I have now booked it on HOTWIRE (using the link on this site!) and it is indeed the Conrad for $142/night. This was my first time using HOTWIRE and I think I will be glad I did. Thanks to everyone who responded to my pleas for help. You guys and this site are awesome!
  8. After researching, if it is the Holiday Inn Plaza Mart, I think I only want it as a last resort. In the meantime, my number of people in a room is now 2 or 3. I found it interesting that someone posted getting the Intercontinental for 3 people/1 room for $159 for 5/10-5/15. I would love to get the Intercontinental or the Hard Rock. Can anyone identify these choices from Hotwire? Thank you, thank you! 9. I am turning 50 August 14th. I guess if Madonna can turn 50 this year, I can too. LOL. I will be staying in Chicago (still trying to figure out the best HOTWIRE option), but may be interested in the Fairmont this summer. Also, thanks for the Expedia heads up on the Tuesday sales!
  10. Thanks for the quick reply. I think I am coming to the same conclusion regarding what appears to be the Holiday Inn on Hotwire. Just one more question - What do you think of the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza? I am finding mixed reviews. Location is not as ideal as say the Chicago City Center (where you get 2 queen beds instead of 2 double beds at the Holiday Inn) or the Hard Rock hotel which would be a fun place. People seem to think the Holiday Inn Plaza Mart is "okay". What do you think? I see some people got the Hard Rock thru Hotwire for some of the dates I am looking at, but I'm sure they put in for 2 people. Decisons, decisions! I plan to book in the next day or so. Thanks for your help!
  11. My first time on this site....I would like to book thru the links on this site. I have never booked a hotel with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE before. Going to Chicago for my 50th birthday with my 2 adult children (18 &21) and possibly one of their friends. I would like to make sure the hotel can accomodate 3-4 adults (2 beds, queen beds if possible, or a king and a pull out couch). A pool would be nice. Would like a hot tub but those seem hard to come by. Looking for good location to Mag Mile for best price. Would it be better to check hotwire for 2 adults and ask for 2 beds later (cheaper price and more selection of hotels), or just take the choices they offer for 3-4 adults (limited offerings)? I haven't tried priceline because you can only specifc 2 adults, but don't know if that is a problem to have 3-4 adults later by calling the hotel. Here is what I find on Hotwire for 2 adults: 4.5-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Customer Favorite/Best Value $142/night - you save $139. Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access Trip Advisor 4.5/5.0, Based on 180+ reviews, Last reviewed March 2008 4-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Best Value $129/night - you save $76.80 Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access Trip Advisor 3.5/5.0, Based on 180+ reviews, Last reviewed March 2008 3-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $109/night - you save $65.00 Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Pool(s), Laundry Trip Advisor 3.5/5.0, Based on 80+ reviews, Last reviewed March 2008 Here is what I find on Hotwire for 3 or 4 adults: 4.5-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Customer Favorite/Best Value $265/night - retail $281 (yikes! too high of a price) Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Pool(s) Trip Advisor 4.0/5.0, Based on 180+ reviews, Last reviewed March 2008 3-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $112/night - retail $221.50/you save $109.50 Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Pool(s), Laundry Trip Advisor 3.5/5.0, Based on 80+ reviews, Last reviewed March 2008 This seems like it might be the same hotel as the 3-star quoted for 2 adults, just a slight higher price when I put in 3 or 4 adults. Thank you sooo much for your help and recommendations.
