  3. Hi, ***This is a direct purchase, NOT a bid **** I had no luck winning a * 3.5 - 4 hotels in Los Angeles - San Fernando Valley areas - Hollywood/Beverly Hills - West Hollywood/Burbank - Glendale - Universal City areas for the above dates. Similar to this earlier Priceline Los Angeles post, I tried 7 bids ranging from 125 - 185$ with no luck for the past 1 week. Finally, I gave up and used this forums's PRICELINE link and did a direct purchase at $170. It's weird that regular list price on Priceline for Embassy Suites, Glendate is $170. And at one point, I tried a bid for 3.5* hotel in the same area "Burbank - Glendale - Universal City" up to 185$ with no luck. Finally, I even tried different strategies listed in this forum... including this -- priceline bidding strategy, but no luck. This hotel is about 15 - 20 mins from Universal studios, with NO shuttle service, and charges $15 for parking and comes with a good complementary breakfast. I know summer time is busy for hotels, but is there any special event going on in this area in this time frame? Thanks vista_ca
  4. thanks for your help on re-bid options for 4*. Since I'm in a hurry and given that it's 4th of July weekend, I went ahead and made a reservation for 'Grand Pacific Palisades Resort and Hotel' on their website for 07/04 - 07/06 - 2 nights at @224$ /night ( with free cancellation ) with Total = $530. This is a 3.5 * hotel. Next time, I'll start the bidding early enough so I've more time and chance to win the bids. As always, thank you so much for your help. This is such a great site and I always 'first' come to this site whenever we think of vacation :-) Thanks vista_ca
  5. tried with following using your PRICELINE link: Dates: 07/04 - 07/06 - 2 nights goal = close to Legoland, CA * first bid $120 - 4* - 'Ocean side Carlsbad' rejected * added 'La Mesa' zone - rebid @130 - rejected * added 'Hillcrust Balboa park' zone - rebid @ 137 - rejected * added 'National city - Chula Vista' zone - rebid @141 - rejected. Trying to get 4* with bid < 150$( I know only Shereton is 4*, it's listed a 239$ in priceline as regular price ) Any advice on winning this is greatly appreciated. Thanks vista_ca
  6. Sorry for not closing the thread properly. I was not able to get the bid and we booked 'Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel And Spa' using our Hyatt points which was cheaper than the regular price. Thanks vista-ca
  7. Hi, Trying to book a 4* hotel for 07/04 - 07/06 for 2 nights (using your PRICELINE link). I'm trying for 4* Sheraton Carlsbad Resport and Spa or 3.5 Grand pacific Palisades resort &hotel. I did a lot of research and there is a confusion in hotel listing. Does '4* Sheraton Carlsbad Resport and Spa' comes under 'North County Coasta'l or 'Ocean side Coastal' Zone? The Priceline Hotel list link shows Sheraton under Ocean side coastal, but I saw lot of posts mentioned Sheraton Carlsbad Resort under North County Coastal. Not sure which one is correct? Please clarify. Thanks in advance for your help vista_ca
  8. In priceline, when I'm bidding I'm seeing winning bid msgs for 4* in the 130 - 140$ range. I can push myself upto 145, max 150$ If I can't get 4* for $130 or so, then, I would bid for 3.5* starting at $100 and could go upto 130$. Thanks for your advice, you guys are awesome.
  9. Sure, here are the list of Amenities for Crowne Plaza Resort Anaheim Amenities Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access. This hotel typically charges all guests a resort fee of about US$ 15 per room per nigh. We enjoyed staying here. They have free shuttle to Disneyland as well. Hope this helps.
  10. Thanks for your response, thereuare. I'm planning to bid upto 120 - 130$. Usually there is resort fee for 4* hotels so I kept my previous failed bids below 120$ with no success.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. I closed my previous disneyland thread and started new one for 4*Monterey.
  12. I have been looking for 4*Monterey hotel in Aug 2012 for Aug 24 - Aug 26, 2 rooms. I've been rebidding for '4* Monterey' for Aug 24 - Aug 26, 2 rooms. I started at $85, went up to $116, still no luck. I tried all three rebid zones - Marina, Pacific Grove, Sea Side , but no success so far. I tried 3 or 4 times so far, almost everyday, no luck. I even tried alternate dates Aug 10 - Aug 12. No luck. I usually get Hyatt Regency, 4 * Monterey hotel at @100$, this time PRICELINE has been hard on me :( Are there any special events in Monterey? I used your PRICELINE link. What is the reasonable highest bid I can go for this area? Thanks vista_ca

I even tried for alternate dates Aug 10 - Aug 12. No luck. 16. Thanks for the suggestion, that helps. I was basically compare this bid with TravelZoo deal. Sounds like Travel Zoo one is the best option considering free breakfast and free parking. Vista_CA
  17. One more question. Does this come with Free Breakfast? I just realized that there is 14$ for parking and 1$ resort fee. thanks vista_CA

  21. Thanks for the re-bidding tips on this site. I'm newbie and used Betterbidding PRICELINE link as you suggested. My goal is to get either ( 4 * ) - "Hilton San Diego Resort" or Hyatt Regency Misson Bay spa and Marina. Started with 85$ - San Diego ( Coastal ) - rejected Immediately added "Escondido - Vista" to continue re-bidding as this area doesn't currently have 4* rating hotels. Increased bit to 100$. Got Hilton San Diego Resort. Added SVU rental for $33 per day. I'm Happy :) thanks for the tips. Great site. here is my offer: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $100.00 Subtotal: $200.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $35.12 Total Charges*: $235.12
