Sorry for the late reply, but we had to cancel our plans for this trip.

We are trying to get an idea what hotels these are. Hotwire 2 adults and 2 children 7/18 - 7/20. We think the first one is the James but we have never stayed there before. Not sure about the 2nd one. The 3rd looks to be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza which would be to far away. We would like to be closer to a Red Line stop or the Navy Pier. Any other deals out there you might know about? Everything looks pretty high and we are last minute. How up to date is Hotwire on their Tripadvisor rating? The hotel list shows this as Hyatt, Swissotel, or Felix. The Hyatt is the only one that comes up as a 3.5 on Tripadvisor. Sound correct? I have experience with Hotwire because I have kids. This trip my wife and I are taking in a Cubs game 9/19 (No kids!!). We can use Priceline to try and save a few bucks, but I have never used it. Hotwire has a 4* Magnificent Mile at $169, so I guess around $130 would be our max. Plus there is a 4* Loop at $129 if we had to at last resort. Since everything I am seeing on hotel websites are $250 or higher, even the $169 looks good. I think it is the Sheridan and we are hoping to get something a little further west, but the Grand-Red‎ CTA stop wouldn't be that far. We would like to stay north of the river after bad past experiences walking at night south of it. Plus we will be out on the town without kids for once. I did a little homework on here to bid tonight (8/26) as follows; NMA $60 Rejected NMA LINC $65 Rejected NMA MID $70 Rejected NMA MID LINC $75 Rejected NMA SKO $80 Rejected NMA SKO LINC $85 Rejected NMA SKO LINC MID $90 Rejected Do I have to wait now for 24 or 72 hours to start again? Well, I never did get a very good price with Hotwire for Aug2 - Aug 6 to go threw. Good thing it didn't. I found a summer special direct from the Hyatt Regency's site for $119.00 a night. Had a great stay at the hotel, but the storm at Wrigley Field on Monday was terrible with kids (including mine) bawling when they sounded the tornado sirens. And 3 guys tried to mug me in front of Fanny May's on Tuesday night. Good thing I wasn't scared and stared at them long enough to back them off. It is funny now that I think about it. I heard them say a guy with a bag is coming (I had my camera case) when we came around the corner and started walking towards us when I turned and stood there like I was was going to wait for them. They must not have liked the look in my eyes because the first guy turned around and the other two followed him. I guess they never had someone do that before LOL. I think that is the last time we will stay south of the river. Two years ago a group of pedophile bums started saying graphic things to my kids when we walked by on Michigan and Lake. I used my Paypal MasterCard once instead of my debit, but that didn't work either. Plus it took HOTWIRE 3 days to give me a credit. I could try another card, but that doesn't make any sence. A MasterCard is a MasterCard right?

I think there is a problem with what looks to be the Westin. I get the same error everytime when what looks to be the Westin puts up an offer. I wish they could see that their offers are not working. :)

I order my visitor passes off the CTA website. Five of us in my family go to Chicago for vacation every year along with Cubs games. CTA will just mail them to you, and they don't start untill the first day you use them. They are great. No fishing for change and can save you lots of money.

Looks like the InterContinental Chicago! The only other 4.5* in that area, on the list is the Conrad Chicago. And the Conrad is 4.5* on TripAdvisor.

Well here we go again. Thanks for the follow up, but there must be something else wrong. I waited all week to try again and see what else I could find for those days. I am assuming this since Hotwire told me that the hotels post the offers themselves. Guess what it says, when I get done with my payment! We couldn't process your request. You have been refunded! GRRRRR! So this being a new offer, the old offer being stuck in cache couldn't be. Am I correct? I have lots of time to fix this problem, I think. Most hotel websites show plenty of choices for rooms for those dates. I have never used Hotwire before, would not signing up for a Hotwire account have anything to do with it? It doesn't seem like it since it asks you if you would like to or not. Thanks for the help!

Anyone ever have this problem? Hotwire has been showing a 4* Chicago (Mag Mile-Streeterville) @ $165.00 for a week now. By using your list of hotels I think I pinned it down to The Hyatt Regency or The Westin River N.. I decided to go ahead since I would be happy with either. Everything goes fine till I get to the last screen on my payment. It then pops up an error and refunds my payment. :) Like the offer is not available now. I go back into it and the offer is no longer there. If I wait an hour the offer pops back up. I try it again and same thing happens. I tried it once last night and three time today. Why if the offer is not available, does Hotwire keep putting it back up after a while? I even called them and they said try it again in 30 min. :) Any suggestions?
