  1. Just won this hotel for Friday night. Going to the Pearl Jam show and am psyched for a decent price. Thanks for helping ID
  2. Just won 3* Hartford (Downtown) Hilton, $65 ... 5/15/10 Had a friend win at that price so I went with it heading down for the PJ show
  3. just to update my trip was cancelled appreciate the attempted help
  4. thanks again i need a little clarification so you're saying i should start my first bid selecting ALL OF These? "MTE, MTW, CPS, TS, ESB, and Downtown..." as my acceptable zones? or do you mean start with one... then add the others? like say I start with MTE Bid $120, if rejected add MTW... Bid $130, if rejected add CPS... Bid $140, if rejected add TS... Bid $145, if rejected add ESB... Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE. or do i select them all... then add the other rebid zones? thanks for the help and clarification
  5. in the example i'd take the 4*.... $100 each is probably hitting the max but if the 3* is going to be a serviceable place... then i'd go with that for less money as i said... it's me and a buddy... we don't care what else is in the hotel... just need a place to pass out really.... and don't want to wake up with bed bug bites :)
  6. I think I need to be flexible so I'm willing to accept most zones... ... probably not Long Island City or Brooklyn... the closer to MSG the better but as i said hotel quality/affordability is top priority 1 bed would be acceptable although i don't want it to be a Full - 2 beds would be preferable yesterday I saw your advice on another thread and got up to $130 following Select 4* MTE and MTW... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our links to PRICELINE from Priceline NYC should I continue down that path? will definitely use the links here... thanks
  7. Looking for help on a room in NYC for 1 night - June 25th. I'm in town for a concert at MSG. Doing the trip with a friend and not the wife so the hotel isn't important but not having bed bugs is :) so... a 3* or 4* would work... and ideally we'd be under 200 or so thoughts?? and thanks
  8. ended up at the Renaissance for 129 a night through the best rate guarantee hotel was decent... off strip and pool got shady... but otherwise just fine
  9. Thanks for the help. I will definitely revisit as it gets closer. I actually have a couple of other trips this spring/summer so I'll be around ... and that's not a threat :)
  10. Needed the flexibility to be able to cancel/change this room so PRICELINE was ruled out. I ended up booking the Renaissance directly on marriott.com. Thanks for the help and sorry if it was a waste of your time. That wasn't my intent and I was all set to book until the wife told me of a possible change in plans. This is a great site, keep up the great work!
  11. 4* in UNLV. gave up on the resort route.
  12. 4* UNLV area - which looks to be Hard Rock or Renaissance - Max bid of $130.
  13. i don't want to raise my max bid for the 5* so if I can't get 2 nights for 200 per... then new game plan would be to go for the Resort outside the strip for 2 nights. although... i just did some research... if I went with 4* bidding only in the UNLV area... I think I would end up at the Renaissance or the Hard Rock. Which would be great. sorry i'm all over the place... i do too much research and always want to find the best deal I have been to Vegas before and I found the "experience" to be crowded and overrated - IMO The only reason I'm going back to Vegas is the wife and I are driving from the San Diego area to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, etc and Vegas was the location that had a direct flight back to Boston. thanks again
  14. Thanks again for the help and info. You're right that a new property could be added. I understand that risk. Now that I've done some research I think my maximum bid of $215 for the 5* might be a bit too low. North or South is equally acceptable. I've also thought about going the Resort route with a maximum bid of $140. We're not actually staying the 2nd night as we have a 11;45pm flight out of vegas. But we would prefer to have a room all day Sunday.
  15. the ritz is already 199 on most sites... fyi
  16. i think all zones are my rebid zones since there are only 2 5 star zones... right? just like if i went with resorts... i'd end up with the JW no matter what also... i'm now trying for 2 nights so in on may 24 and out on may 26 i'd edit the thread title and first post but it won't let me? thanks
  17. so i just bid 165 for Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South then added Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North for 170 - 5* got rejected for both. when/how do they counter? also should i have closed my browser or something?? Thanks again for all the help
  18. i guess with priceline i'd be able to take an educated guess about where I'm going to end up ... right? at the 4 and 5 star level... i assume there's not many places withOUT pools? then again i shouldn't assume
  19. So I've been trying to plan a trip through the South West that would end me up in Vegas. We've finalized our other plans and need some help with a bidding approach. I saw another thread on here that was quite helpful with dealing with a good approach and rebidding but now I can't find it. So sorry if this post seems like I'm a n00b asking too much. I've tried to read up but think I've just confused myself at this point. We're looking for a 4* or 5* for Saturday night May 24th. Looking to spend $200 or under. Sole requirement is that the place has a good/decent pool. Would love to have a spa on site but it's not 100% necessary. Where do I start? Also - there is a thought of adding a 2nd night to my reservation so we wouldn't have to check out on Sunday morning. Our flight home isn't until 11:45pm. Thanks in advance!!
  20. just wondering why you're against the westin I've never been but it seems to be the cheapest for that weekend and it seems like it's cheap for a reason... and you have the reasons! :) thanks
