  1. I am looking for a room near san diego. We can stay anywhere from Oceanside, to La Mesa. I would like a place that has a pool and maybe a micro/fridge and a free breakfast. I have been looking on hotwire, but I do not like the prices. I have done priceline hotels in San Diego, but can't figure out what star level to do, for the above mention amenities. I can live without everything except the pool. I would like to keep the price at no more than $70.. Any suggestions??
  2. Our dates are still 7/29/-8/1/10. There are 2 adults and 1 child. The amenities are listed as: Comp. Breakfast Pool Internet It doesn't have a suite icon so I know it cannot be the Quality Inn. Any ideas?? I am trying to find a hotel that has a pool and a micro/refrigerator in the room. Thanks, staci
  3. Trying to figure out this hotel. I am trying for san diego area - 2 adults 1 child It comes up with this hotel at $82 a night. Amenities are: Comp. breakfast, pool, laundry, internet access, kitchenette. Any ideas what it could be? It shows tripadvisor rating as 2 1/2, but I do not see these amenities on tripadvisor for a 2 1/2 rating. Thanks for the help, Staci
  4. Tried for a Full Size and Standard at $11 and $12 and a MId Size at $11, but didn't work. Got a compact through Budget for $10 a day. Used the PRICELINE link
  5. Was trying for an inexpensive hotel in Hotel Circle. Figured I would not be able to get anything near the coast for this price. Looked at the website and it looks good. Hopefully it will not disappoint. Used the PRICELINE link
  6. Started bidding at $60 and went up by $2 increments until I reached $68, which was accepted. My daughter loves staying here and taking the subway to Universal Studios :) I used the PRICELINE link...
  7. We go to L.A. about once a month to go to Universal Studios. I have found that staying in a 4* in dowtown LA is a good thing. You get a nice hotel and you can take the metro for 20 minutes to get to Universal Studios. It lets you off right at UNiversal and then you hop on their tram to go up the hill to the entrance. Then on the way back, if you want get off in Hollywood for awhile and then just hop back on the metro and go to your hotel. If we are getting back to Downtown late (after 12am), I sometimes go all the way to Union Station and pay the $10 for a taxi to get us safely to our hotel. If you bid around $80 downtown you can usually get the omni and they have a car, that will pick you up at the metro station if it isn;t after 11pm. I have never stayed any closer to Universal, but it always works for me and my teenage daughter. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask :) :)
  8. Can you tell us all the amenities listed? I have been told that the 3* I was quoted is the Seralago, but I am just trying to make sure. Thanks, Staci
  9. thanks for the response. I didn't think it would be in kissimmee, since they had other hotels listed for the kissimmee area.
  10. I am looking for 9/21/09-9/30/09. 2 adults and 2 children. It shows a room for $28 a night. The amenities are: no smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, laundry, tennis nearby, child activity program Does anyone know what this hotel would be? :) The price seems really good for a 3* and it is definately on my list of probable hotels. Thanks for the help, Staci
  11. The amenities were: 4*-MTS Boutique, smoke free, fitness, high speed internet access, restaurant
  12. I just got 70 Park Avenue from HOTWIRE. It was offered at $299 a night. We think it looks very nice and are happy with this. We used the HOTWIRE link. Also, decided to use hotwire, so I could defer the payments for 90 days. That way I will have the extra money for spending while in New York. Thanks for all the help!!!! :)
  13. I have bid up to the $200 bid on the 4*s like you suggested. I will stay at the millenium un plaza, if i cannot find a hotel closer to the action of nyc. I am only trying to find something that will make my daughter feel like a princess..... :) one of the hotwire hotels has a hotel listed. I am afraid of heights, so I will have to close my eyes and hang on tightly when I have to ride up the elevators at th millenium un plaza. I am being told the rroms start at the 28th floor. trying to keep all m options open

  17. Started at $68 (wishful thinking) and ended up at the Bonaventure for $74 a night. This is about average for me for these trips. I used the PRICELINE link. :)
  18. Park next door to the Bonaventure. I think it is called the World Center parking garage. This is where I park when we stay at the Bonaventure.
  19. I cancelled my reservation at the Cosmo and made one through Quikbook link for the Millenium UN Plaza. It had a decent rate and my daughter likes how big the rooms look and the indoor pool. I will try to bid again over this weekend and see if any bites. I figure your advise about once a week is good and since I can bid until 6/23, I hope I have a good chance of getting a great rate!!! Thanks for the help
  20. I tried the bidding, no luck! :) Should I try everyday or once a week, until it gets closer to the date? Thanks for the help
  21. Thanks, I will try these. I do have a cancelable back up at the cosmopolitan for $200 a night. I noticed that NY Hilton and the Sheraton are 279 a night. I am hoping with those rates, everyone else will be dropping their rates. I will use the PRICELINE link. :)
  22. Hi.. I am looking to find a 4* for the last 2 days of our stay in NY. We are renting a penthouse apartment in the Financial district for the first 2 days. I do not have any specific area I want to stay. I would like to find something not in the Financial District, since we will have been there already. I think my limits will be $200 and I can wait until we get to New York on the 23rd before I bid, if I need to. Do you think I have any chance? :) Thanks for your help and I love this site. I came from the other site. :) Staci
  23. Walking at night near the Omni is not a good idea. The Omni has a towncar that will take you anywhere in the downtown area you want to go. The ride is free, unless you want to tip the driver :)
